Colts did not tender offers to restricted free agents OG Seth Olsen or LB A.J. Edds.

Olsen battled a knee injury last season and played in just five games, starting four. Edds, a special teams player, missed the entire season with a torn ACL. Both players could be re-signed on the cheap at a later date.

Olsen started the first three games of the season, struggling in pass protection. Jeff Linkenbach and Joe Reitz haven't fared any better as his replacements. Olsen should regain his starting job down the stretch. LB Justin Hickman (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Olsen was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return on October 8. That means the earliest he can return to game action is Week 14. The journeyman started the first three games of the year and then went down in Week 5 against the Packers.

The Colts could get Olsen back late in the season if his knee heals up. They also waived TE Dominique Jones and now have two open roster spots. Olsen struggled as both a pass and run blocker in the first four games before suffering the knee injury in Week 5 against the Packers.

It's bad when you can't stick on arguably the worst offensive line in the league. Olsen was replaced by Jamey Richard, a free agent that the Colts signed four days before the game.

Colts OGs Seth Olsen and Mike Tepper are expected to make their first NFL starts in Sunday's game against the Titans.

With LG Joe Reitz (knee) and RG Mike Pollak (hamstring) sidelined, the Colts' line is in the worst shape imaginable. LT Anthony Castonzo (ankle) remains out and so is RT Ryan Diem. The only starting-caliber lineman left healthy is C Jeff Saturday. LT Jeff Linkenbach could start on a bad team, but is playing out of position. He's a nightmare of a left tackle.

Colts claimed G Seth Olsen off waivers from the Vikings and waived G/C Jamey Richard.

Olsen is a power lineman out of Iowa, and the Colts' interest him further suggests the team is transitioning to more of a running offense. It won't work. Richard was washed out in the running game in all of his four starts last season.

A fourth-round pick of the Broncos in 2009, Olsen didn't appear in a game last season after being active just three times as a rookie. His odds of getting on the field this year are low.

Broncos waived OG Seth Olsen, LB Kevin Alexander, TE Riar Geer, DB Kyle McCarthy, LB Worrell Williams, DL Jeff Stehle, and WR Britt Davis.

Olsen entered the offseason as the favorite to start at left guard, but the Broncos picked up Zane Beadles in the second-round of the draft. It's still a surprise that he didn't even make the team. Williams is the brother of inside linebacker D.J.

Coach Josh McDaniels confirmed on Saturday that Seth Olsen will get every opportunity to be the team's starting left guard.

"He sure will," McDaniels said. "He's a guy we have high hopes for, high expectations. He does too." Olsen, at 6'5/308, is a power blocker and should help Knowshon Moreno's inside running style.

Seth Olsen is expected to get first crack at the Broncos' vacant starting left guard position.

Olsen was Denver's fourth-round pick last year. With the Broncos going away from their traditional zone-blocking scheme, he's a perfect fit. Olsen is a power blocker, which should help Knowshon Moreno's downhill, inside running style.

Broncos agreed to terms with fourth-round OG Seth Olsen on a four-year contract, including a $414,120 signing bonus.

A power blocker from Iowa, the Broncos' pick of Olsen is more evidence that they're moving away from their old zone-blocking scheme. Olsen was a two-year starter at right guard for Kirk Ferentz. He'll be a backup as a rookie.
