Patriots released CB Bradley Fletcher.
Fletcher played 68 snaps in the Patriots' first two games, but was benched after Week 2. He was also sidelined with a minor hamstring injury. Malcolm Butler, Tarell Brown, Logan Ryan, and Justin Coleman will remain New England's top four corners. Fletcher shouldn't resurface as more than sub-package depth. Sat, Oct 10, 2015 04:45:00 PM

Patriots declared CB Bradley Fletcher, DE Trey Flowers, C Ryan Wendell, DE Rufus Johnson, S Tavon Wilson, TE Michael Hommanawanui, and RB Travaris Cadet inactive for Week 3 against the Jaguars.

Fletcher is a healthy scratch and has been benched after getting torched across 68 snaps the first two weeks. Tarell Brown and Malcolm Butler will start.

Patriots CB Bradley Fletcher failed to distinguish himself during OTAs and minicamp.

Unfortunately for fantasy owners, it looks like Fletcher is going to end up as sub-package depth for the Patriots. Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan are expected to be the starters with Robert McClain in the slot. Seventh-round rookie Darryl Roberts has also outplayed Fletcher.

Bradley Fletcher and Logan Ryan lined up as the top corners at Patriots' OTAs.

Ryan has been a solid player through two seasons, but Fletcher was a disaster with the Eagles last year. At least one of the two should open the season as a starter, with Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler, who did not participate in practice, also in the mix. The Patriots have serious concerns in their secondary.

Patriots signed CB Bradley Fletcher, formerly of the Eagles, to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

This is what the Pats get for letting Darrelle Revis walk. Fletcher hasn't looked the same since tearing his ACL in 2011. He was dominated on a weekly basis with the Eagles last season; PFF ranked him 92nd out of 108 qualified cornerbacks and charged Fletcher with nine TDs allowed. Theoretically a press-man corner, Fletcher will compete for playing time with Logan Ryan, Alfonzo Dennard, and Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler. The Patriots also figure to draft a corner.

Free agent CB Bradley Fletcher visited the Patriots on Tuesday.

As did fellow CBs Terence Newman, Robert McClain and Tarell Brown. The Pats have to replace both Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, but none of today's visitors would have a direct path to a starting job. Fletcher was routinely humiliated as a member of the Eagles last season.

Free agent CB Bradley Fletcher is not expected to re-sign with the Eagles.

Fletcher was the poster boy for the Eagles' weekly secondary woes, getting humiliated by receivers of all shapes and sizes. Quarterbacks had a 107.6 rating when throwing at him and he graded out 101st out of 108 qualifiers in PFF's coverage grades. Yet for a reason we can't comprehend, he kept his starting job all season. At least the Eagles are coming to their senses now and will let Fletcher walk, likely replacing him with a high pick or free agent.

Eagles declared LCB Bradley Fletcher inactive for Sunday's Week 17 finale against the Giants.

Fletcher was listed on the injury report with a hip injury, but this is more of a healthy scratch ahead of a matchup with Odell Beckham. Fletcher, who is headed for free agency, has been among the worst corners in the league all year and a weekly target for savvy fantasy football owners. The bigger question is how bad replacement Nolan Carroll must be in practice if he's not replacing Fletcher until Week 17. Don't downgrade ODB at all. The rest of the Eagles inactives: QB Nick Foles, S Jerome Couplin, OL Julian Vandervelde, OL Dennis Kelly, WR Jeff Maehl and DE Taylor Hart.

Eagles LCB Bradley Fletcher (hip) has been listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Giants despite getting in a full practice Friday.

Fletcher has practiced every day this week, but it is possible the Eagles hold him out of the meaningless season finale to rest his bruised ego. Fletcher has been getting burnt regularly the past two weeks, giving up three touchdowns to Dez Bryant Week 15 and two long pass plays to DeSean Jackson last week. With Nolan Carroll next up on the Eagles' depth chart, Fletcher missing would actually be a downgrade for Odell Beckham.

The Eagles aren't planning to bench LCB Bradley Fletcher.

Fletcher got burnt to a crisp by Aaron Rodgers in Sunday's blowout loss, but DC Bill Davis isn't ready to make a change. Fletcher has been up-and-down this season, mostly playing at a replacement-level. The Eagles' only real options to replace him would be taking Brandon Boykin out of the slot in the base defense, or Nolan Carroll.

Eagles CB Bradley Fletcher (pectoral) is practicing Tuesday.

Fletcher was inactive for Sunday's win over the Packers, but is considered day to day and was cleared to return to practice. Roc Carmichael started at outside corner in Week 10, with Brandon Boykin remaining in the slot.

Eagles declared CB Bradley Fletcher (pectoral) inactive for Sunday's Week 10 game at Green Bay.

It's a significant loss for the Eagles. Not only will they not have their top outside corner in Fletcher, but they'll have to move slot corner Brandon Boykin out of his comfort zone. Expect Seneca Wallace to perform far better than he did after Aaron Rodgers got hurt last week. Jordy Nelson should be locked into fantasy lineups. The rest of the Eagles inactives: QB Michael Vick, RB Matt Tucker, LB Jake Knott, G Matt Tobin, T Dennis Kelly and WR B.J. Cunningham.

Eagles RCB Bradley Fletcher (concussion) has been medically cleared.

Fletcher will resume practicing Monday and will start opposite Cary Williams against the Chiefs on Thursday night. Slot corner Brandon Boykin did a great job moving outside against Vincent Brown in Week 2, but that left the inside vulnerable. Eddie Royal burned the Eagles for an absurd 7/90/3 line.

Eagles declared RCB Bradley Fletcher (concussion) inactive for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Chargers.

Undersized slot corner Brandon Boykin will start in place of Fletcher. It would be a concern if the Chargers still had both Malcom Floyd and Danario Alexander, but DX is out for the year with a knee injury. Boykin is capable of holding his own against Vincent Brown and Eddie Royal. No surprises on the rest of the Eagles inactives: QB Matt Barkley, DB Shaun Prater, G Matt Tobin, T Dennis Kelly (back), DL Vinny Curry and TE Emil Igwenagu.

Eagles RCB Bradley Fletcher (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 2.

The Birds will start LCB Cary Williams and usual nickel back Brandon Boykin on the corners. If Philly wasn't such a great bet to control time of possession at home versus the cross country-traveling Chargers, we'd view this as an upgrade for Philip Rivers' matchup. It just probably won't help much.
