Lewis was banged up in camp after undergoing offseason knee surgery. Lance Laury, David Hawthorne, and Will Herring made the roster instead.

Seahawks agreed to terms with LB D.D. Lewis.

Terms aren't available. Lewis was replaced in the starting lineup by Julian Peterson three years ago and has been used as a utility linebacker and special teamer ever since. He could be in line for a larger role after Saturday's Peterson trade.

Cooper played defensive end in Arizona's 3-4 last season. He'll be a reserve tackle in the Seahawks' 4-3. Lewis returns to be a utility linebacker.

According to the Rocky Mountain News, the Broncos are expected to release D.D. Lewis.

Lewis lost a battle for the strong-side linebacker job in training camp and has worked mostly on special teams. The team is expected to replace him by signing Jordan Beck, who worked out for them last week.

Lewis started on the weak side for the Seahawks during their 2005 Super Bowl run but was replaced by Julian Peterson last year and couldn't stay healthy. His impact in Denver will most likely be felt on special teams.

Lewis was an oft-used backup for the Seahawks during their 2005 Super Bowl run but injuries struck last season. He's relatively young at 28 and could add quality depth if his turf-toe injury is fully healed.

He might not start, but he should play. CB Marcus Trufant should also start. RT Sean Locklear (hip) is expected to start despite missing practice. DE Alain Kashama (hamstring) was added to the injury report as doubtful.
