Ravens CB Kyle Arrington has agreed to a pay cut to remain with Baltimore.
Arrington signed a three-year deal with the Ravens last offseason after he was cut by the Patriots, but he ended up a colossal flop on the back end in Baltimore and was benched midway through the year. Arrington will be back to compete for a job in a secondary GM Ozzie Newsome hopes to overhaul. Mar 9 - 10:04 AM

Ravens signed CB Kyle Arrington to a three-year contract.

The Ravens had been the favorites for Arrington since his release from the Patriots. His signing adds depth to a secondary that lacked proven options behind Jimmy Smith (Lisfranc surgery) and Lardarius Webb. Arrington is coming off a down 2014, but will provide a much-needed upgrade in the slot. Albeit with some safety help, Arrington matched up with and effectively shut down T.Y. Hilton in New England's two games against the Colts last year. 28-year-old Arrington is a feisty cover man inside the numbers.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Ravens are interested in free agent CB Kyle Arrington.

Ravens beat writers have been hinting at Baltimore's interest in Arrington, but Werder confirms it. RCB Jimmy Smith is coming off Lisfranc surgery, and veteran Lardarius Webb had a down season. The drop-off behind those two on the depth chart is steep. Arrington would address a big need for the Ravens.

The Baltimore Sun believes it's "safe to say" the Ravens are interested in free agent CB Kyle Arrington.

The Ravens got caught woefully short at cornerback following Jimmy Smith's foot injury last season, and fourth-rounder Tray Walker was the only notable addition in the draft or free agency. Baltimore knows Arrington well from its annual battles with the Patriots. Arrington would be a solid slot corner addition.

Patriots released CB Kyle Arrington.

Arrington, the Patriots' primary slot corner since 2010, had two years and $6.5 million remaining on his contract. He was set to count $4.625 against the cap. But none if it was guaranteed as his play tailed off a bit, so he hits the chopping block with an understanding that he could return to New England at a lesser salary. But for now, the Patriots are moving forward without Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner and Arrington -- their top-three corners from last year. Logan Ryan is the favorite for No. 3 duties behind starters Malcolm Butler and Bradley Fletcher.

Patriots CB Kyle Arrington was forced from New England's Week 15 game against the Dolphins with a right-hamstring injury, and will not return.

The Pats' No. 3 corner went down before the break, and was ruled out after halftime. He should be considered week to week.

Patriots CB Kyle Arrington is participating in the team's offseason conditioning program.

Arrington suffered the injury last September and played through it all year, still grading out as a top-20 cornerback in Pro Football Focus' ratings. He should maintain a firm hold on New England's slot corner position. Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner (after his four-game suspension ends) will start outside.

Patriots CB Kyle Arrington underwent successful groin surgery on Friday.

Arrington will be sidelined roughly six weeks and is expected to be ready for training camp. He appeared in all 16 games this season (12 starts) and graded out as a top-20 corner by Pro Football Focus. Arrington signed a four-year, $16 million contract with New England last March and will return at a $2 million base salary in 2014.

Patriots CB Kyle Arrington will undergo groin surgery Friday.

Arrington will be sidelined roughly six weeks. He appeared in all 16 games for the fourth consecutive season, starting a dozen of them. Arrington does his best work in the slot and graded out as a top-20 corner over at Pro Football Focus. He inked a four-year, $16 million contract with New England last March.

ESPN Boston "wouldn't be surprised" if Kyle Arrington starts at right cornerback.

Arrington was the Patriots' slot corner last season, but could be forced to start opposite Aqib Talib with Alfonzo Dennard questionable for training camp and possibly facing a suspension. Ras-I Dowling will also get an extended look, while third-round pick Logan Ryan projects as a backup and special teamer.

Patriots re-signed CB Kyle Arrington to a four-year, $16 million contract.

The deal includes $8.5 million guaranteed. With the Pats yet to re-sign Aqib Talib or find a viable replacement, they've re-upped a key piece of depth. Arrington has started at least 12 games each of the past three seasons, but struggled mightily in 2012 before being demoted to nickel back. He is one of the NFL's premier slot corners, but the Pats don't want to enter 2013 with Arrington on the outside. Considering the way the cornerback market has collapsed, Talib should be back soon enough. Arrington is making a lot to man the slot.

Free agent CB Kyle Arrington hopes to re-sign with the Patriots, but says his agent fielded "several" inquiries on Saturday.

"I started something four years ago in New England I think both sides would definitely love to see through," he said. The Pats are actively scouring the loaded cornerback market, with Arrington on the back-burner. Arrington could end up returning at a team-friendly price in the second wave of free agency.

ESPN Boston suspects free agent CB Kyle Arrington will get more money on the open market than the Patriots are willing to give him.

Arrington tumbled down the depth chart last season, settling in as the nickel back in the second half of the year and struggling. The Patriots are thin at corner, but they'll likely make re-signing Aqib Talib a priority. Arrington is our No. 18 corner available in free agency. Talib is No. 1.

Sources tell the Boston Herald the Patriots will meet with free agent CB Kyle Arrington's rep at the Combine.

It's the sides' first known meeting. Each has expressed a desire to get a new deal done. With CB Alfonzo Dennard facing possible jail time, preventing Arrington from reaching the open market may have taken on an added urgency.

The Patriots have not yet engaged in formal contract negotiations with impending free agent CB Kyle Arrington.

Per the Boston Herald, Arrington's "top priority" involves remaining in New England. But after an up-and-down season that saw him get benched at times, it's unclear how much the Patriots are willing to spend. Fellow free agents Aqib Talib, Sebastian Vollmer, and Wes Welker will be addressed first.
