Dolphins re-signed G/T Nate Garner.
Although Garner made four starts at right tackle last year, he's not back to fill Jake Long's shoes by himself. He's a utility lineman capable of playing four positions and acting as quality depth. Both tackle spots remain a concern for the Dolphins as they ask right tackle Jonathan Martin to move to Ryan Tannehill's blind side. Mar 19 - 11:54 AM

The Dolphins are "finalizing" a deal with free agent G/T Nate Garner.

Garner would be returning as insurance for a team that just lost Jake Long. Garner acquitted himself well in four starts at right tackle last season, but he'd almost certainly be coming back as a swing tackle, not a starter.

The Miami Herald reports "both sides" are interested in keeping free agent G/T Nate Garner in Miami.

Garner could be a cheap fallback option if the Dolphins let free agent Jake Long walk and shift RT Jonathan Martin to left tackle. Garner has appeared in all 16 games each of the past three seasons, but made just 13 career starts.

"Insiders" tell the Miami Herald free agent G/T Nate Garner could command a contract worth $3 million annually.

Garner filled in as the Dolphins' starting right tackle after Jake Long tore his triceps last season, and played exceedingly well. The four-year veteran has appeared in all 48 games the past three seasons, making 13 starts while sliding all over the line. Still only 28, the 6-foot-7, 325-pound lineman could find a team willing to gamble on him as a cost-effective starter.

Dolphins signed G/T Nate Garner and S Tyrone Culver to one-year contract extensions through 2012.

Garner can play four positions on the offensive line and is the Fins' first lineman off the bench. We suspect he'll start games at right tackle this year, because the Marc Colombo experiment is a poor bet to work. Culver is a career special teamer. Last season, he racked up 10 tackles in kick and punt coverage.

Dolphins extended a restricted free agent tender to OG Nate Garner.

Dolphins coaches want the three-year veteran to take over for Richie Incognito at left guard opposite John Jerry next season. Garner missed all of last season with a foot injury.

The Dolphins reportedly believe Nate Garner could be the answer at left guard, but they have concerns about his weight.

Garner is listed at 6'7/325, which is certainly not overweight for a guard. Perhaps the team wants him to bulk up in an effort to avoid the nagging injuries that have plagued him the past two years. Without question, guard is a top need for Miami this offseason.

Dolphins placed OG Nate Garner (foot surgery) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Garner, who had surgery two weeks ago, has broken the same foot twice. He could've returned by Week 5 or so in a best case scenario, but the Fins will move forward without him. A 6'7/325-pound mauler from Arkansas, Garner would have been a candidate to start at left guard had he stayed healthy.

Dolphins OG Nate Garner is expected to miss eight weeks after undergoing surgery on his left foot last week.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel has a 4-6 week timetable while the Miami Herald's source says he will be out "at least eight weeks." Garner re-broke the same foot that was surgically repaired earlier in the offseason. His versatility will be missed, especially with rookie John Jerry fighting through knee soreness.

Dolphins G Nate Garner (leg) was seen sporting crutches after suffering an apparent leg injury during Wednesday morning practice.

Garner had started the last two days at left guard and is expected to be a versatile piece on the Dolphins' line. It remains to be seen how serious the injury is.

Nate Garner (foot) says he is 100 percent healthy heading into camp.

We still don't have many details on Garner's injury, but he's going to have to be at full strength if he's going to win the starting left guard job. He's in a wide-open battle with Donald Thomas and John Jerry.

Dolphins OG Nate Garner underwent surgery to repair his undisclosed foot/toe injury.

Garner is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of OTAs and minicamp, but he'll return for training camp. Rookie third-rounder John Jerry has been lining up as the starting left guard opposite Richie Incognito.

Dolphins OG Nate Garner may miss all the OTAs and minicamps this offseason while rehabbing a foot/toe injury.

This is the first we've heard of an injury for Garner. He's still expected to be fine for training camp and beat out Donald Thomas for the left guard job. This shouldn't have an affect on Justin Smiley's tenuous status with the team.

Dolphins OL Nate Garner left Thursday's game in the fourth quarter with a right knee injury.

This is getting ridiculous. Garner is the third Miami center lost to injury during the game. Joe Berger, who left with his own ankle injury, is back the game.

Dolphins signed OT Nate Garner off their practice squad.

The Dolphins just claimed Garner off waivers from the Jets two weeks ago. He'll give some depth to Miami's very talented offensive line.
