Chargers signed G/C Rich Ohrnberger, formerly of the Cardinals, to a one-year contract.
Ohrnberger started four games, two at center and two at right guard, for the Cardinals last season before ending the year on injured reserve with a knee injury. Cardinals placed OL Rich Ohrnberger (knee) on season-ending injured reserve.

Ohrnberger started the last two weeks at center in place of Lyle Sendlein, who is also on injured reserve. Ohrnberger was injured in the first half of yesterday's thumping from Seattle. Scott Wedige came in to replace him at center, but the Cardinals could be on the lookout for a more experienced lineman.

The Patriots "tweaked" OG Rich Ohrnberger's contract during the season, signing him through 2012.

Ohrnberger was handed a standard one-year deal when he was signed off the practice squad in September. Perhaps the Pats saw promise in practice after he struggled badly in the preseason. The Pats have plenty of question marks at guard heading into 2011.

Ohrnberger, a Penn State grad, will back up at both guard spots this season. With right guard Stephen Neal a free agent after next season, Ohrnberger could be groomed as his replacement.
