With starting CB Brandon Flowers (shoulder) resting, Maurice Leggett ran with the Chiefs' first team at OTAs.

Leggett was mainly a nickel back and special teamer last season before going down with a shoulder injury of his own. The Chiefs are in trouble if he plays too much in the secondary, but he has a good chance to make the team because of his standout play covering kicks.

Chiefs re-signed exclusive rights free agents DB Maurice Leggett and OT Barry Richardson.

After beginning last season as the nickel back, Leggett first lost the job then ended up on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. The Chiefs will look to upgrade in the draft. Former sixth-rounder Richardson will battle for a roster spot as a reserve lineman.

Chiefs DB Maurice Leggett left Sunday's game with an apparent right arm injury.

The injury looked bad, so he's not likely to return. The Chiefs are thin in the secondary, and losing their nickel corner will hurt against Ben Roethlisberger.
