CSN Washington believes Tyler Polumbus has the "inside track" to the Redskins' starting right tackle job.
Polumbus started 15 games at right tackle for Washington last season, but he was completely over-matched as both a run and pass blocker. The Redskins re-signed Polumbus to a two-year deal, but they also brought in veterans Jeremy Trueblood and Tony Pashos as competition. The team is also reportedly very high on 2012 sixth-round pick Tom Compton, but he might be another year away. May 18 - 1:43 PM

Redskins re-signed RT Tyler Polumbus to a two-year contract.

Polumbus flirted with the Jaguars, but it was always in his best interest to stay in Washington's zone scheme, where he is viewed as a starting-caliber player. Pro Football Focus would vehemently disagree with the Redskins' evaluation, giving Polumbus the single-worst right tackle grade in the NFL last season. Polumbus, ideally, would be a swing tackle. He'll face competition from Bucs castoff Jeremy Trueblood and perhaps a rookie draft pick in training camp.

Free agent RT Tyler Polumbus will visit the Jaguars on Thursday.

The Jaguars are in dire need of a right tackle after Cameron Bradfield and Guy Whimper stunk up the joint at the position last season. However, Polumbus wasn't much better in Washington. Jacksonville needs to be aiming higher for a starter.

Redskins RT Tyler Polumbus (concussion) has been cleared to practice.

Polumbus suffered the concussion in Week 15, and Maurice Hurt filled in well against the Eagles last week. As we know, getting cleared to practice isn't the final hurdle. Polumbus will still need to be cleared by an independent neurologist in advance of Sunday's playoff play-in game against the Cowboys.

Redskins RT Tyler Polumbus is still bothered by concussion symptoms.

Polumbus has not even been cleared to practice since sustaining his concussion in the Week 15 win at Cleveland. Maurice Hurt, who handled himself well in a Week 16 spot-start, will likely get the nod again for Sunday night's showdown with the Cowboys.

Redskins RT Tyler Polumbus (concussion) will continue to be evaluated this week.

Polumbus was a surprise inactive on Sunday and it sounds like he'll need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist before returning. With Jordan Black suspended, the Redskins could be forced to start Maurice Hurt once again at right tackle. Polumbus should be considered questionable for Week 17.

Redskins RT Tyler Polumbus (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's Week 16 game against the Eagles.

It's a surprise after Polumbus practiced on Friday and was expected to play. He must not have gained final clearance from an independent neurologist. It's a blow the continuity of a Redskins' offensive line that has remained remarkably healthy this year, but Polumbus is just a backup-caliber talent anyway. Maurice Hurt will start and we wouldn't expect much of a drop-off.

Redskins RT Tyler Polumbus (concussion, questionable) is expected to play on Sunday against the Eagles.

Polumbus suffered the head injury in last week's win over the Browns. Jordan Black replaced him in the lineup, but he was later suspended for four games this week due to a positive PED test. Polumbus missed practice on Thursday, but he was limited on Wednesday and Friday. He has graded out as Pro Football Focus' fifth-worst starting offensive tackle in the league this season.

Redskins RT Tyler Polumbus sustained a concussion in Sunday's Week 15 game against the Browns.

Polumbus has been replaced by Jordan Black. The Redskins are beautifully using play-action and bootlegs to keep Kirk Cousins clean.

Redskins signed OT Tyler Polumbus, formerly of the Seahawks.

This one has Mike Shanahan's fingerprints all over it. Polumbus was a pet project of Shanny's in Denver after going undrafted out of Colorado in 2008. He has tremendous size, but the problem is Polumbus can't play. He's annually graded out as one of the league's worst tackles. There are no signs of life from this Redskins offense.

Seahawks waived OT Tyler Polumbus.

Polumbus has been a swinging gate as an injury fill-in for two years in Denver and Seattle. The Seahawks will go forward with undrafted rookie Jerriel King as the backup left tackle.

Seahawks OT Tyler Polumbus is expected to start at left guard in Week 17, replacing Chester Pitts.

Polumbus has graded out as one of the NFL's poorest tackles and we're not quite sure how the 6'8" journeyman fits at guard. Try as hard as you can to stay away from whoever starts at quarterback for the Seahawks.

Seahawks T Tyler Polumbus (knee sprain) is expected to miss Week 9 against the Giants.

Breno Giacomini will start at left tackle, and can't be considered more of a downgrade than Polumbus, who has provided about as much pass protection in 2010 for Seahawk quarterbacks as a beaded curtain. G Chester Pitts could fill in, or possibly even start at left tackle if Giacomini proves to be overmatched by DE Osi Umenyiora.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll referred to likely Week 1 starting LT Tyler Polumbus as "Troy" four times in Wednesday's press conference.

Just to put the situation into perspective. Polumbus graded out as one of the NFL's poorest tackles regardless of side last season. The 49ers' defense is a highly recommended Week 1 fantasy start. Matt Hasselbeck isn't.

Updating a previous item, the Lions have traded OT Tyler Polumbus to the Seahawks in exchange for an undisclosed late-round pick in 2012.

The pick is probably a conditional seventh-rounder. Polumbus wasn't going to make the Lions, but they knew that the Seahawks had also put a claim in on him last week. With Russell Okung's (high ankle sprain) status in question for the opener, Polumbus is a candidate to back up Mansfield Wrotto.
