Josh Morgan had ligaments in each of his hands repaired after the season.
Tack this issue on top of ongoing concerns surrounding Morgan's right leg issues. After appearing to lack burst last season, he had surgery to remove a plate and seven screws from his right ankle in January. Morgan may not be ready for OTAs. Feb 27 - 12:52 PM

Josh Morgan tweeted Friday that he underwent surgery on his right ankle.

Morgan broke his right leg and ankle in October of 2011. We suspect this operation was a "scope" to clear up loose particles in the ankle. It's fair to wonder if playing at less than 100 percent robbed Morgan of some explosiveness. He looked very pedestrian on the field in 2012, averaging just 10.6 yards per catch.

Josh Morgan caught one pass for zero yards in Sunday's Wild Card round to Seattle.

Morgan nearly scored the Redskins' first touchdown, but was forced out by K.J. Wright before landing his second foot in the back of the end zone. More of a factor as a blocker than receiver, Morgan won't be a fantasy option in 2013.
Jan 6 - 8:22 PM

Josh Morgan was held without a catch in Washington's Week 17 win over the Cowboys.

So ends a disappointing season for one of Washington's most hyped free agent signings, as Morgan could never emerge as more than a rotational No. 2 receiver. The former 49er caught just 11 balls over his final five games, and finishes with a 48/510/2 line. The Redskins' entire passing game should be considered "on the rise" with special talent Robert Griffin III at the controls, but Morgan won't enter 2013 with any fantasy value.

Josh Morgan caught two passes for 21 yards with a touchdown in the Redskins' Week 16 win at Philadelphia.

Morgan now has two touchdowns in his last three games as he rotates with Leonard Hankerson. This score came on a well-executed screen/pitch play in the second quarter from 11 yards out. Still, Morgan has a total of just 11 catches in the last four weeks heading into the regular season finale against the Cowboys.

Josh Morgan caught four passes for 60 yards in the Redskins' Week 15 win over the Browns.

Morgan continues to rotate with Leonard Hankerson opposite Pierre Garcon. It's resulted in a total of nine catches for 107 yards and one touchdown in the last three weeks. Ignore.

Josh Morgan caught three passes for 30 yards and a touchdown on three catches and four targets versus the Ravens in Week 14.

Morgan capped off the opening drive with a 4-yard score from Robert Griffin III. He may have added a second score had the Redskins challenged a call that he stepped out of bounds just in front of the pylon. Morgan won't be a fantasy option in Week 15 at Cleveland.
Sun, Dec 9, 2012 06:16:00 PM

Josh Morgan caught just two passes for 17 yards in Monday night's Week 13 win over the Giants.

Morgan was targeted four times on the night, good for second-highest on the team, but his biggest contribution was made on a fumble recovery touchdown. Morgan picked up a Robert Griffin III fumble in the opening half and took it 15 yards to the end zone. Working as the starter opposite Pierre Garcon, Morgan is on pace to reel in 52 passes for 532 yards but no scores. He's not a fantasy option.
Tue, Dec 4, 2012 01:32:00 AM

Josh Morgan caught five passes for 48 yards in the Redskins' Week 12 win over the Cowboys.

Morgan's big play came on a receiver screen off play action for a first-quarter gain of 17 yards. He's a blocking wideout who carries very little fantasy appeal.
Thu, Nov 22, 2012 08:34:00 PM

Josh Morgan caught three passes on four targets for 25 yards versus the Eagles in Week 11.

Morgan and Pierre Garcon (3) were the only players targeted more than twice in a run-heavy attack. Morgan has cleared 50 yards just twice all season and has yet to score a touchdown. He's well off the fantasy radar entering Week 12 at Dallas.
Sun, Nov 18, 2012 08:07:00 PM

Josh Morgan hauled in a team-high six passes for 46 yards and added one carry for nine yards versus the Panthers in Week 9.

Morgan was Robert Griffin III's go-to receiver with 12 targets, four more than the next closest Redskin. He's been the most reliable pass catcher in a wide receiver corps that leaves a lot to be desired. Morgan has topped 50 receiving yards just twice in nine games this season.
Sun, Nov 4, 2012 06:34:00 PM

Josh Morgan caught five passes for 46 yards in Week 8 versus the Steelers.

Both totals were team-highs. Morgan also attempted a pass in the first half as he was aiming for Robert Griffin III down the left sideline. Morgan hung the ball up in the air, and RGIII was subsequently decked by Steelers FS Ryan Clark. With it being rainy in Pittsburgh, Morgan was the target of a lot of short routes and screen passes. He's not a fantasy option.
Sun, Oct 28, 2012 06:21:00 PM

Josh Morgan caught two passes for 16 yards in the Redskins' Week 7 loss to the Giants.

Morgan had a 35-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter called back by an illegal shift penalty. He finished with just two official targets. With Leonard Hankerson soaking up all of Pierre Garcon's "X" snaps, Morgan is mostly just a blocker.
Sun, Oct 21, 2012 05:25:00 PM

Josh Morgan caught three balls for 42 yards in the Redskins' Week 6 win.

Morgan made some nice catches over the middle, but this is roughly his fantasy ceiling on a week to week basis. Leave him on your fantasy waiver wire. Morgan's receiver position in Washington's offense is not heavily targeted.
Sun, Oct 14, 2012 07:43:00 PM

Getting the Week 5 start in place of Leonard Hankerson, Josh Morgan managed one catch for four yards against Atlanta.

The Z receiver in Mike Shanahan's offense is rarely targeted, and Morgan spent the majority of Sunday's game blocking. Morgan is not on the fantasy radar.
