The Bills' offensive linemen are getting in better shape in anticipation of a more uptempo attack in 2013.
"Since April 1 our strength training and conditioning has been completely different than it had been in the past," C Eric Wood said. "A lot more up-tempo, less about functional movements and stuff and more about just kind of getting after it. More sprints and more agility work." It's just the latest indication new coach Doug Marrone plans to push the pace with his "K-Gun" offense, but its success is going to be far more dependent on competent quarterback play than ratcheting up the speed. Bills C Eric Wood says there's interest from "both sides" in a new deal, but that there have yet to be talks.

Wood is going into the final year of his rookie contract. "(With) a GM change and a big-time free agent at safety that we'd like to get re-signed ... I know I'm not top priority right now," Wood said. "Hopefully we can get a deal done at some point, maybe this summer." The No. 28 overall pick of the 2009 draft, Wood graded out as the No. 25 center in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season. He was better in 2011, but has missed 17 games in four years because of injury. Wood could be best off betting that he can stay healthy and hitting the open market next winter.

The Bills have yet to approach C Eric Wood about a contract extension.

Wood is entering the final year of his rookie deal, but there isn't any rush to extend him given his injury history. A first-round pick in 2009, Wood has yet to play a full season. He started a career-best 14 games at center in 2012.

Bills C Eric Wood's base salary will be up from $925,000 to $2.3 million in 2013 after he hit escalators in his rookie contract.

Wood has started 47 games over his first four seasons after being the No. 28 overall pick out of Louisville in 2009. He played through a torn MCL in his knee for the final two weeks of the 2012 season, but should be ready for OTAs. Wood has proven to be a steady pass blocker as he enters the final year of his contract.

Bills C Eric Wood (torn MCL) is listed as questionable for Week 16 against Miami.

Barring any setbacks, Wood is expected return after missing the last two weeks with an MCL injury. The Bills also expect to have LG Andy Levitre (knee) available for Sunday's game. TE Scott Chandler (foot) is listed as probable.

Bills C Eric Wood (torn MCL) is "planning to play Sunday."

Wood was feared lost for the season when he went down in Week 13, but sounds like he'll be at center against Miami. "I want to come back this week and give us a little spark up front and see if I can’t help our offense get back on track," Wood said Wednesday. Wood was having a rough season before going down, but it's still good news for Ryan Fitzpatrick and C.J. Spiller.

Bills C Eric Wood may miss the rest of the season with a torn MCL.

He'll miss at least two weeks, and probably the last four games if it's determined Wood needs surgery. Buffalo's best offensive lineman, Wood has graded out this season as a top-12 pass-blocking center, according to Pro Football Focus. David Snow will take over as the Bills' center.

Bills C Eric Wood (ACL surgery) will play in his second straight preseason game against the Steelers Saturday.

Wood wasn't originally expected to suit up for Buffalo's second exhibition tilt, so he's well ahead of schedule. He'll be ready to roll for Week 1.

Bills C Eric Wood (ACL surgery) is unlikely to play in the team’s first preseason game on Thursday.

Coach Chan Gailey doesn't anticipate Wood returning until, at least, the third preseason game on August 25, but he figures to be back in the starting lineup by Week 1. Wood has started 31 games since being taken in the first round back in 2009.

Bills C Eric Wood (ACL surgery) has resumed participating in team drills.

Wood is still being eased back in, but this is a positive sign that he will be in the starting lineup for the season opener. While the left tackle spot has been an issue in pass protection thus far, this is still shaping up as a fine run-blocking O-Line.

Bills C Eric Wood (ACL surgery) expects to be "full go" for training camp.

"I’m in great shape and obviously I haven’t tested it in any practice or anything, but a lot of that is just being cautious," Wood said. "We didn’t want to do anything in the spring that would set me back." Coach Chan Gailey has hinted Wood's camp reps could be limited out of an abundance of caution, but he'll be ready to roll for Week 1 barring setbacks.

Bills C Eric Wood (ACL surgery) and CB Terrence McGee (patella tendon surgery) are expected to be cleared for training camp, even if they're both eased back in.

"Yes they'll be ready," coach Chan Gailey said. "Now whether they can practice every day, it might be every other day to start with and then work them slowly in." The Bills will waste no time throwing Wood back into the starting lineup, though McGee will have to fight for snaps this season.

Bills C Eric Wood ran at "100 percent body weight" Tuesday for the first time since undergoing ACL surgery in November.

Now 110 days removed from the procedure, Wood is on track to participate in training camp. Barring a setback, he'll be snapping to Ryan Fitzpatrick in Week 1.

Bills C Eric Wood (torn ACL, injured reserve) is expected to require a 6-9 month timetable to come back from reconstructive knee surgery.

The torn ACL marks the second time in three years Wood will be rehabbing a significant injury, but the Bills remain optimistic that he'll be ready for the start of training camp. Wood's surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews on November 13. He is still on schedule to return as the starter for 2012.

Bills C Eric Wood (injured reserve) underwent surgery Thursday to repair his torn right ACL.

Wood tweeted that the surgery was successful, of course. What's important to note is that the surgery occurred within days of the injury, an indication that this was a clean tear with no additional damage. Wood has a good chance to be back to full speed by the start of training camp.
