He'll participate in Oakland's rookie minicamp. Haynos, a 6-foot-8, 270-pound blocking specialist, was out of the NFL last year after the Jags waived him.

Jaguars signed TE Joey Haynos and waived OL Rob McGill.

Haynos missed all of last season with a Lisfranc fracture, but he's healthy now. The 27-year-old blocking specialist is probably just a camp body to use while Zach Miller nurses a knee injury. McGill was an undrafted rookie.

The injury that ended free agent TE Joey Haynos' season last August was a Lisfranc fracture.

Miami released Haynos after the injury. Now that Haynos is "healed and ready to go," the Dolphins are keeping tabs on him. He could be re-signed for a shot at a backup tight end role.

Haynos sustained a right foot injury in Friday's preseason game. The Dolphins haven't revealed details, but it looked serious. The third-year tight end's season is over, and he'll be placed on injured reserve once he clears waivers.

Miami's top blocking tight end behind Anthony Fasano, Haynos' injury didn't look good. He'll undergo an MRI on Saturday to determine the severity. His loss could give John Nalbone a shot to make the roster.

Dolphins offensive coordinator Dan Henning admits that Joey Haynos' effectiveness decreased when Anthony Fasano (hip) was out of the lineup.

Henning was probably referring to Haynos' blocking, which is a work in progress. During the two games that Fasano missed, Haynos caught three balls in one game and was held to no catches in another. His size (6'8/270) is enticing, but Haynos has a long way to go.

The Dolphins are reportedly high on second-year TE Joey Haynos.

Haynos, a raw 6'8/270-pounder, was seen as an offensive tackle prospect by some coming out of Maryland in 2008. Haynos caught a touchdown pass as a rookie, but will probably never be more than a situational No. 2 tight end.
