Redskins signed DL Ricky Jean-Francois to a three-year, $9 million contract.
The deal includes $4 million guaranteed, and could be worth as much as $11.25 million if Jean-Francois reaches certain incentives. It's a nice chunk of change for a player who got released by the Colts just three days ago. Jean-Francois had a negative Pro Football Focus rating in both of his seasons with the Colts, and generated only 5.5 sacks in 26 games. He was drafted by new Redskins GM Scot McCloughan in San Francisco. Thu, Feb 26, 2015 06:57:00 PM

Free agent DL Ricky Jean-Francois will visit with the Seahawks this week.

Jean-Francois has drawn interest from multiple teams since being released. He's scheduled to meet with Washington and the 49ers in addition to Seattle. Jean-Francois should be seeking a multi-year deal after posting a career-high 28 tackles and three sacks in 2014.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent DL Ricky Jean-Francois will visit the Redskins and 49ers this week.

Jean-Francois, 28, was released by the Colts on Monday in a salary-cap move. He played for the 49ers under new coach Jim Tomsula from 2009-2012 and could be an option to replace Justin Smith at right end if Smith retires. In D.C., Jean-Francois would be an option to replace free agent LE Jarvis Jenkins.

Colts released DE Ricky Jean-Francois.

Jean-Francois registered a career-high 28 tackles in 2014, but he was costing the Colts too much money. Releasing Jean-Francois opens up $4.875 million in cap space. The Colts will likely move forward with promising third-year DE Montori Hughes as their starting five-technique across from Arthur Jones.

Colts declared DE Ricky Jean-Francois, S Sergio Brown, OL Mike McGlynn, CB Sheldon Price, OLB Daniel Adongo, OL Joe Reitz, and DT Cory Redding inactive for Week 17 against the Jaguars.

Indianapolis' roster is in pretty good shape one week away from finishing the regular season atop the AFC South by a landslide margin. Jean-Francois has been nursing a foot sprain since the beginning of December.

Colts DE Ricky Jean-Francois has been diagnosed with a sprained foot, and will be sidelined 2-4 weeks.

That timeline has Jean-Francois in danger of missing the rest of the regular season. In the first year of a four-year, $22 million deal, Jean-Francois has managed 19 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 10 games. He missed time earlier this season with a groin injury. He's graded out as the No. 21 3-4 end in Pro Football Focus' ratings. Ricardo Mathews and Fili Moala will pick up the slack in Jean-Francois' absence.

Colts DE Ricky Jean-Francois (groin) will be out 1-2 weeks.

Jean-Francois, the Colts $22 million free-agent pickup, dominated against the Raiders in Week 1 and then got run over by the Dolphins in Week 2. The Colts have signed Lawrence Guy for defensive line depth while RJF heals.

Colts DT Ricky Jean-Francois was forced from Sunday's game against the 49ers with a groin injury.

Jean-Francois left early in the fourth quarter, and did not return. The run stopper has been playing about 66 percent of the Colts' defensive snaps this season.

Colts signed DT Ricky Jean-Francois, formerly of the 49ers, to a four-year, $22 million contract.

Here's the move owner Jim Irsay assured fans they would be "FIRED UP ABOUT." It's just the latest deal from the free-spending Colts, and another questionable contract from GM Ryan Grigson, who had a nearly flawless first year on the job. Jean-Francois can play any spot on the line, but has never been a starter. Per The Sideline View's Adam Caplan, Jean-Francois has never played more than 27 percent of his team's defensive snaps in a single season. Grigson has earned the benefit of the doubt, but it seems like an overpay on the surface, much like Gosder Cherilus (five years, $34.5M) and Erik Walden's (four years, $16M) deals.

The Eagles and free agent DT Ricky Jean-Francois were reportedly "far apart" on dollar figures.

Jean-Francois left a visit with the Eagles and is headed for Indy. His camp no longer considers Philly an option. GM Howie Roseman could very well turn to the draft to fill their vacant 3-4 end spot. There's a ton of them available.

Free agent DT Ricky Jean-Francois is headed to Indianapolis for a visit with Colts officials.

Jean-Francois' Eagles visit has ended and his free-agent tour is continuing. Typically, players do not wind up signing with teams they visit and leave without a deal. Perhaps Philly will call Jean-Francois' agent on the flight.

Free agent DT Ricky Jean-Francois plans to take visits to club facilities before signing with a team.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport names the Titans, Eagles, Saints, and Colts as teams with Jean-Francois on their radar. It sounds like he is unlikely to sign before Wednesday afternoon. Jean-Francois has been in hot demand since the negotiating period began. The versatile utility lineman turned 26 in November.

The Akron Beacon-Journal confirms the Browns have "reached out" to free agent Ricky Jean-Francois.

Jean-Francois' agent hasn't been shy during the legal tampering period, getting his client connected to no fewer than five teams. Jean-Francois would provide versatile depth along the defensive line as the Browns switch to an attacking 3-4 defense.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer says the Browns are "believed to be" interested in free agent DL Ricky Jean-Francois.

Add another to the list of suitors for Jean-Francois. The 6-foot-3, 295-pound 26-year-old lineman is a hot commodity. Cleveland could be in the market for someone to play on the three-man front with Phil Taylor and Ahtyba Rubin.

The Sacramento Bee reports the Eagles are interested in free agent DL Ricky Jean-Francois.

Jean-Francois has had one of the hotter markets since the season ended. He's been connected to upwards of six teams. A bit player in San Francisco for the past four seasons, Jean-Francois has been a fine run defender and can fit in any defense. He would likely play defensive end in Philly.
