Broncos signed CB Jonathan Wilhite, formerly of the Patriots.

The 2008 fourth-rounder started 13 games for the Pats over the past three seasons, falling down the depth chart as the team added talent at corner. He'll vie for a role in sub-packages with the Broncos.

Patriots released CB Jonathan Wilhite, LS Matt Katula, FB Garrett Mills, DL Kade Weston, K Chris Koepplin, and DB Malcolm Williams.

Mills was trying to make the team as an undersized H-back, but never had a realistic shot. He doesn't have an NFL position. Wilhite follows Terrence Wheatley out the door a year later; both were top-four round cornerback picks in the 2008 draft, and neither panned out. Darius Butler looks safe for now.

Patriots placed CB Jonathan Wilhite on injured reserve with a hip injury, ending his season.

The nickel back notched 24 tackles and two passes defensed this season. Darius Butler will continue to see more snaps. The Patriots elected to replace Wilhite on the roster with DT Louis Leonard, which could indicate that Devin McCourty might be able to play through his rib injury this weekend.

Patriots CB Jonathan Wilhite (hip) has been ruled out for Week 14 at Chicago.

Terrence Johnson will back up LCB Devin McCourty. Heavy snow and wind are projected at gametime in Chicago, so the absence of Wilhite, who has been out since Week 10, shouldn't affect New England's 31st-ranked pass defense.

Patriots DL Myron Pryor (back), DE Mike Wright (back, concussion), and CB Jonathan Wilhite (hip) all missed Saturday's practice.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick sounded optimistic that Pryor and Wright would be able to suit up for Monday Night at home against the Jets, but he was less committal about Wilhite's status. New England's 32nd-ranked pass defense continues to suffer casualties to injury. Provided the weather holds, Mark Sanchez could be in line for a big game.

The North Attleboro Police Dept. revealed that Jonathan Wilhite pulled his groin while running from men who were in the parking lot of his residence Sunday morning.

Wilhite's home was not invaded. But when two men approached Wilhite at his home, he took off running to a convenience store to call police. He told police that he injured his groin while running, though the severity is not known.

The North Attleboro Police Dept. is investigating an incident that occurred over the weekend, potentially involving Patriots CB Jonathan Wilhite.

Police will only confirm they're gathering facts regarding "an incident involving a (New England) Patriots player." The player's home was allegedly invaded, and Wilhite was a surprise scratch for Sunday's win over Atlanta. Coach Bill Belichick, however, said Wilhite "had an injury (Sunday) morning."

Patriots CB Jonathan Wilhite was a late scratch with an unspecified injury for Sunday's game.

Wilhite's injury left the Pats with just three healthy cornerbacks, but they were still able to contain the Falcons passing game. Wilhite reportedly suffered the injury just prior to the game.

The Patriots have been impressed with second-year cornerback Jonathan Wilhite during offseason workouts.

Wilhite has become more comfortable in the defense and could be poised for a nice season. "Right now, I’m still young and there is always something I can learn," he said. "We have some guys who came in who have been doing this for a long time, like Shawn Springs and Leigh Bodden, and that always makes it a little better."

Second-year CB Jonathan Wilhite is running as the Patriots' top nickel back at Organized Team Activities.

Rookie Darius Butler and Terrence Wheatley will push him, but Wilhite showed promise as a rookie and has the best size of the group. The Auburn alum is also versed in press coverage, a key for New England's scheme.

The Patriots moved rookie Jonathan Wilhite into the starting lineup at left cornerback in Week 14.

He wasn't outstanding, but New England can't do much worse than previous starter Deltha O'Neal. A fourth-round pick from Auburn, Wilhite logged 56 of 57 possible snaps and made three tackles. He figures to keep the job.

Patriots signed fourth-round CB Jonathan Wilhite to a multi-year contract.

Wilhite battled injuries at Auburn, but there aren't too many other liabilities in his game. He tackled well as a 22-game starter and runs a 4.4. Wilhite has a chance to emerge as an eventual starter in New England's secondary.
