Ohrnberger started four games, two at center and two at right guard, for the Cardinals last season before ending the year on injured reserve with a knee injury. The 27-year-old has appeared in 18 career games. At 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds, he's a good fit as a backup in the new zone-blocking scheme.

The Patriots "tweaked" OG Rich Ohrnberger's contract during the season, signing him through 2012.

Ohrnberger was handed a standard one-year deal when he was signed off the practice squad in September. Perhaps the Pats saw promise in practice after he struggled badly in the preseason. The Pats have plenty of question marks at guard heading into 2011.
