According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have "shown interest in taking a look at" free agent RB Javon Ringer.
The Dolphins are going to go through the draft process first, but they may pursue Ringer if they don't end up using a selection on a running back. Ringer, 26, has missed 27 games through his four seasons in the league, and he has totaled just 120 carries for 486 yards and three touchdowns over that span. He'd be veteran depth behind Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas. Apr 11 - 9:38 PM

Free agent Javon Ringer expressed frustration to the Nashville Tennessean over the Titans' signing of Shonn Greene.

"I am happy for Shonn because I know him from playing in the Big Ten, and he’s a good guy. He’s a good running back," Ringer said. "But when they got him I said, ‘Dang, they had some guys who never got a chance to play, so why are they adding someone like that?" Ringer battled knee injuries in his four seasons with the Titans, managing just 120 carries for 486 yards and three touchdowns. He may not be long for the NFL.

Free agent Javon Ringer is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery.

Ringer has battled knee problems since coming out of Michigan State in 2009. They seem to have taken a toll on his burst, as Ringer has become difficult to watch as a runner in recent seasons. He'll have a very soft free agent market.

GM Ruston Webster said he would like to acquire a change-of-pace back.

The Titans don't appear interested in re-signing free agent Javon Ringer, who has missed 27 games due to injury over the last four seasons. Perhaps they'll show some interest in speedy draft prospects such as Clemson's Andre Ellington or North Carolina's Giovani Bernard. Chris Johnson has been remarkably durable, but he does have 1,693 touches on his tires since 2008.

The Nashville Tennessean doesn't expect the Titans to re-sign free agent Javon Ringer.

Ringer appeared in two games in 2012, rushing twice for 14 yards before tearing his MCL. He also battled a severe elbow infection at the season's onset, which almost cost Ringer his arm. The Titans want to employ more of a two-back offense, and Ringer's durability issues have left him unreliable. He also lacks burst and elusiveness as a runner. Ringer may not be long for the NFL.

Titans placed RB Javon Ringer on injured reserve with a torn MCL, ending his season.

S Tracy Wilson was promoted from the practice squad in a corresponding move. Ringer has not been designated for return, so his season is truly over. Ringer would have been healthy in time to contribute this year, but with Chris Johnson finally beyond his early-season struggles, he had become a wasted roster spot with Jamie Harper earning the coaching staff's trust. In the final year of his rookie deal, Ringer will be a free agent at season's end.

The Titans have no plans to place Javon Ringer (torn MCL) on injured reserve.

Ringer is at least four weeks away from playing in a game, but the Titans are being patient. "He's on target like we thought," coach Mike Munchak said. When Ringer does return, he'll handle third-down duties and back up Chris Johnson.

Updating previous items, Javon Ringer will only miss 4-6 weeks with a torn MCL in his left knee.

It's better than the worst-case scenario initially feared by the Titans, which would have cost Ringer the remainder of the season. The 4-6 week timetable could have him back somewhere between Weeks 10 and 12. Jamie Harper will slide into the primary backup tailback role behind Chris Johnson. Ringer is droppable in fantasy leagues and can be replaced by Harper as a CJ?K handcuff.

The Titans reportedly fear that Javon Ringer's left knee injury will end his season.

The injury looked bad on the field, as Ringer's knee bent backwards beneath him after Vikings CB Josh Robinson landed on him at the end of a four-yard reception. Jamie Harper would take over as Tennessee's clear-cut backup if Ringer is lost for the season's remainder. Harper would be worth grabbing in fantasy leagues because Chris Johnson has continued to play like a guy who needs to be benched. (In real life, not just fantasy.)

Javon Ringer left Sunday's game against the Vikings with an ugly looking, potentially serious left knee injury.

Ringer caught a short four-yard pass in the fourth quarter, then was tackled by Vikings CB Josh Robinson. Robinson landed on Ringer's left ankle, which made Ringer's knee bend up backwards underneath him. He was carted off the field after a few minutes. Ringer was playing the entire series after Chris Johnson struggled mightily on Sunday, again. Check back for updates.

Javon Ringer had two rushes for 14 yards in the Titans' Week 4 loss to the Texans.

Ringer didn't even play on all the third downs. He also barely played in the fourth quarter even though the Titans opened that frame down 31-7. The Titans are intent on getting Chris Johnson going and did just that on Sunday. Ringer is just a handcuff.

Javon Ringer (elbow) is practicing in full this week.

Ringer, who has been dealing with an elbow infection, hasn't played a snap in 2012, but it looks like he will make his season debut in Week 4 against the Texans. If he can show anything in the run game, Ringer could start eating into Chris Johnson's early-down work.

Titans declared RB Javon Ringer, MLB Colin McCarthy, OLs Mike Otto and Deuce Lutui, WR Lavelle Hawkins, and S Al Afalava inactive for Week 3 against the Lions.

Ringer is still out with his elbow infection even after putting in a full week of practice. McCarthy suffered an ankle injury in Week 1 against the Patriots. Jordan Babineaux is starting at free safety over Robert Johnson on Sunday, too.

Javon Ringer (elbow) is officially questionable for Week 3.

The "questionable" tag is a bit of a surprise after Ringer got in a week of full practices, but he'll be active, barring a setback. That's bad news for Chris Johnson, whom the Titans will no longer have to endure on third downs. If CJ11-4K keeps averaging 1.1 yards per carry, it won't be long before he starts ceding some early-down work to Ringer.

Javon Ringer (elbow) has resumed practicing.

Barring something unforeseen happening, Ringer will be active for Sunday's tilt with the Lions, and finally ready to start putting heat on struggling lead back Chris Johnson. Ringer could immediately supplant Johnson on third downs.
