Steelers waived/released C Doug Legursky, RB Josh Harris, RB Jawon Chisholm, DL Matt Conrath, DL Ethan Hemer, DL Mike Thornton, S Jordan Dangerfield, S Alden Darby, S Gerod Holliman, OL Reese Dismukes, OL B.J. Finney, CB Kevin Fogg, CB B.W. Webb, LB L.J. Fort, LB Shayon Green, LB Howard Jones, WR Shakim Phillips and WR Jarrod West.

Legursky will likely be brought back after Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) is placed on IR/recall this weekend. Pittsburgh also waived/injured OL Kelvin Palmer and OL Mitchell Van Dyk. These moves get Pittsburgh to the 53-man roster limit.
Sep 5 - 11:18 AM

Steelers signed C Doug Legursky.

Legursky has started 30 games in his career including 17 for the Steelers from 2009-2012. He will offer nice veteran depth until Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) returns. David Nelson (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Chargers placed G/C Doug Legursky on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

Legursky is not an impact player, but it's a ridiculous blow for a Chargers offensive line that will now be moving onto its fourth center of 2014. Legursky was filling in for Rich Ohrnberger (back), who himself had taken over for Nick Hardwick (nick, injured reserve). The Bolts will likely roll with third-rounder Chris Watt until Ohrnberger is ready to return. An ex-Bill and Steeler, Legursky is 28, and headed to free agency.

Chargers C Doug Legursky left Sunday's Week 5 game against the Jets with a possible knee injury.

Legursky had to be carted off, suggesting a serious injury. It would be a major blow to the Chargers, as first-string center Nick Hardwick (neck) is already out for the year.

Chargers signed G/C Doug Legursky.

The Chargers are grasping at straws after losing 11-year veteran Nick Hardwick to a season-ending neck injury. They'll have to roll with Rich Ohrnberger at center going forward, with Legursky as an emergency reserve.

The Jets worked free agent G/C Doug Legursky on Tuesday.

Healthy along their interior line, the Jets are likely just updating their emergency list. Legursky has 28 games of starting experience.

Bills released G/C Doug Legursky.

Buffalo will keep Kraig Urbik despite his $3.45 million cap hit. A five-year veteran, Legursky started 11 games for the Bills last season and should be able to find reserve work.

Bills G/C Doug Legursky was carted off the field with a potentially serious left knee injury during Thursday night's preseason finale.

Legursky got his left leg rolled up underneath him, and players were immediately calling for trainers. He had already lost the competition for the starting left guard job to Colin Brown, but Legursky can back up all three interior line spots. The Bills have had a rough summer from an injury standpoint.

Coach Doug Marrone said he's disappointed in the left guard competition so far.

Predictably, both Doug Legursky and Colin Brown have been disappointing. Chris Scott was waived last week. Marrone went as far to say that he's considering someone else for the first-team reps. It's a reminder that the Bills' offensive line is a good bet to regress after losing Andy Levitre in free agency.

Bills G/C Doug Legursky has a legitimate chance to win the starting left guard spot.

When Legursky was signed earlier this month, it was assumed he was brought in as depth at center behind Eric Wood. Head coach Doug Marrone has declared an open competition at left guard, and singled out Legursky and Colin Brown as the front-runners for the job.

Bills signed G/C Doug Legursky.

Buffalo keeps collecting former Steelers offensive linemen. Legursky, who worked out for the Bills on Tuesday, will provide depth behind starting center Eric Wood. He can also play guard in a pinch. Legursky made a pair of starts in place of the injured Maurkice Pouncey in 2012, and also started one game at left guard.

The Bills worked out free agent OGs Doug Legursky and Tyronne Green Tuesday.

The Bills are looking for veteran depth after losing Andy Levitre and Chad Rinehart in free agency. Green was released by the Patriots just last week. Legursky appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers last season, making three starts. He also started 10 games in 2011.

Steelers re-signed restricted free agent LG Doug Legursky to a one-year, $1.26 million contract.

Legursky is currently recovering from shoulder surgery. The 26-year-old former undrafted free agent played center at Marshall, but made six of his ten 2011 starts at guard. Pro Football Focus graded him poorly across the board.

Steelers LG Doug Legursky is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery on Friday.

Legursky originally injured his left shoulder in late September versus the Colts and aggravated it several times throughout the season. His recovery timetable is not yet known. Legursky will be back in Pittsburgh as a restricted free agent, though he may have to fight to keep his starting job.
