Redskins signed OL James Lee, formerly of the Buccaneers.
Lee couldn't get on the field in Tampa last year, but was a nine-game starter in 2010. Unfortunately, he struggled both as a run and pass blocker before losing the job to Jeremy Trueblood. Lee can play tackle and guard and does have experience as a zone blocker. He'll compete for a roster spot in Washington. Mon, Apr 9, 2012 05:33:00 PM

Bucs RT James Lee will have to hold off competition for his starting job this summer.

Jeremy Trueblood lost the job to Lee last season in large part because he fell out of favor with former offensive line coach Pete Mangurian. Now a free agent, Trueblood is considered a better fit for Pat Morris' power scheme. The Bucs' front office is reportedly split on the idea of bringing back Trueblood to compete with Lee.

Bucs RT James Lee left Sunday's loss to the Lions in the second quarter with an ankle injury and did not return.

Lee hinted that it was just a sprain, but he'll undergo testing Monday. "I kind of made the call. I couldn't get the push I needed. I told them I couldn't go," Lee said.

Coach Raheem Morris confirmed Friday that the Bucs will continue to start James Lee at right tackle.

The former undrafted free agent out of South Carolina State has beaten out Jeremy Trueblood. Morris explained that Lee has been an upgrade in pass protection over Trueblood, who over the past two seasons has regressed mightily. It's bad news for Trueblood in the final year of his rookie deal.
