Cardinals declared OG Alex Boone, RB D.J. Foster, QB Blaine Gabbert, OT D.J. Humphries, DL Robert Nkemdiche, WR Chad Williams and LB Scooby Wright III inactive for Week 5 against the Eagles.
Earl Watford will fill in at left guard with Boone nursing a strained pectoral. Humphries is out with a knee issue while Nkemdiche is still battling a calf injury. The rest are healthy scratches. John Brown (quad) and J.J. Nelson (hamstring, tooth) are both active for Week 5. Oct 8 - 11:38 AM

Cardinals OG Alex Boone (pectoral) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday.

Boone sat out last week's game with a strained pectoral but should be good to go for Sunday's game in Philadelphia. With Mike Iupati (elbow) out for the year, Boone is likely to start at left guard for Arizona.
Oct 4 - 5:18 PM

Cardinals OG Alex Boone (pectoral) is out for Week 4 against the 49ers.

Arizona also placed LG Mike Iupati on injured reserve earlier this week. Their offensive line was not good prior to these injuries, and now it could really be in trouble. Carson Palmer will likely find himself under pressure often the next couple weeks.
Sep 30 - 12:26 PM

Cardinals OG Alex Boone suffered a strained pec on Monday night.

The injury is believed to be minor, but Boone will undergo an MRI early in the week. Boone had been filling in at left guard, but Mike Iupati is expected back this week. Boone could kick over to the right side once he is healthy.
Sep 26 - 11:24 AM

Cardinals signed OG Alex Boone, formerly of the Vikings, to a one-year contract.

Boone could slide in as an immediate starter at right guard, supplanting Evan Boehm. A 2016 fourth-rounder, Boehm made only one rookie start. Boone had a fairly lousy 2016 with Minnesota, but didn't go off the career deep end. Still only 30, he could bounce back for Arizona. At the very least, he will provide depth where there previously was none.
Sep 5 - 4:09 PM

The Palm Beach Post considers the Dolphins a fit for free agent LG Alex Boone.

Boone is one of the bigger names available after his release from Minnesota. He would give Miami some needed depth to a perennially injured offensive line. With Ted Larsen sidelined, Boone could push LG Anthony Steen for the Week 1 job.
Sep 2 - 8:45 PM

Vikings released LG Alex Boone.

Signed to a "four-year, $26.8 million" contract just last year, Boone was part of the problem on the Vikings' horrendous offensive line last season as he battled hip and concussion issues. The Vikings will eat $3.4 million in a dead money hit this year but save $3.3 million. With Boone gone, the Vikings will likely go with a line of LT Riley Reiff, LG Nick Easton, C Pat Elflein, RG Joe Berger, and RT Mike Remmers. Boone turned 30 this year but should get another job quickly.
Sep 2 - 3:37 PM

The Vikings could move Alex Boone to left tackle.

Boone has been Minnesota's best offensive lineman this year, grading out positively in pass blocking at PFF. T.J. Clemmings is the Vikings only other option at left tackle.

Vikings LG Alex Boone (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Lions.

Boone is also listed with shoulder and knee issues, but the concussion he suffered last week against the Bears is what kept him out all week. Jeremiah Sirles will get the start at left guard for an offensive line which seems to be getting worse every game.

Vikings LG Alex Boone exited Week 8 against the Bears to be evaluated for a concussion.

He was later officially diagnosed. The Vikings' big-money addition on offense as a free agent, Boone has been injured and ineffective the first half of the season. This offensive line is the worst in football. Jeremiah Sirles replaced Boone in the lineup.

Vikings LG Alex Boone (hip) expects to play Monday night.

Boone was noncommittal on his status early in the week. He's been removed from the injury report after practicing fully Saturday. Boone's run blocking is down this year, but he's mostly held up in pass protection.

Vikings LG Alex Boone (hip) practiced again on Saturday.

Boone did not finish Week 3 because of a hip injury, but he has now practiced two days in a row. He will likely be listed as limited again, but he is on track to play Monday night.

Vikings LG Alex Boone (hip) "should be OK" for Week 4.

Boone was knocked out after 19 snaps Sunday, but his MRI came back clean. Boone is hardly an impact player, but the Vikings' shaky line can't afford any more injuries.
Mon, Sep 26, 2016 03:10:00 PM

Vikings LG Alex Boone was forced from Sunday's game against the Panthers with a hip injury.

Boone was listed as "questionable" in the first half, but remained absent after the break. Jeremiah Sirles will finish the game at left guard. It's a huge concern for an already gutted line.

Vikings agreed to terms with OG Alex Boone, formerly of the 49ers, on a four-year, $26.8 million contract.

It's an indication the Vikings expect to lose free agent Mike Harris. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Boone will slide in at left guard, kicking Brandon Fusco back to the right side. A starter in San Francisco each of the past four seasons, Boone has fallen off since a monster 2012, but is still better than replacement-level. Going on 29, he's also reasonably durable.
