Pat Chung's contract with the Eagles includes $4.25M guaranteed over 2013 and 2014.
Officially, it's a three-year deal worth $10 million and includes a $2.85 million roster bonus. It confirms that the Eagles fully expect Chung to step in and start for the foreseeable future. They can safely take the plunge because coach Chip Kelly was on staff at Oregon while Chung was there. Chung will be a recommended IDP target in 2013 as the Eagles' in-the-box, every-down safety. Eagles signed S Pat Chung, formerly of the Patriots, to a three-year contract.

Chung played at Oregon while coach Chip Kelly was the offensive coordinator. He easily becomes the Eagles' best safety, despite falling out of favor in New England. Chung is still just 25, and is a physical player at 5-foot-11 and 212 pounds.

ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss says teams he's talked to have questions about free agent S Patrick Chung's health.

Chung has missed 14 games over the last three seasons while dealing with shoulder, foot, and thumb injuries, among others. Reiss believes Chung may be seeking a one-year, prove-it deal in an effort to reestablish some value. He won't be returning to New England.

ESPN Boston reiterates that free agent SS Pat Chung's days with the Patriots are likely over.

The Pats appear set at safety with Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory and Tavon Wilson. Chung played just two snaps in the AFC Championship game and will be looking for playing time. Previous speculation had the safety-needy Eagles potentially calling. Chung could be a steal, as he's still just 25 and showed a physical skill set before falling out of favor in New England.

The Philadelphia Inquirer says the Eagles could have interest in free agent SS Patrick Chung.

Chung is unlikely to be re-signed by the Patriots after being a sub-package player in 2012. With the Eagles looking to upgrade at safety, Chung could be targeted as an upgrade on Kurt Coleman.

WEEI Boston agrees with ESPN Boston that free agent SS Pat Chung is unlikely to be re-signed by the Patriots.

Chung has been injury plagued in back-to-back years and was a bit player behind Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory, and Tavon Wilson down the 2012 stretch. A playmaker when healthy, Chung should still have a solid free agent market. He can play both safety spots and has six picks over the past three seasons.

ESPN Boston says the "odds are against" impending free agent SS Pat Chung re-signing with the Patriots.

Chung's injury woes crippled his career in New England. Since a breakout 2010 campaign that saw him post 96 tackles and three interceptions in 14 games, he's missed 12 games over the last two seasons. The Pats appear ready to press on with Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory and Tavon Wilson as their top-three safeties.

Patriots SS Pat Chung (shoulder, hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Bills.

Chung and FS Steve Gregory (hip) are both listed as questionable, but that's hardly an indication of where they are physically. Chung was limited in practice this week and ESPN Boston doesn't expect him to be available for Sunday's game. The Patriots will be forced to start Devin McCourty at safety if Chung and Gregory are ruled out.

Patriots SS Pat Chung will miss his second consecutive game with a shoulder injury.

The absences of Chung and FS Steve Gregory (hip) have contributed to the Patriots' pass defense woes the past two weeks. Tavon Wilson and Devin McCourty filled in as the starting safeties a week ago.

Patriots SS Pat Chung was forced from Sunday's loss to the Seahawks in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury, and did not return.

Chung was billed as "questionable" to return, so it's possible his injury isn't all that serious. Chung had three tackles before going down, and was replaced by Sterling Moore.

Patriots SS Patrick Chung left Monday night's preseason game early with an undisclosed injury.

He's not expected to return. Chung headed to the locker room after teaming up with Sterling Moore for a tackle at the end of the first quarter. Heading into a contract season, Chung has every motivation to stay on the field this season.

The Boston Globe expects the Patriots to allow SS Pat Chung to play out the final year of his contract.

After seeing the deals that Eric Weddle and Michael Griffin have commanded lately, Chung is unlikely to accept a second-tier extension. That's because when healthy, he's been a difference-maker. In 22 career starts, Chung has racked up 161 tackles, four interceptions, one sack and 13 passes defensed. The Globe suggests that the Pats could use the franchise tag as leverage next offseason.

The Patriots have yet to approach contract-year SS Pat Chung about an extension.

It's no coincidence that the Pats defense picked up late in the season, when Chung returned from a foot injury. After missing eight games in 2011, Chung is expected to command a contract in the neighborhood of $5-7 million per season. Chung insists the contract situation won't affect him this season.

Patriots SS Pat Chung (knee) and LG Logan Mankins (knee) are active for the Divisional round playoff game against the Broncos.

The most important player in New England's secondary, Chung was added to the injury report on Friday. Mankins will tough it out after limping through practices this week. Patriots inactives: RT Sebastian Vollmer, RB Shane Vereen, QB Ryan Mallett, DT Ron Brace, LB Gary Guyton, OG Donald Thomas, and CB Nate Jones.

Patriots SS Pat Chung was added to the Divisional round injury report, and is listed as questionable with a knee injury.

Chung was "limited" in Friday's practice, necessitating the addition. He practiced fully on Thursday. There are no indications that Chung suffered a setback. He should be all systems go for this weekend's game against Denver.
