Browns signed CB Chris Owens, formerly of the Falcons.
New Cleveland coach Rob Chudzinski knows Owens from the NFC South, but we're skeptical the 26-year-old will help the Browns. An oft-abused (and benched) slot corner in Atlanta, Owens lost his nickel back job to Robert McClain last year. Mostly a dime back, Owens managed 22 tackles and a forced fumble. Mar 22 - 1:28 PM

Falcons CB Chris Owens was removed from Saturday's game with a hamstring injury and is questionable to return.

The severity of the injury isn't yet known, but it's probably safe to rule him out for the rest of the game. Owens will be replaced by a combination of Robert McClain and Dominique Franks.

Coach Mike Smith confirmed CB Chris Owens is "in the concussion protocol" this week.

Atlanta's nickel back will have to pass a battery of tests to play this week. Smith suggested that "feisty" CB Robert McClain may have earned a bigger role regardless of Owens' status. "Every time he goes on the field, he makes something happen," said Smith.

Chris Owens is expected to step in as the Falcons' nickel corner.

Brent Grimes' season-ending injury will move Dunta Robinson out to right corner, opposite Asante Samuel. Owens, a fringe player and special teamer during his three-plus years in Atlanta, is going to get attacked in three-wide sets. His first test comes against Peyton Manning and the Broncos this week.

Falcons CB Chris Owens was forced from Sunday night's game against the Packers with a concussion.

The Falcons' nickel back concussed himself on a crushing special teams hit. He's been replaced by Kelvin Hayden. RG Garrett Reynolds is also out of the game with an ankle injury. His return is officially questionable. If his night is through, it would be bad news for a Falcons team already missing C Todd McClure. Brett Romberg is currently in at right guard.

The family violence case against Falcons CB Chris Owens has been dismissed.

Owens was accused of trashing his ex-girlfriend's apartment. She is no longer pursuing charges. "He looks forward to working with her to raise their son together," said Owens' attorney. The couple may not be getting back together, but Owens is interested in shared parenting time.

Falcons CB Chris Owens denies allegations that he ransacked his ex-girlfriend's apartment last Sunday night.

Owens claims the woman is seeking "revenge" for his not wanting to be in a relationship with her, and is trying to have the investigation thrown out. The former couple has a nine-month-old child together. The police report states that a TV in the apartment was found to have holes in it, along with drywall in the living room. Owens, a part-time nickel back, has not been charged.

Falcons CB Chris Owens is reportedly under investigation for "trashing" his ex-girlfriend's apartment Sunday night.

The two reportedly had a "heated argument" over custody of their 9-month-old child, prompting the incident. Owens smashed holes in the wall, destroyed electronics, and poured bleach on the ex-girlfriend's jewelry, clothing, and designer shoes for an estimated loss of $15,000. Police have issued a restraining order against Owens, but he has not yet been arrested.

Coach Mike Smith confirmed that Chris Owens will reclaim the nickelback job with the Falcons moving on from Brian Williams.

Owens was actually a starter in Week 1 last season before injuring his back. "Chris is going to develop," said Smith. "He has the skill-set to play both inside and outside. He's a very tough kid. He's physical." Brent Grimes is locked in as the starter opposite Dunta Robinson.
