The Chicago Tribune reports LG Josh Sitton (doubtful, ankle) is expected to miss Week 7 against the Packers.

Sitton was an unexpected cut from the Packers prior to the season, but won't get to face his former team. He could be sidelined for multiple games after going down in Week 6. Ted Larsen will start until Sitton returns.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Bears LG Josh Sitton is expected to miss "some time" with an ankle injury.

Ted Larsen filled in at left guard after Sitton went down in Week 6. Either Larsen or Eric Kush will get the nod Thursday against Green Bay. Through six games, Sitton owns PFF's third-highest guard grade out of 78 qualifiers. It's a big blow to the Bears' offensive line.
Oct 18 - 11:22 AM

Bears signed OG Josh Sitton, formerly of the Packers, to a three-year, $21.75 million contract.

The deal includes $10 million guaranteed. Predictably for a player coming off a Pro Bowl year, Sitton did not have to wait long to find a new home. Sitton will take over for second-round rookie Cody Whitehair at left guard, with Whitehair perhaps moving down to cover the Bears' troublesome center spot. If Kyle Long (shoulder) can get healthy, Chicago will boast one of the best guard duos in the league.
Sep 4 - 10:32 PM

Free agent OG Josh Sitton will visit the Bears.

If he leaves without a contract, his next visit will be with New Orleans. Green Bay's decision to move on from Sitton was a head-scratcher and now the division-rival Bears have a chance to hit the Packers where it hurts. The Bears are vulnerable at left guard with second-round rookie Cody Whitehair set to replace Matt Slauson. If he chooses the Bears, Sitton and Kyle Long would make a formidable duo at guard.
Sep 4 - 10:27 AM

Yahoo!'s Charles Robinson reports "nothing crazy happened" between the Packers and free agent OG Josh Sitton.

Robinson reports the Packers knew Sitton was "irritated' he was entering his contract year without getting a new deal, so they decided to move on. If true, it is an extremely odd decision by the Packers, who will now face a serious downgrade at left guard. Sitton will not be on the street for long.
Sep 3 - 5:42 PM

Packers released LG Josh Sitton.

This one is a head-scratcher. Although he's now on the wrong side of 30, Sitton has been a second-team All Pro each of the past three seasons, and hasn't missed a game since 2011. He was Pro Football Focus' No. 5 overall guard last year. The move saves $6.85 million, but if the Pack were interested in saving cash, it's unclear why the move wasn't made in the spring. Sitton won't take long to find a new home.
Sep 3 - 2:35 PM

Packers LG Josh Sitton (toe) is active for Sunday's Week 11 game against the Eagles.

Sitton will likely eventually need surgery, but the second-team All-Pro will gut it out through pain. There are no surprises in the Packers inactives: QB Scott Tolzien, CB Demetri Goodson, LB Carl Bradford, WR Jeff Janis, TE Brandon Bostick, LB Jayrone Elliott and DT Luther Robinson.

Packers LG Josh Sitton expects to play through a "severe" toe injury.

Sitton has been told that if he played any other position than offensive line, he'd need season-ending surgery. The second-team All-Pro from last season is considered questionable for Sunday night's game against the Bears. Also questionable is right guard T.J. Lang (ankle). The backups are Lane Taylor and J.C. Tretter.

Packers LG Josh Sitton has bulked up to 322 pounds in an effort to improve his drive blocking.

Sitton became the Packers' first Pro Bowl guard in 40 years last season, but Green Bay's interior linemen were pushed back all too often. Sitton's 2012 playing weight got down to 300, so he's really bulked up. "I just wanted a little bit more power and probably a little more strength," Sitton explained. "I put on a lot of muscle plus fat, too." It's a positive development for Eddie Lacy.

Josh Sitton is just the third Packers guard in the last 40 years to make the Pro Bowl.

The late Gale Gillingham and Marco Rivera are the others. Over the last two seasons, Sitton has established himself as an elite pass-blocker and cornerstone of the Packers' offensive line. With Evan Dietrich-Smith stepping in at center and T.J. Lang emerging at left guard, there's reason to believe this unit can have a bounce-back season in 2013. They allowed Aaron Rodgers to get sacked a league-high 51 times in 2012.

Packers RG Josh Sitton (knee) could make his return against the Chiefs Sunday.

Sitton has been out since spraining his right knee against the Lions on Thanksgiving. The 13-0 Packers will likely exercise caution as they steer their ship toward the playoffs. Before going down, Sitton was having an All-Pro caliber season.

Packers RG Josh Sitton left Thursday's game against the Lions in the second quarter with a knee injury.

Sitton was matching up with and containing Ndamukong Suh early on. He's considered questionable to return and is standing on the sideline with an icepack on his knee. Evan Dietrich-Smith has come on at right guard.

Packers signed RG Josh Sitton to a new six-year contract.

Lions DT Ndamukong Suh called Sitton the best lineman he faced during his entire rookie season, and it's deserved recognition for a player yet to make a Pro Bowl despite being absolutely deserving. Sitton, 26, has started the Packers' last 32 games and graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 2 ranked guard in football this past year. Excelling as both a run blocker and pass protector, the 2008 fourth-round pick is one of GM Ted Thompson's many draft-day gems.

Packers RG Josh Sitton is hopeful of signing a long-term extension to stay in Green Bay.

"I will play with the Packers for as long as they will have me," said Sitton, who's entering a contract year and emerged as one of the NFL's best guards. "... I would hope they would want to give me an extension. I have played pretty damn good football for them for a couple of years." Sitton is only 25, so he could theoretically strike it rich twice with big deals before his career is up if he signs a three- or four-year extension.
