Seahawks re-signed LB David Vobora.

Our friends at Pro Football Focus like him, but the Seahawks apparently didn't when they waived him a month ago. A special teamer, Vobora is needed after Matt McCoy sprained his knee covering a punt on Sunday.

Seahawks waived LB David Vobora.

A favorite of Pro Football Focus, Vobora failed to make a positive impression on the Seattle staff after signing two weeks ago.

Seahawks signed LB David Vobora, formerly of the Rams.

A linebacker capable of playing both the weak and strong-side spots as well as special teams, Vobora will add competition to a Seattle unit weakened by Lofa Tatupu's demise and subsequent release. Vobora only has about 2 1/2 weeks to make an in-practice impression, but Seattle has plenty of tape on him.

The Seahawks will work out free agent LB David Vobora on Monday.

Vobora has played in the division, so the Seahawks should have a pretty good idea of him. A versatile linebacker, Vobora was viewed as "just a guy" by the Rams' organization but is a favorite of the website ProFootballFocus.com.

Rams released LB David Vobora.

Vobora fell victim to massive upgrades within the Rams' linebacking corps. They added Ben Leber, Zac Diles and Brady Poppinga in free agency. A team in need of a backup outside linebacker that can handle himself against the run should take a look at Vobora.

Rams LB David Vobora (concussion) has been cleared to play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Colts.

Vobora is a natural outside linebacker, but may be asked to play in place of James Laurinaitis (pectoral) Saturday. After adding Zac Diles, Brady Poppinga and Ben Leber in free agency, the Rams are deep at linebacker.

Restricted free agent David Vobora will sign his one-year tender with the Rams as soon as possible.

Vobora is a backup strong-side linebacker and knows his best chance for playing time is with the team that drafted him.

Restricted free agent David Vobora has won a $5.4 million judgment against supplement company Ultimate Sports Spray.

Vobora drew a four-game suspension in 2009 for testing positive for a banned substance, but has been vindicated in his defense that Ultimate Sports Spray's substance was tainted. A reserve strong-side linebacker, Vobora may not end up back in St. Louis.

Rams extended restricted free agent tenders to OLBs David Vobora and Chris Chamberlain.

Each received an original pick tender, which once again indicates that the Rams aren't overly concerned with losing either via offer sheets. Vobora wound up starting the final five games last season, mostly at strong-side linebacker. He plays the run well, but St. Louis has never seemed very high on him.

Rams LB David Vobora is likely to start at strong-side linebacker in place of the injured Na'il Diggs.

Vobora started 10 games on the strong side for the Rams last season and one on the weak side this year. Either Chris Chamberlain or Larry Grant will start at WLB. Chamberlain makes more sense against the Saints because he's better in coverage, but he's dealing with a broken hand that complicates things.

Rams LB David Vobora is reportedly on the roster bubble in St. Louis after losing his starting job this offseason.

Vobora, a favorite of the metrics-based website Pro Football Focus, has fallen behind WLB Larry Grant and SLB Na'il Diggs. Vobora can play all three linebacker positions, but his roster spot may come down to special teams. If he hits the wire, the former Mr. Irrelevant should be snapped up quickly.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo confirmed that David Vobora is now considered a backup after the team traded for Bobby Carpenter.

Vobora was arguably the Rams' best run defender at the position last year and may end up pushing Na'il Diggs for time on the strong side. For now, he's practicing behind James Laurinaitis in the middle.

David Vobora is expected to lose his starting job after the Rams complete a trade for Bobby Carpenter on Monday.

Vobora was arguably the Rams' best linebacker working off the strong side last season, but the team signed Ken Flajole-favorite Na'il Diggs to play SAM and plans to use Carpenter on the weak side. Vobora appears ticketed for a fourth linebacker role, as St. Louis' top backup at all three positions.

Rams re-signed exclusive rights free agent SLB David Vobora to a one-year contract.

According to Pro Football Focus, Vobora missed just one tackle all last year on 401 snaps, was effective in coverage, and was quietly the Rams' best run defender from the linebacker position. St. Louis may bring in competition -- Na'il Diggs is on the radar -- but 2008 Mr. Irrelevant appears to be a keeper.
