NJ.com's Eliot Shor-Parks predicts Tim Tebow will make the Eagles' 53-man roster.
Shor-Parks likes Tebow's chances because he "doesn't turn the ball over" and can "make plays with his legs." He also said Matt Barkley "isn't built" to be a backup and that Tebow offers more in spot duty. Even if Tebow makes the team, he'd be a distant third behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez. Tim Tebow has been "struggling" in OTAs.

Reports of Tebow's improved throwing motion were predictably embellished. Two months shy of his 28th birthday, Tebow is an old dog who can't learn new tricks. If there's one coach crazy enough to keep Tebow around as a gadget player, it's Chip Kelly, but it's still hard to see happening. Roster spots are simply too precious. Tebow belongs on the SEC Network, where he's quite good.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, there doesn't appear to be "much difference" in Tim Tebow's throwing motion.

Tebow's motion was reportedly much improved after working with quarterback guru Tom House, but reporter Jeff McLane says he "still takes a long time (to) cock, load and throw." Tebow was never going to fully revamp his throwing motion going on age 28. Tebow is fighting Matt Barkley for No. 3 duties.

Philly Mag's Tim McManus believes Tim Tebow has a "real shot" to win the No. 3 quarterback job in camp.

With G.J. Kinne transitioning away from quarterback, Tebow's competition for the No. 3 role will be the underwhelming Matt Barkley. Barkley is a better quarterback than Tebow, but Tebow would bring some versatility and short-yardage ability to a roster spot which was wasted last year. Tebow could stick on the roster if he avoids falling on his face during training camp.

Chip Kelly insists Tim Tebow isn't just a camp arm.

"I think everybody here that we bring to our organization is here to compete for a job," Kelly said. "That's what Timmy is going to do. He's an unbelievable competitor." Kelly's comments come after Mark Sanchez suggested Tebow is just there to conduct drills in the offseason. We'll take Sanchez's side on this one.

Mark Sanchez said the Eagles signed Tim Tebow as a camp arm while Sam Bradford recovers from his knee injury.

"He's obviously a great guy, he works hard. And we needed another guy to throw while Sam's still recovering," Sanchez said. It is always exciting when the Sanchez-Tebow circus comes to town. Of course, if the Eagles really just wanted a guy to throw while Bradford was sidelined, they would have signed someone who could actually throw. Tebow's chances of making the final roster are slim, but he would not be on the roster if coach Chip Kelly thought he was nothing more than a camp arm.

Personnel executive Ed Marynowitz confirmed the Eagles see Tim Tebow as a quarterback only.

As expected, there's been chatter Chip Kelly will find a role for Tebow as a short-yardage back, tight end or H-back. But he will compete as a quarterback, where the No. 3 job behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez is unsettled. "We brought Tim in for a workout and obviously we were intrigued with what we saw there," Marynowtiz said. "He had improved since the last time we saw him here, which was with New England." Online sportsbook Bovada has installed Tebow as -200 favorite to get cut before Week 1.

Tim Tebow's one-year contract with the Eagles is worth $660,000 and contains zero guaranteed money.

It's the bare minimum. The Philadelphia Inquirer has characterized Tebow's chances of landing a 53-man roster spot as "long," and Tebow's contract supports that. At best, he'll be the No. 3 behind Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.

The Philadelphia Inquirer considers Tim Tebow's chances of making the Eagles' final roster "long."

Back in April of 2013, coach Chip Kelly said "repetitive accuracy" is the "No. 1 quality" he's looking for in a quarterback. While at Oregon in 2011, Kelly said, "I look for a quarterback who can run and not a running back who can throw. ... We are not a Tim Tebow type of quarterback team." Chip has clearly come around a bit on Tebow, who was added Sunday as a quarterback. But the fact remains this is a street free agent who hasn't played since 2012 and comes in as the No. 5 player at a position the Eagles will keep three. Tebow has an uphill battle on his hands to prove he has value.

Eagles agreed to terms with QB Tim Tebow on a one-year contract.

Although the move will generate countless headlines, Tebow is a flier signing as the Eagles begin their offseason program. Sam Bradford is the penciled-in starter with Mark Sanchez backing him up, and G.J. Kinne and Matt Barkley likely vying with Tebow to be third string. The Eagles have tried trading Barkley, but found no takers. Tebow has not played in the NFL since 2012. He spent the 2013 preseason with the Patriots, completing 11-of-30 passes for 145 yards (4.8 YPA), two touchdowns, and two interceptions, taking seven sacks among 37 dropbacks. He did rush 16 times for 91 yards (5.7 YPC). Tebow turns 28 in August.

Eagles football czar Chip Kelly says the team was just doing its "homework" with last week's workout of Tim Tebow.

"I've always been a fan of Tim. We bring in a lot of players for private workouts, it's just he's the one that everyone keeps talking about," Kelly said. Reports had suggested Tebow could end up in Philly if the team moved No. 3 quarterback Matt Barkley, but it doesn't appear likely at this time. More than likely, Tebow will spend 2015 working for the SEC Network.

NBC Washington's Dianna Marie Russini reports there's an "80 percent chance" the Eagles will sign free agent Tim Tebow if they can trade Matt Barkley.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen has reported the Eagles are trying to trade Barkley for a "late" pick, something Russini confirms. If football czar Chip Kelly has serious eyes for Tebow, it's unclear why he wouldn't just release Barkley and his $592,500 salary. He must genuinely believe there's a market for Barkley's services. We find it rather hard to believe. There will undoubtedly be more Tebow updates as the week rolls on.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Eagles are "not planning to sign" free agent Tim Tebow after working him out on Monday.

It's possible the Eagles were just doing Tebow and/or his agent a favor by putting him back on the NFL's radar. The odds remain long that Tebow will resurface on an NFL roster this season, or at any point in the future.
Mar 16 - 4:07 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent QB Tim Tebow is working out for the Eagles on Monday.

Chip Kelly has apparently decided he wasn't already enough of an iconoclast. Essentially banished from the NFL because of his inaccurate passes and unrelenting media frenzy, Tebow has been an ESPN employee since December 2013. In theory, he'd provide the dual-threat element Kelly's offense has mostly lacked since he arrived in the NFL, but Tebow has no semblance of the "repetitive accuracy" Kelly is known to seek. Kelly has become impossible to nail down, but we'd be surprised if he added Tebow to his 90-man roster.

Saskatchewan Roughriders assistant GM Jeremy O'Day believes free agent Tim Tebow "would struggle" in the CFL.

Tebow has never expressed interest in the CFL, but others have suggested he'd be a good fit. Those people don't know anything about the CFL, which is even more pass-oriented than the NFL. "One of his major downfalls is accuracy," said O’Day. "I think he would struggle." Tebow, 27 in August, still hasn't given up on his NFL dream. He's currently working as an ESPN college football analyst.
