The Bears will flip flop their guards this season, moving Josh Sitton to right guard with Kyle Long kicking to left guard.
The Bears have made a habit of toying with Long's position, previously trying him at right tackle before kicking him back to his natural right guard spot, and now moving him to the left. The reasons for the latest switch are unclear, but Long is believed to have lost a ton of weight while rehabbing multiple injuries. Sitton saw action at both left and right guard during his Packers tenure. May 21 - 10:45 PM

Bears LG Josh Sitton (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 12.

As RG Kyle Long (shoulder/ankle) was lost for the season two weeks ago, the Bears will be without both of their starting guards with Matt Barkley under center and Cameron Meredith as their No. 1 receiver and Logan Paulsen as their No. 1 tight end. This is an offense to target with Tennessee's fantasy defense.

Bears LG Josh Sitton was forced from Sunday's game against the Giants with an ankle injury, and will not return.

Sitton has been bothered by ankle issues for the past month. He was carted to the locker room in the third quarter. It's yet another devastating loss for a Bears offense that has few starter-quality players left.

Bears LG Josh Sitton (ankle) returned to practice Monday.

It puts him on track to play this week against the Bucs. Kyle Long (triceps) also returned, giving the Bears a great shot to have their offensive line fully healthy against Tampa.

Bears declared LG Josh Sitton, RG Kyle Long, NT Eddie Goldman, TE Daniel Brown, CB Bryce Callahan, CB Deiondre' Hall, and WR Eddie Royal inactive for Week 8 against the Vikings.

Good luck protecting Jay Cutler. The Bears' offensive tackle situation is already one of the worst in the league, and now they lose their two best offensive linemen. Sitton has an ankle issue, while Long is battling triceps and shoulder injuries. Giddy up, Vikings defense. Interior pocket-pushers Linval Joseph and Tom Johnson are frothing at the mouth. Royal has a toe injury.

Bears LG Josh Sitton (ankle) is questionable for Monday night against the Vikings.

Sitton got in his second straight limited practice Saturday, but coach John Fox said his status is "a tough one to call." It sounds like he is a game-time decision. The Bears will be without RG Kyle Long (triceps).

Bears declared LG Josh Sitton, QB Jay Cutler, DL Eddie Goldman, CB Deiondre' Hall, S Deandre Houston-Carson, RB Jeremy Langford and WR Eddie Royal inactive for Week 7 against the Packers.

All are injured except for Houston-Carson. Sutton is week to week with an ankle injury. Bryce Callahan (hamstring), Ka'Deem Carey (hamstring), Leonard Floyd (calf), Jerrell Freeman (wrist), Zach Miller (ribs) and Tracy Porter (knee) are all active for the Bears.

The Chicago Tribune reports LG Josh Sitton (doubtful, ankle) is expected to miss Week 7 against the Packers.

Sitton was an unexpected cut from the Packers prior to the season, but won't get to face his former team. He could be sidelined for multiple games after going down in Week 6. Ted Larsen will start until Sitton returns.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Bears LG Josh Sitton is expected to miss "some time" with an ankle injury.

Ted Larsen filled in at left guard after Sitton went down in Week 6. Either Larsen or Eric Kush will get the nod Thursday against Green Bay. Through six games, Sitton owns PFF's third-highest guard grade out of 78 qualifiers. It's a big blow to the Bears' offensive line.

Bears signed OG Josh Sitton, formerly of the Packers, to a three-year, $21.75 million contract.

The deal includes $10 million guaranteed. Predictably for a player coming off a Pro Bowl year, Sitton did not have to wait long to find a new home. Sitton will take over for second-round rookie Cody Whitehair at left guard, with Whitehair perhaps moving down to cover the Bears' troublesome center spot. If Kyle Long (shoulder) can get healthy, Chicago will boast one of the best guard duos in the league.

Free agent OG Josh Sitton will visit the Bears.

If he leaves without a contract, his next visit will be with New Orleans. Green Bay's decision to move on from Sitton was a head-scratcher and now the division-rival Bears have a chance to hit the Packers where it hurts. The Bears are vulnerable at left guard with second-round rookie Cody Whitehair set to replace Matt Slauson. If he chooses the Bears, Sitton and Kyle Long would make a formidable duo at guard.

Yahoo!'s Charles Robinson reports "nothing crazy happened" between the Packers and free agent OG Josh Sitton.

Robinson reports the Packers knew Sitton was "irritated' he was entering his contract year without getting a new deal, so they decided to move on. If true, it is an extremely odd decision by the Packers, who will now face a serious downgrade at left guard. Sitton will not be on the street for long.

Packers released LG Josh Sitton.

This one is a head-scratcher. Although he's now on the wrong side of 30, Sitton has been a second-team All Pro each of the past three seasons, and hasn't missed a game since 2011. He was Pro Football Focus' No. 5 overall guard last year. The move saves $6.85 million, but if the Pack were interested in saving cash, it's unclear why the move wasn't made in the spring. Sitton won't take long to find a new home.

Packers LG Josh Sitton (toe) is active for Sunday's Week 11 game against the Eagles.

Sitton will likely eventually need surgery, but the second-team All-Pro will gut it out through pain. There are no surprises in the Packers inactives: QB Scott Tolzien, CB Demetri Goodson, LB Carl Bradford, WR Jeff Janis, TE Brandon Bostick, LB Jayrone Elliott and DT Luther Robinson.

Packers LG Josh Sitton expects to play through a "severe" toe injury.

Sitton has been told that if he played any other position than offensive line, he'd need season-ending surgery. The second-team All-Pro from last season is considered questionable for Sunday night's game against the Bears. Also questionable is right guard T.J. Lang (ankle). The backups are Lane Taylor and J.C. Tretter.
