Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell says NT Roy Miller's knee tendinitis is no longer an issue.
Miller was still being held back in this week's minicamp, but Caldwell says the 310-pounder would suit up if he needed to play in a game this weekend. He'll be part of the rotation on the interior of Jags' defensive line. Jun 13 - 1:29 PM

Jaguars DT Roy Miller has been limited to individual drills at OTAs due to left knee tendinitis.

Miller has been out the entire offseason with the issue, and he's been "slowly bumping up everything, from conditioning to lifting weights." The soon-to-be 26-year-old said he dealt with the pain last season while with the Bucs. He'll probably be limited for the rest of OTAs, but Miller should be fine for camp.
May 23 - 8:12 PM

Jaguars signed DT Roy Miller to a two-year contract.

It's a nifty signing for the rebuilding Jags. Going on 26, Miller comes cheap and was one of the anchors of Tampa's top-ranked run defense last season. Miller offers nothing as a pass-rusher, but will help clog up the middle for a run defense that allowed an unruly 141 yards per game in 2012.

NFL.com reports free agent DT Roy Miller will reach the open market.

Talks "broke off" last week, and apparently won't restart before next Tuesday. Miller is gambling on himself after being a part of the Bucs' historically good 2012 run defense, but may find his market surprisingly cold. He graded out poorly in Pro Football Focus' ratings, and comes off the field in passing situations.
Mar 4 - 1:22 PM

Contract talks between the Bucs and free agent DT Roy Miller have "broken off."

Per the Tampa Bay Times, the two sides are "seemingly far apart." There's likely a gap between perceived value here as the Bucs ranked No. 1 in run defense last year, but Miller graded out well below average. "Roy is excited to see what's out there for him in free agency," said agent Mike McCartney. As a two-down interior tackle that only fits in a 4-3, Miller may find a softer market than he anticipates.
Feb 28 - 11:23 AM

The Tampa Bay Times reports there have been "no substantive contract talks" between the Bucs and free agent DT Roy Miller.

Miller was a 14-game starter for the Bucs' No. 1 run defense last season, but graded out poorly in Pro Football Focus' ratings. The 2009 third-round pick came off the bench in 2011 after starting all 16 games in 2010. Miller is a no-nonsense player, but comes off the field in passing situations. Second-year coach Greg Schiano could be looking for "his guy" at nose tackle this offseason.
Feb 11 - 11:06 AM

Bucs declared DT Roy Miller (head) inactive for Sunday's Week 14 game against the Eagles.

The Bucs will be forced to roll with some combination of Gary Gibson and Corey Irvin to fill Miller's sizable shoes. It's excellent news for Bryce Brown as Miller is a key piece of the Bucs' No. 1 run defense. The rest of the Bucs' inactives: CB LeQuan Lewis, RB Michael Smith, LB Najee Goode, WR David Douglas, WR David Gilreath and DT Matthew Masifilo.

Bucs NT Roy Miller (head) returned to practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 13 against the Eagles.

Miller missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices, but his return on Friday suggests he's at least passed most of the NFL's protocol concussion testing. Beat writer Stephen Holder expects Miller to play against Philadelphia, although Bucs coach Greg Schiano stated Friday, "We're going to be cautious."

Bucs DT Roy Miller has yet to practice this week after sustaining a head injury in Week 13.

The Bucs won't confirm that Miller was concussed, but he is being evaluated according to the NFL's guidelines for head injuries. Miller is a run-stuffing specialist on a defense allowing a league-best 82.3 rushing yards per game. His absence Sunday would be welcome news for Bryce Brown's fantasy owners.

Bucs DT Roy Miller is listed as questionable for Week 6 due to a back injury.

Coach Greg Schiano described it as a "muscle spasm" that caused Miller to miss Thursday's practice, although he returned on a limited basis Friday. Miller has been a key early-down stuffer for Tampa Bay's surprisingly stout run defense. His Week 6 absence would improve Jamaal Charles' matchup.

The Tampa Bay Times suggests that the Bucs' additions of Amobi Okoye and Gary Gibson could cost DT Roy Miller his roster spot.

Long a favorite of the old Bucs staff, Miller is no longer on scholarship in Tampa Bay. Miller has not been an effective interior player either in terms of pass rush or run stoppage entering his fourth NFL season. Also due $1.37 million, Miller may struggle to make the roster without an injury ahead of him.

Bucs DT Roy Miller (partial MCL tear) admitted he'll have to play through pain the rest of the season.

Miller won't go under the knife and is targeting the final preseason game for his return. "I'm just going to have to fight through it this year," Miller said. "Everybody I've talked to that has had an MCL (tear) says it lingers." Miller played through ankle, knee and hamstring issues last year, limiting his effectiveness as a run stuffer.

The St. Petersburg Times reports that Bucs DT Roy Miller is likely to miss the rest of the preseason with a partial MCL tear.

It's not a surgery-requiring injury, but could jeopardize Miller's availability for Week 1. And especially bad news with fellow DT Brian Price coming off a major pelvis operation. Miller was expected to open the season as Tampa Bay's starting defensive tackle adjacent Gerald McCoy. Keep in mind all of the injuries on the Bucs' interior for fantasy running back matchups.

The Bucs have allowed an average of 184.5 rushing yards per game on 6.6 YPC in the two games since DT Gerald McCoy (biceps surgery, injured reserve) went down for the season.

To make matters worse, they've been victimized by the Redskins and Lions, two teams that rank in the bottom 10 in rushing offense. It's been a group effort to replace McCoy, and Roy Miller, Frank Okam, Al Woods and Michael Bennett have all had their problems. Marshawn Lynch makes for a good play against the Bucs this weekend despite his struggles.

Bucs DT Roy Miller has joined Kyle Moore in slimming down considerably after being ordered to bulk up last season.

Both put on upwards of 20 pounds to fit the new scheme of Jim Bates last year. Predictably, Moore missed time with a knee injury while Miller played through nagging ankle, knee, and hamstring issues. With Raheem Morris returning to the Tampa-2, the linemen are shedding the weight to regain quickness.
