Wendell started all 16 games at center for the Pats, who often used a speed-no-huddle offense that increased their play count. Wendell is a former UDFA out of Fresno State. Ryan Wendell - C - Patriots

Ryan Wendell made his first career start at right guard in Week 16, filling in for Dan Connolly (concussion).

The former undrafted free agent and practice squad member graded out very well as run blocker, according to Pro Football Focus. Connolly has yet to be cleared for practice, so Wendell will start again in the finale.

The Pats don't have any interior linemen on the injury report this week, so Wendell is a longshot for playing time in the season finale.

TE	1	Rob Gronkowski Sidelined Patriots owner Robert Kraft confirmed Rob Gronkowski's fourth arm surgery went "as good as he could have hoped." Per Kraft, Gronk will be back "as soon as possible." Right now, "as soon as possible" appears to be mid-August. That's because Gronk is tentatively slated for "minor" back surgery sometime in the next 3-4 weeks.
