Saints CB Elbert Mack left Sunday's game against the Raiders with a head/neck injury.

Mack was injured on an interception-ruled-incompletion return in the fourth quarter. He was tackled and took an inadvertent knee to the back of the head from his own teammate. Mack is the third corner for New Orleans. He was replaced in the lineup by Johnny Patrick.

Saints re-signed CB Elbert Mack and released LB Barrett Ruud.

It's been quite a fall for Ruud over the past couple of years, going from alleged star middle linebacker in Tampa to basically a street free agent-caliber player. Mack returns after LCB Jabari Greer re-aggravated his groin injury.

Saints released CB Elbert Mack.

Mack continues to do the roster dance with the Saints. He was released at final cuts, re-signed after Week 2 and is now gone again.

Saints re-signed CB Elbert Mack.

Mack was dumped in favor of Jerome Murphy early this month. Now that Murphy has been waived, Mack gets another shot at the final cornerback spot.

Saints released CB Elbert Mack.

They liked Jerome Murphy better. Mack made the Saints out of training camp as a special teamer and No. 5 corner, but became expendable when New Orleans claimed Murphy on waivers. Mack now becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Saints agreed to terms with CB Elbert Mack, formerly of the Bucs, on a one-year contract.

Mack visited the Saints in April. An undrafted free agent in 2008, Mack has appeared in at least 12 games each of the past four seasons, but made only four starts. Mack is a big hitter who is proficient against the run, but has always been a liability in coverage. He'll be lucky to secure dime duties in New Orleans.

Free agent CB Elbert Mack will visit the Saints this week.

Mack has been exposed as a liability in coverage with the Bucs over the past four years. He would be no more than a dime back in New Orleans.

Bucs re-signed exclusive rights free agent CB Elbert Mack.

Mack, 24 in July, saw too much action as Tampa Bay's nickel back last year, struggling badly in pass coverage and doing little to help the Bucs' awful run defense. He did have three picks, but ideally would be no more than a dime back moving forward. The Bucs need badly to draft a corner on Friday.

Bucs nickel corner Elbert Mack was forced out of the Week 9 win over the Packers with a badly sprained ankle.

Mack hurt the ankle in practice last week and it swelled up on him. Torrie Cox came on to replace Mack.

Second-year undrafted cornerback Elbert Mack has the early lead on Tampa Bay's nickel back position.

Aside from special teamer Torrie Cox and late-round pick E.J. Biggers, the Bucs lack alternatives at the nickel. Mack, who goes only 168 pounds, will struggle vs. bigger outside receivers when Ronde Barber guards the slot.

The Bucs are appealing rookie CB Elbert Mack's one-game suspension.

The appeal will be heard before Sunday's game. If the suspension is upheld, the Bucs are likely to promote CB Marcus Hamilton from the practice squad.

Bucs rookie CB Elbert Mack has been suspended for Sunday's game against the Bears after being cited for a second violation of the NFL's player safety rules.

Mack was fined $5,000 in the final preseason game for a hit on Texans quarterback Alex Brink. His latest infraction was "launching himself" into Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan with a helmet-to-helmet hit.
