Marcel Reece rushed three times for 21 yards in Oakland's Week 9 loss to the Steelers.
Reece formed a three-man committee with Taiwan Jones and Jamize Olawale after Latavius Murray departed with a likely concussion. Were Murray to miss next week's game against the Vikings, Reece would be on the RB3 radar, and have RB2 upside in PPR leagues. Nov 8 - 6:41 PM

Marcel Reece caught 7-of-8 targets for 49 yards and one touchdown in the Raiders' Week 5 loss to the Broncos.

He rushed one time for six yards. Reece's eight targets were second to Michael Crabtree's nine. His touchdown came from three yards out on a play-action bootleg to the right. Reece doesn't get enough consistent volume to be worthy of a waiver-wire pickup, especially with the Raiders going on their bye.

Raiders FB Marcel Reece caught 1-of-2 targets for 16 yards in Sunday's Week 2 win over Baltimore.

Reece's two-touchdown opener was an obvious fluke. While he's an asset to the Raiders' offense, Reece lacks value in fantasy leagues.
Sep 20 - 7:45 PM

Raiders FB Marcel Reece caught 3-of-4 targets for 26 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the Bengals.

He caught a pair of garbage-time TDs from Matt McGloin. Reece has always been an intriguing talent with a standout size-speed combo, but the Raiders have never made frequent use of him as an all-purpose playmaker beyond from when multiple injuries have struck their backfield. We wouldn't go picking up Reece off fantasy waiver wires, even if McGloin makes future starts.
Sep 13 - 8:19 PM

Marcel Reece rushed one time for 11 yards and caught three passes for 30 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss at Denver.

Criminally underutilized by the Raiders once again, Reece somehow finished with just 21 carries and 37 catches on the season. The team has simply wasted the prime years of a unique talent's career, as Reece is now 29 years old. We'll keep our fingers crossed that the next Oakland coaching regime can find a way to get him more involved, as Reece is under contract for just $2.55M in 2015.

Marcel Reece rushed four times for 12 yards and caught six passes for 48 yards in the Raiders' Week 13 loss to St. Louis.

The Raiders' run game has actually shown signs of life with Reece and Latavius Murray playing this season. Murray (concussion) was inactive for this game, but the coaching staff still didn't deem Reece worthy of heavy run-game usage. Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew combined for 48 yards on 16 carries. Despite an impressively versatile skill set, Reece continues to go to waste in Oakland. It's worth noting that Reece didn't help himself by losing a third-quarter fumble on Sunday.

Marcel Reece rushed eight times for 37 yards in Oakland's Week 12 win over the Chiefs, adding an eight-yard reception.

The nine touches were by far Reece's most of the season. The Raiders finally appear to be turning the page on their Darren McFadden/Maurice Jones-Drew backfield, but Reece is unlikely to come into legitimate 12-14 team league value.

Marcel Reece (quad) is questionable for Week 8.

Reece practiced every day this week and should return after being held out of last Sunday's loss. He has just 11 touches in five games this season.

Marcel Reece (quad) is questionable for Week 7.

Reece was also listed as questionable last week, but ended up being active. He returned to practice Friday, and is on track to play against the Cardinals.

Marcel Reece (quad) is questionable for Week 6.

Reece was limited in practice this week. He's expected to play against the Chargers.

Raiders OC Greg Olson said he will "continue to find ways" to use RB Marcel Reece.

"Continue" is an interesting choice of words considering Reece only has four touches through the first two games of the season. Olson at least recognizes Reece needs to get the ball more, but he is unlikely to ever become a fantasy option as the Raiders' Swiss-army knife. Oakland ranks in the bottom of five of points scored, total yards and rushing yards this season.

Marcel Reece (foot) returned to practice Tuesday.

So much for being "out indefinitely." Reece was injured in Sunday's practice, had an MRI on Monday, and returned Tuesday. The Raiders may take it easy with their veteran Swiss-army knife, but it he's clearly avoided major injury. Reece is a much better real-life football player than fantasy asset.

Marcel Reece will undergo an MRI on his foot, and is out indefinitely.

Reece suffered the injury in Sunday's practice, and was spotted in a walking boot on Monday. It's a major concern. Ridiculously secretive with injury information, the Raiders may not update Reece's status until later in the week. Reece is one of the Raiders' better players, but is unlikely to make a fantasy impact this season even if he's healthy.

Marcel Reece now weighs 238 pounds, his lightest since college.

It's clearly a move by the versatile fullback to improve his quickness in the passing game, but we don't expect a big role change for Reece. The Raiders have two pass-catching backs in Maurice Jones-Drew and Darren McFadden, and the team has annually only used Reece as an offensive weapon when absolutely forced. He had just 46 carries and 32 catches in 16 games last season.
Mon, Jul 28, 2014 08:43:00 AM

Marcel Reece had one catch for 11 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Broncos.

It was his only target of the night. Reece finishes the 2013 season with 46 carries, 218 yards, and four total touchdowns, adding 32 catches for 331 yards in the passing game. A better real-life player than fantasy asset, Reece will return as the Raiders' starting fullback in 2014 and could push for a third down role.
