Vikings signed OT Brandon Keith, formerly of the Cardinals.
Keith, 28, spent last season out of football after struggling mightily as Arizona's starting right tackle in 2011. Working against Keith is his lack of versatility. Richard is a versatile interior lineman, while Keith and Heyer are tackles only. The Pats may have just been updating their "emergency" free agent list.

Cardinals placed RT Brandon Keith on injured reserve with a right ankle injury, ending his season.

Keith first injured his ankle in Week 14, and aggravated it a week later before sitting out in Week 16. Poor in pass protection, Keith graded out as a slightly above average run blocker by Pro Football Focus. An impending free agent, Keith was a seventh-round pick of the Cardinals in 2008. He should be back to 100 percent health well before the beginning of camp. Jeremy Bridges will start in his absence against the Seahawks.

Cardinals RT Brandon Keith sustained a right ankle injury in Sunday's win over the 49ers.

The severity of Keith's injury isn't yet known. There wouldn't be a noticeable dropoff if he were to miss next week's game against the Browns. Jeremy Bridges replaces him at right tackle.

Cardinals RT Brandon Keith sustained a concussion in Sunday's loss to the 49ers.

Keith and Jeremy Bridges have been playing musical chairs at the right tackle spot all season anyway. There won't be a huge dropoff if Keith isn't cleared in time to play the Rams Sunday.

Cardinals RT Brandon Keith left Sunday's game with a knee injury and did not return.

He and Jeremy Bridges have been taking turns losing the RT job, and are essentially below-average, interchangeable parts. Keith has been dealing with this injury for over a year, so we don't expect him to get fully healthy anytime soon.

Cardinals RT Brandon Keith was benched in favor of Jeremy Bridges during Sunday's loss to the Ravens.

The Cardinals were getting eaten alive by Terrell Suggs and the Ravens, but it could have been anyone. Kevin Kolb has been sacked 24 times so far this season, second-most in the league behind Ben Roethlisberger. Coach Ken Whisenhunt admitted that a significant shakeup along the offensive line this week is possible, specifically mentioning LT Levi Brown as someone that could be benched.

Cardinals RT Brandon Keith did not return to Sunday's game against the Giants after suffering a first half knee injury.

Keith did some back to the sideline with his helmet, so it's very possible he simply got benched in favor of Jeremy Bridges. Beat writer Kent Somers suggests Bridges may provide more stability at right tackle going forward.

Cardinals placed RT Brandon Keith (knee, hamstring) on injured reserve, ending his season.

It turns out Keith sustained a third-degree hamstring tear that will sideline him 4-6 weeks. Doctors also found meniscus damage in his knee, so he'll go under the knife for minor surgery. While Keith struggled at times with pass protection in his first year as a starter, he was playing better than LT Levi Brown. Capable veteran Jeremy Bridges will likely step in as the new starter.

Cardinals RT Brandon Keith has reportedly "blended right in with the starters" in training camp.

It's a key development because Keith is so unproven. But we've heard of him neutralizing defenders ranging from Darnell Dockett to Alan Branch. A beast at 6'5/340, Keith sounds ready to excel as both a pass and run blocker.

Brandon Keith was the Cardinals' starting right tackle at minicamp.

Keith has barely played since being a seventh-round pick out of Northern Iowa in 2008. He practiced at guard last season, but is a natural tackle and will be protecting Matt Leinart's blind side. Keith's ability to play well out of the gate will go a long way toward Leinart's chances of success.

The coaching staff is high on the 2008 seventh-rounder, and Keith has the size (6'5"/343) and athleticism to protect lefty Matt Leinart's blind side. Veteran Jeremy Bridges and project Herman Johnson are around for insurance should Keith struggle in his first year as a starter.
