Seahawks C Max Unger (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 10.

They'll roll with Lemuel Jeanpierre at Atlanta. Seattle has been overcoming offensive line problems all year. Coach Pete Carroll did hint Friday the Seahawks have a chance to get RT Breno Giacomini (knee) back in Week 11.

Seahawks C Max Unger is done for the day in Week 9 with a concussion.

Seattle has overcome a bevy of offensive line injuries and still has just one loss on the season. Unger's status for Week 10 is uncertain.

Seahawks C Max Unger (arm) is expected to play Sunday against the Titans.

Unger missed the last two games with an upper arm injury. He was a full participant in practice this week and is officially listed as probable. The Seahawks are still playing without both of their starting tackles, but his return is an upgrade for Marshawn Lynch and the running game.

Seahawks declared C Max Unger, RT Breno Giacomini, S Jeron Johnson, RB Spencer Ware, LB John Lotulelei, DE Benson Mayowa, and DT Jordan Hill inactive for Week 4 against the Texans.

The Seahawks will be down three starting offensive linemen. LT Russell Okung (toe) is on short-term injured reserve, Unger is dealing with an arm injury, and Giacomini has a balky knee. Ware is battling a sprained ankle.

Seahawks C Max Unger (arm) and RT Breno Giacomini (knee) are both listed as doubtful for Week 4 against the Texans.

They're both offensive line starters. It's a fairly large concern as the Seahawks get set to do battle with J.J. Watt and Antonio Smith on Sunday.

Seahawks C Max Unger triggered an escalator in his contract, raising his 2013 salary from $4 million to $4.9 million.

Unger just signed an extension last offseason. He went on to start all 16 games in 2012, earning a first-team All-Pro selection and making his first Pro Bowl team. Pro Football Focus graded him out as the No. 3 center in the NFL. The former Oregon Duck is signed through 2016.

Seahawks signed C Max Unger to a multi-year extension.

26-year-old Unger, a second-round pick in the 2009 draft, overcame durability issues in 2011 to start 15 games, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 17 overall center. PFF rated Unger as a strong pass blocker, but below-average run blocker. The Seahawks believe they've found their center of the future, and weren't going to risk losing Unger to free agency in 2013. Seattle's offensive line has a lot of potential this season, but it must stay healthy. Durability has been an issue at all five positions over the past few years, and we placed the O-Line 25th in our May rankings. A link to that column can be accessed below.

Seahawks C Max Unger arrived to team headquarters Tuesday sporting crutches and a walking boot.

OL coach Tom Cable called Unger's injury a "sore foot," suggesting his center could be back when the Seahawks come out of the bye to face the Browns in Week 7. Seattle's offensive line was just beginning to hit its stride the past two weeks after an ugly start.

Seahawks GM John Schneider envisions Max Unger as a center, not a right guard as he played under Seattle's old regime.

Unger didn't embarrass himself in 13 starts at guard in 2009, but he was more comfortable at the pivot spot in three appearances to close out that year. The 49th pick in the '09 draft missed all but one game last season with a turf-toe injury. Schneider's comments would seem to indicate that incumbent center Chris Spencer, an unrestricted free agent, won't be back.

Coach Pete Carroll described RG Max Unger's season-ending injury as a "turf toe" like malady.

The injury required surgery, so it was a serious case. Unger needs three months of rehab, making the decision to place him on injured reserve an easy one. The 2009 No. 44 overall pick should still return as a starter in 2011.

Seahawks placed RG Max Unger (toe) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Details aren't yet in, but it sounds like the injury to Unger's big left toe is more serious than turf toe. Unger was perhaps the Seahawks' best combination of pass- and run-blocking, so this a blow to the fantasy potential of Matt Hasselbeck and Justin Forsett. Seattle's offensive line was already a major concern heading into the season.

Seahawks RG Max Unger has been ruled out for Week 2 with a toe injury.

It sounds like turf toe, or at the very least a severe sprain. Unger, the 49th overall pick in last year's draft, was one of Seattle's top pass-blocking linemen as a rookie. The team is very thin on the line, so it's a blow.
Mon, Sep 13, 2010 05:30:00 PM

Coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Max Unger will stay at right guard, with Chris Spencer moving back into the lineup at center.

Unger had displaced Spencer at center late last season, but new offensive line coach Alex Gibbs likes the veteran in the middle. If Spencer can stay injury-free, the alignment should help the Seahawks' rushing attack.
Thu, Apr 29, 2010 12:26:00 PM

The Seahawks have moved rookie Max Unger to center, replacing Chris Spencer.

Coach Jim Mora vilified his front five after the team's Week 14 loss, and Spencer was at the center of his criticism. Unger, Seattle's right guard in the first 13 games, will be replaced by a combo of Spencer and Mike Gibson. The Seahawks' offensive line is unlikely to be better in the last three weeks.
