Cardinals signed G Floyd Womack, formerly of the Browns.

"Pork Chop" helps fill the void left by Deuce Lutui in the desert. He started 24 games for the Browns over the last two seasons and provides versatility off the bench. The Cardinals' line won't be decimated at all by the loss of Lutui.

Browns RG Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack (knee) returned to practice Wednesday and could play this weekend.

Womack sat out against the Jaguars in what was the Browns offensive line's worst performance of the season. Rookie Shawn Lauvao struggled in Womack's place, so Peyton Hillis and company have their fingers crossed that Womack will be ready to go.

Browns OG Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack will miss the remainder of the preseason after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

This clears the way for rookie Shawn Lauvao to take over as the starting right guard. Lauvao and tackle John St. Clair held down the right side of the line while the Browns exploded for three TDs in the first quarter and a half Saturday night. LG Eric Steinbach can rest easily -- for now.

Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack is expected to beat out rookie Shawn Lauvao for the Browns' starting right guard job.

While Lauvao is clearly a better long-term prospect, the Browns have expressed a desire to bring him along slowly at guard after Lauvao played left tackle in college. In the meantime, Womack will attempt to provide veteran stability to allow for Jerome Harrison and Montario Hardesty to flourish.
