Eagles signed DE Everette Brown and CB Trevard Lindley to two-year contracts.
They join the seven players Philadelphia signed on Monday. A second-round pick of the Panthers in 2009, Brown has appeared in just three games since 2010. Lindley has survived Eagles' "final cuts' each of the past two years only to still be waived before Week 1. Jan 2 - 4:12 PM

Eagles worked out free agent DE Everette Brown.

Brown's market has been dead silent since he couldn't make the Lions out of training camp, but perhaps the soon-to-be rebuilding Eagles are mulling giving him a look down the stretch of a lost season. The 2009 second-round pick has appeared in just three games since 2010, and made only three career starts.

Lions signed DE Everette Brown to a one-year contract.

The Panthers' 2009 second-rounder is worth a look-see as a reclamation project under Jim Schwartz and Gunther Cunningham in Detroit. If it works, Brown could go the Aaron Maybin route as a situational pass rusher.

The Lions will reportedly host free agent DE/OLB Everette Brown.

Brown went unclaimed after the Chargers waived him a week ago. The 43rd overall pick in the 2009 draft could be signed to a league-minimum contract as a training camp flier.

Chargers waived DE/OLB Everette Brown, WR Bryan Walters, and ILB Nate Triplett.

Brown has a second-round pedigree from 2009, but he played fewer than 30 defensive snaps last season. Walters was kept on the roster over Laurent Robinson coming out of training camp last summer.

Chargers signed DE/OLB Everette Brown, formerly of the Panthers.

The No. 43 pick in the 2009 draft, Brown has yet to play this season despite workouts with several teams. In 28 games with the Panthers, Brown recorded 35 tackles and six sacks. The Bolts will move him to outside linebacker, hoping he can provide a situational pass-rushing presence.

The Giants worked out free agent DE Everette Brown on Monday.

It's Brown's fourth workout since he was waived by the Panthers at final cuts. With the Giants on bye this week, no signing is likely imminent, but Brown should be on speed dial in case LE Justin Tuck (neck, groin) can't give it a go in Week 8.

The Titans have scheduled a workout this week for free agent DE Everette Brown.

Brown worked out for New England last week, but wasn't signed. Three of the Titans' ends (Jason Jones, William Hayes, and Derrick Morgan) are nursing injuries, though they're all expected back early in the season. The Titans have tried to get bigger in the front four, and Brown (6'1/256) doesn't fit that approach.

The Patriots worked out free agent DE Everette Brown this week.

Brown was in for a tryout with a host of other players. The Patriots appear to have transitioned to a 4-3 defense, but will probably keep plenty of 3-4 looks in the playbook. Brown would be best suited as a 3-4 outside 'backer.

Former Panthers DE Everette Brown passed through waivers unclaimed Monday and is now an unrestricted free agent.

Brown only had a $480K salary, so the league must know something about him we don't. The 43rd pick in the 2009 draft, Brown has flashed explosive rush ability but is a complete zero against the run. He needs to go to a 3-4 team.

Panthers waived DE Everette Brown.

Brown has put up decent numbers since being taken in the second round in 2009, tallying 47 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 28 games. He fell to fourth on the depth chart at defensive end during training camp, however. Although he's too under-sized (6-foot-1, 256 pounds) to be effective against the run, his pass-rushing ability should make it relatively easy for him to latch on elsewhere.

Panthers DE Everette Brown struggled in a spot start in Thursday's third preseason game.

Greg Hardy is the starter at right end, but was held out last night as a precaution. The Panthers bumped Brown ahead of Eric Norwood, allowing the Bengals to run right over the right side of the Panthers' defense. With top corner Chris Gamble also struggling, Carolina's defense is becoming a major concern.

The Panthers have demoted RE Everette Brown out of the starting lineup in favor of Eric Norwood.

Coach Ron Rivera explained that Norwood passed Brown because he's been "more physical." Norwood, an undersized (6'0/246) former linebacker, was the 124th pick in the 2010 draft. Brown was the 43rd pick in the 2009 draft, and the Panthers traded a future first-round pick to get him. That pick turned out to be Mike Iupati, who looks like a future Pro Bowler in San Francisco.

Panthers placed DE Everette Brown on injured reserve with a fractured wrist, ending his season.

Brown was part of a committee that tried to replace departed Julius Peppers. The 2009 second-round pick played mostly as a nickel rusher, rotating in for four sacks. Brown's 2011 IPD outlook will depend on the return of free agent Charles Johnson, and of course whomever is tabbed to be the next coach.

Panthers DE Everette Brown left Sunday's game against the Falcons in the fourth quarter with a wrist injury and did not return.

Brown had 1 1/2 sacks before leaving. The severity of the nickel rusher's injury is unknown.
