Redskins released or waived CB Morgan Trent, WR Lance Lewis, WR Sam Kirkland, TE Beau Reliford, RB Lennon Creer, OG Nick Martinez, RB Antwon Bailey, OT James Lee and OT Chris Campbell.
Trent was actually released with a settlement after suffering a left knee injury in Washington's preseason opener against Buffalo. Most of the other players here were UDFA rookies. Lee was a poor fit for the zone-blocking scheme. Mon, Aug 27, 2012 05:11:00 PM

Redskins claimed CB Morgan Trent off waivers from the Jaguars.

At 6-foot-1, 193, Trent gives Washington another long, if leggy cornerback to go with Kevin Barnes. Better off as a special teamer, Trent is on his fourth NFL team since being drafted in the 2009 sixth round. He shouldn't make the 53.

Jaguars waived CB Morgan Trent.

The former Bengals sixth-rounder recorded 16 tackles and two interceptions in 12 games with Cincinnati, Indy, and Jacksonville last season. CB Dontrell Johnson, undrafted out of Murray State, was re-signed to take Trent's roster spot.

Jaguars signed CB Morgan Trent, formerly of the Colts.

Trent, 25, was the Bengals' sixth-round pick in 2009 and saw significant playing time for some stretches in Cincinnati. The Jaguars' season is in the books, so they're giving Trent a late-season look-see for 2012.

The Rams worked out free agent CB Morgan Trent on Tuesday.

A former sixth-round pick, Trent has tallied six tackles in seven games between the Bengals and Colts this season. The Rams decided not to sign Trent despite placing their 10th cornerback of the season on injured reserve today, but he could get a call whenever number 11 inevitably goes down.

The former Bengal was just signed last week. He doesn't appear in the box score for the 17-3 loss to the Jaguars.

Colts signed CB Morgan Trent, formerly of the Bengals.

The injury-prone yet versatile defensive back appeared in four games with six tackles in Cincinnati this season. He'll add depth and much-needed size as a reserve corner.

Bengals waived CB Morgan Trent.

Trent is the odd man out as the Bengals needed to cut someone in order to active Cedric Benson. Trent appeared in four games this season as a strict reserve, recording six tackles. He was inactive in Week 8, possibly due to an ankle injury.

Bengals CB Morgan Trent said his knee is now 100 percent.

Trent landed on IR after suffering an unknown knee injury in Week 9 of last season. He's signed cheaply through 2012 and figures to be in the Bengals' plans for secondary depth this season.

Bengals placed CB Morgan Trent (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The extent of the injury is unknown, but it was suffered in Week 9 and apparently involved a setback prior to Week 10, as Trent was downgraded to "out" on Friday. Trent, known as an underachiever at Michigan, has emerged as a quality nickel and dime back in two years with the Bengals. Assuming the injury isn't too serious, he should win a roster spot again in 2011.

Rico Murray was signed to provide depth in the secondary with Trent out and Chris Crocker unlikely to play.

Bengals DB Morgan Trent has been told to forget about playing safety for now and focus on the corner position.

The coaches might re-visit the safety idea down the line. Trent operated as Cincinnati's primary nickel back in his rookie year. His 2009 role will be far less significant with Pacman Jones aboard and David Jones healthy.

Bengals agreed to terms with sixth-round CB Morgan Trent on a four-year, $1.85 million deal.

Trent underwent surgery in early May after suffering a stress fracture in his foot at rookie minicamp. The Michigan alum is expected to be healthy in time for training camp, but Trent a project at best with no set role. It's hard to forget his torching by Dwayne Jarrett in the 2006 Rose Bowl.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis revealed that rookie CB Morgan Trent recently needed foot surgery.

Trent had a screw inserted in his foot. The Bengals claim he'll be ready by training camp, but Trent is still a project coming out of Michigan and this may hurt his chances of making the team. It's not great timing.
