Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) will remain sidelined against the Browns in Week 11.
It will be his second straight absence. Heyward-Bey remains week to week with a sprained foot. Pittsburgh's wide receiver depth has really been tested this year. With Heyward-Bey and Markus Wheaton (shoulder) sidelined and Sammie Coates playing at much less than 100 percent, the Steelers will continue to feature Antonio Brown, Eli Rogers and Cobi Hamilton in three-wide sets. Date:

Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) is out for Week 10 against the Cowboys.

He's dealing with a sprained foot he suffered in last week's loss to Baltimore. Even when healthy, Heyward-Bey is not a fantasy asset. With DHB and Markus Wheaton (shoulder) both sidelined, the Steelers will employ Antonio Brown, Eli Rogers and Sammie Coates in three-wide sets.
Nov 11 - 2:02 PM

There is no timetable for Darrius Heyward-Bey's (foot) return.

ESPN Steelers reporter Jeremy Fowler adds that Heyward-Bey is likely out for Week 10. It's poor timing as DHB had just been promoted to third on Pittsburgh's wide receiver depth chart. The Steelers will roll with Antonio Brown, Sammie Coates, and Eli Rogers in three-wide sets Sunday versus Dallas.
Nov 9 - 4:38 PM

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Darrius Heyward-Bey has been diagnosed with a sprained foot.

NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported that DHB is actually dealing with a sprained ankle, so there's been a little consistency in regards to his exact injury. Either way, he's dealing with some kind of sprain, which doesn't bode well for his availability Sunday against Dallas. Heyward-Bey recently leapfrogged Markus Wheaton on the Steelers' depth chart at wide receiver. Despite the promotion, DHB won't be a fantasy option, even when healthy.
Nov 8 - 12:29 PM

Darrius Heyward-Bey was forced from Pittsburgh's Week 9 game against the Ravens with a right foot/ankle injury, and will not return.

DHB was in a ton of pain. The quick rule out suggests it's a serious injury. DHB officially passed Markus Wheaton on the depth chart this week, and Wheaton was a healthy scratch in Baltimore. The Steelers are thin at receiver behind Antonio Brown.
Nov 6 - 2:07 PM

Darrius Heyward-Bey is listed ahead of Markus Wheaton on the Steelers' latest depth chart.

Wheaton is expected to return this week after missing time with a shoulder injury, but he'll be behind Heyward-Bey, who has been promoted to the starting lineup. Heyward-Bey has caught just five passes for 68 yards this year with his best game coming against New England in Week 7 (three catches, 30 yards, one TD). Heyward-Bey will start alongside Antonio Brown and Sammie Coates Sunday against Baltimore. Ben Roethlisberger is expected to be back under center after missing one game with a torn meniscus.
Nov 1 - 11:38 AM

Darrius Heyward-Bey totaled three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown on seven targets Sunday in the Steelers' Week 7 loss to the Patriots.

With Sammie Coates battling a finger issue and slot receiver Eli Rogers nowhere to be found, Heyward-Bey was thrust into a much bigger role than expected. He got Pittsburgh on the board with a 14-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Heyward-Bey did an excellent job to get both feet down while fending off Patriots corner Eric Rowe. It looked like he had another touchdown later in the same quarter but the play was called back on offensive holding. Despite his increased usage, Heyward-Bey doesn't offer much fantasy appeal.
Oct 23 - 9:23 PM

Darrius Heyward-Bey (shoulder) is practicing in full for Week 5.

The Steelers view DHB as a valuable player. He has two catches in four games this season.
Oct 6 - 5:36 PM

Darrius Heyward-Bey left Week 4 against the Chiefs with a shoulder injury.

He's listed as questionable to return, but is likely done for the night. Heyward-Bey had a 31-yard touchdown on his only target before exiting.
Oct 2 - 10:48 PM

Darrius Heyward-Bey caught 1-of-2 targets for 14 yards in the Steelers' third preseason game.

Heyward-Bey is competing with Sammie Coates for the Steelers' No. 4 receiver job, but DHB has the inherent game-day activity edge because of his special teams value. On offense, Heyward-Bey is just a situational deep threat.
Aug 26 - 11:53 PM

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler expects Darrius Heyward-Bey to remain "fairly high" on the depth chart this season.

Heyward-Bey's clear-out speed — he reportedly clocked 25 miles per hour this spring — has made him a surprising Steelers mainstay, though he has only 24 catches over his past 32 games. Even if DHB gets some routes, he's well behind Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell, Markus Wheaton, Ladarius Green, and potentially Sammie Coates on the targets totem pole.

Jun 30 - 4:41 PM

Steelers re-signed WR Darrius Heyward-Bey to a three-year, $3.8 million contract.

Heyward-Bey played a surprising amount of snaps on offense last season (406), but is primarily a special teamer at this point in his career. Unsurprisingly, he graded out as one of the league's worst wideouts in Pro Football Focus' ratings. With Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Markus Wheaton and Sammie Coates all in the fold, DHB's snap count should dip sharply in 2016.
Mar 7 - 1:16 PM

Steelers WR Darrius Heyward-Bey caught 2-of-2 targets for 64 yards in Sunday's Divisional Round loss to the Broncos.

Heyward-Bey appeared to lose early-game playing time to rookie Sammie Coates, but came alive for a 58-yard gain on a wide-open route in the second quarter. That was about the extent of DHB's contribution. An impending free agent, Heyward-Bey has devolved into a sub-package receiver and special teams gunner. Maybe old pal Hue Jackson will give him another look in Cleveland.
Jan 17 - 8:24 PM

Darrius Heyward-Bey caught 2-of-5 targets for 74 yards Week 17 against the Browns.

Heyward-Bey got more run in the second half because of Martavis Bryant's neck injury. He connected on a 66-yard bomb, but he missed out on a couple end-zone targets. Depending on Bryant's health, DHB could play a big role next week.
Jan 3 - 5:24 PM

Darrius Heyward-Bey caught 2-of-6 targets for 24 yards in the Steelers' Week 5 win over the Chargers.

He tied Antonio Brown for the team lead in targets. Heyward-Bey was the target on a couple downfield passes, but wasn't able to secure them. Off the fantasy map, DHB will be the No. 4 receiver when Martavis Bryant returns.
