Seattle coach Pete Carroll is "counting on" having DE Michael Bennett (knee) back in Week 13.
"We have to get all the clearance from the doctors, trainers think he’s in great shape and ready to go, so we’re counting on him playing.," said Carroll. Bennett has been out since Week 7 with the knee issue, but appears to have a solid shot at a Week 13 return. The Seahawks could also get CB Deshawn Shead (hamstring) back on the field, while FS Earl Thomas (hamstring) is a longer shot to return to action. The return of Bennett would be a boost to the Seattle defense that failed to record a sack in Week 12 at Tampa Bay. The Seahawks D/ST has scored six or more fantasy points in 10 of 11 games this season and will be a safe option at home against Carolina in Week 13. Nov 30 - 4:48 PM

Seattle SS Kam Chancellor (groin) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday.

Although Seattle will still be without DE Michael Bennett (knee), the return of Chancellor will help a secondary preparing to face New England and Tom Brady in Week 10. The Seahawks D/ST is a risky fantasy play this week on the road at New England, but will return home to face Philadelphia in Week 11 as a top-tier option.
Nov 9 - 8:47 PM

Seattle DE Michael Bennett underwent knee surgery on Wednesday and will be out for 2-3 weeks.

Bennett injured his knee in Week 6 against Atlanta and was able to play the following week before sitting out Week 8 and opting for surgery. Seattle still managed two sacks in Week 8 without Bennett and has a quality in-house replacement in DE Frank Clark. The Seahawks D/ST will be a top-tier fantasy option at home against Buffalo on Monday night.
Nov 3 - 3:52 PM

Seattle SS Kam Chancellor (groin) did not practice on Wednesday and is "day-to-day" according to coach Pete Carroll.

"I don’t know what’s going to happen for the weekend," Carroll said. "We'll see how he does (running)." Seattle had a few issues in pass coverage against Atlanta in Week 6 without Chancellor and would welcome the return of their hard-hitting safety. Seattle will get DE Michael Bennett (knee) back after suffering a concerning knee injury last week, and the Seahawks D/ST will be a back-end top-12 fantasy option on the road at Arizona. Seattle has won its last two games at Arizona by a combined score of 71-12.
Oct 20 - 12:48 PM

Seattle will host the NFL's top offense in Week 6 when the Atlanta Falcons visit CenturyLink Field.

Matt Ryan and the Falcons are dropping 35.0 points per game through five weeks and made the outstanding Denver defense look mortal in Week 5. Atlanta faces another stiff road test this week at Seattle against a well rested Seahawks defense. Seattle is second in the NFL in pass defense and is always tough at home, making the Seahawks D/ST a startable fantasy option despite the matchup.
Oct 13 - 11:56 AM

Seattle leads the NFL in scoring defense, allowing just 19 points through two weeks, but has failed to force a turnover.

The lack of turnovers has limited the upside of the Seahawks D/ST, and is becoming a trend for this defense. Seattle has led the NFL in scoring defense four consecutive times, but finished 16th and 20th in forcing turnovers over the last two seasons. The Seahawks D/ST will look to pry the ball from San Francisco in Week 3, when QB Blaine Gabbert and the 49ers visit Seattle. The Seahawks D/ST is a top-tier option this week.
Sep 21 - 4:16 PM

Seattle SS Kam Chancellor (tailbone) was limited in practice on Thursday.

This is an improvement for Chancellor, as the Seattle defensive back missed practice on Wednesday. Chancellor injured his tailbone at Baltimore in Week 14 and has yet to play since that game. The odds of Chancellor returning on Sunday are improving, but still in question as Seattle prepares to face Arizona on the road. The Seahawks D/ST is a back-end top-12 fantasy option in Week 17 due to the rough matchup.
Thu, Dec 31, 2015 10:58:00 PM

The Seattle defense has allowed one offensive touchdown in the last three weeks.

Seattle has allowed just 26 total points in those three games while allowing only 51.0 rushing yards to opposing teams. Week 16 looks promising for this group again, as the Seahawks will host the St. Louis Rams and quarterback Case Keenum. The Seahawks D/ST is an elite fantasy play this week.
Thu, Dec 24, 2015 02:57:00 AM

The Seattle defense has allowed 44.0 rushing yards per game over the last four weeks.

The Seahawks are second among NFL defenses in stuffing the run this season but have been particularly dominant over the last month. Week 15 brings the Cleveland Browns to Seattle, who have the NFL's 30th-ranked rushing attack. The Seahawks D/ST is an elite fantasy play this week.
Wed, Dec 16, 2015 11:36:00 PM

The Seattle defense will face Matt Schaub, Johnny Manziel, and Nick Foles over the next three weeks.

The schedule sets up beautifully for the Seahawks D/ST during the fantasy playoffs. The Week 15 and 16 matchups with Cleveland and St. Louis come at home, where the Seattle defense will be the top-ranked fantasy option. Seattle is heating up after a Week 13 win at Minnesota where they gave up just 125 total yards and zero offensive points to the Vikings. The Seahawks D/ST is a top play this week at Baltimore.
Thu, Dec 10, 2015 03:53:00 AM

The Seattle Seahawks will welcome the return of CB Jeremy Lane (knee) on Sunday, who was injured in last February's Super Bowl.

Lane's presence will help the Seattle secondary and push struggling CB Cary Williams down the depth chart. "He's going to bring that extra level of enthusiasm and effort. He's a guy that we've relied upon around here for a lot of years to just kind of bring that extra grit, and that's what he has," said Seattle DC Kris Richard. Seattle will need the secondary help when they face Pittsburgh and QB Ben Roethlisberger this week, who has thrown for 713 yards over his last two games. The Seahawks D/ST is a back-end top-10 unit this week at home.
Sat, Nov 28, 2015 03:17:00 AM

The Seattle defense will look to rebound from a rough Week 10 performance that saw the group allow 39 points at home to Arizona.

The performance was weak as a whole, but the Seahawks did record three sacks, three turnovers, and a defensive score for fantasy owners. Week 11 brings a much easier opponent for Seattle, as San Francisco will visit CenturyLink Field on Sunday. Seattle held the 49ers to just three points in their Week 7 meeting and will be a top fantasy play this week.
Thu, Nov 19, 2015 01:30:00 AM

The Seattle Seahawks will host the NFL's second-highest scoring offense in Week 10 when they play the Arizona Cardinals.

The Arizona offense drops an impressive 32.9 points per game to go along with an average of 417.4 total yards per game. With wet weather expected in Seattle on Sunday night, this game will likely be lower scoring than normal for Arizona and the Seattle defense has allowed just 37 total points in three 2015 home games. Despite the difficult matchup, the Seahawks D/ST should be viewed as a top-10 fantasy option in Week 10.
Sat, Nov 14, 2015 02:32:00 AM

The Seattle Seahawks are on bye in Week 9, but will enjoy three-straight home games starting in Week 10.

The schedule lightens up a bit for Seattle following the bye and the run of home games is enough reason to hold the Seahawks D/ST through the off week. This group will be back as a top-10 fantasy option at home against Arizona in Week 10.
Thu, Nov 5, 2015 01:25:00 AM

The Seattle defense travels to Dallas in Week 8 to face the Cowboys and quarterback Matt Cassel.

The Seahawks D/ST will be a top Week 8 option as they face Cassel, who threw three interceptions in his 2015 debut last week. Seattle will be looking to repeat their overwhelming defensive performance from Week 7 when they allowed just a field goal at San Francisco. Start this group with confidence.
