Other than quality special teams work, McBath has put nothing on tape since the Broncos took him in the second round of the 2009 draft. The Niners appear to be taking a flier while they wait for FS Dashon Goldson to sign his franchise tender.

McBath, 26, has been a bust as the 48th overall pick in the 2009 draft. Though more quietly than Knowshon Moreno, he was one of Josh McDaniels' bigger blunders in Denver. McBath has started one game through three NFL seasons.

The Jags' secondary has been decimated by injury, meaning practice squad types like Ashton Youboty and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah have been pressed into significant roles. The Jaguars travel to Tennessee in Week 16.

Jaguars signed DB Darcel McBath, formerly of the Broncos.

The Jags announced McBath as a cornerback, even though he mostly played safety at Texas Tech and with the Broncos. He'll give Jacksonville a three-game audition to perhaps be a member of the 53-man roster in 2012.

Broncos waived S Darcel McBath.

Denver's 2009 second-round haul will go down as one of the worst draft rounds in NFL history. McBath, Richard Quinn, and Alphonso Smith are all gone before their third season with the Broncos. McBath has been held back by injuries, but he at least led the team in special teams tackles as a rookie. The other two contributed nothing.

Darcel McBath is expected to get a real chance to start at free safety for the Broncos in 2011.

The 48th overall pick in the 2009 draft, McBath would be more on the radar if he wasn't so injury prone. Quad and ankle problems limited him to six appearances last season. He's a candidate to replace declining Brian Dawkins, allowing incumbent free safety Renaldo Hill to move to strong safety.

Broncos interim coach Eric Studesville expects S Darcel McBath (quad) back in Week 15, but is unsure of the status of FS Brian Dawkins (knee).

McBath will provide more depth to a safety unit that's dealt with numerous injuries. He's been burned on multiple occasions this season, though, so don't expect him to provide much of a boost.

The Broncos secondary has been torched all night, so consider this injury to insult. The second year pro has played sparingly in 2010 after starting 13 games his rookie season.

No surprises for the Broncos as they prepare to play in Wembley Stadium. Eddie Royal (groin) and Brian Dawkins (knee) are both full gos, as expected.

It looked like McBath got tangled up with teammate Haloti Ngata. He will not return.

Darcel McBath is hoping to improve upon his rookie season and make a larger impact in 2010.

McBath had a pair of interceptions and led the team in special teams tackles in a rookie campaign that ended early due to a broken forearm. The safety is hoping to use training camp as a springboard to more playing time, but he's block by Brian Dawkins and Renaldo Hill.

Broncos S Darcel McBath indicated that he's now recovered from the broken forearm that ended his season in December.

"My injury wasn't as significant as a lot of people thought," McBath said. "I'm good now. Minor setback." Last year's 48th overall pick led the Broncos with 11 special teams tackles despite missing the final three games of the season.

Broncos placed S Darcel McBath on injured reserve with a broken forearm, ending his season.

McBath, the 48th overall pick in April, was injured in Denver's Week 14 loss to Indianapolis. The Texas Tech product didn't crack the starting lineup as a rookie, but played often in three-safety sets to finish with 26 tackles and two interceptions. McBath will likely push Renaldo Hill to start in 2010.

Broncos signed rookie S Darcel McBath, the No. 48 overall pick, to a four-year contract including $2 million guaranteed.

McBath, a true cover safety with terrific ball skills (six INTs in 2008), will play special teams in his first season, but Denver has the oldest starting safety duo in the league. The former Texas Tech Red Raider will likely take over for one of Renaldo Hill, 31 this season, and Brian Dawkins, 36, by 2011.
