Bengals RB Cedric Peerman (foot) is expected to miss 1-2 weeks.
Peerman had a rough offseason. Per Bengals.com, he first hurt his foot chasing down a man "who swiped his fiancee's cell phone off the table they were sitting at outside a New Orleans restaurant." Later, he got his foot caught awkwardly in a wave at Virginia Beach and hurt his ankle. Peerman is on the NFI list. Thu, Jul 25, 2013 01:15:00 PM

Bengals re-signed RB Cedric Peerman to a two-year contract.

Peerman, 26, added juice to Cincy's 2012 backfield with 258 yards and a score on 36 carries (7.2 YPC). He deserved more work considering BenJarvus Green-Ellis' utter lack of big-play ability. Peerman has burst and some versatility, but the Bengals don't seem to value him as more than a third-stringer and special teamer. They're expected to draft a change-of-pace back upgrade in April.

Cedric Peerman did not touch the ball in the Bengals' Wild Card Round loss to the Texans.

We don't know why Peerman wasn't involved; he averaged over seven yards a carry in the regular season and provided an explosive change-of-pace complement to BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Peerman can also hold his own in the passing game. We are mildly intrigued to see where he lands in 2013 free agency.

Cedric Peerman (ankle) is questionable for Week 16 after getting in a week of limited practices.

Peerman should be ready to return from his two-game absence, but with BenJarvus Green-Ellis playing the finest football of his career, he's doubtful to receive more than 4-5 touches.

Cedric Peerman (ankle) returned to Bengals practice Wednesday, getting in a limited session.

It's a sign Peerman should be good to go against the Steelers after missing the Bengals' past two games. However, with BenJarvus Green-Ellis continuing to run unexpectedly well, Peerman won't be in for more than a handful of touches.

Bengals declared RB Cedric Peerman, K Mike Nugent, CB Dre Kirkpatrick, S George Iloka, DTs Devon Still and Brandon Thompson, and TE Richard Quinn inactive for Thursday night's game versus the Eagles.

Peerman has an ankle injury, so BenJarvus Green-Ellis will carry a full load in the backfield with Brian Leonard mixing in on third downs. Nugent is out with a calf injury to his kicking leg, and Josh Brown will kick for the second straight week. As reported earlier, RE Michael Johnson (toe) is active.

Cedric Peerman (ankle) is officially listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against the Eagles.

Peerman will miss his second straight game. Brian Leonard filled the change-of-pace role last week, rushing six times for 20 yards.

Cedric Peerman (ankle) did not practice on Monday.

The Bengals likely just had a walk-through on Monday after playing yesterday, but on a short week, it seems unlikely that Peerman will be back for this Thursday's tilt with the Eagles. BenJarvus Green-Ellis will carry a full load with Brian Leonard spelling him on third downs.

Bengals declared RB Cedric Peerman, CB Dre Kirkpatrick, K Mike Nugent, DT Brandon Thompson, TE Richard Quinn, S George Iloka, and DT Devon Still inactive for Week 14 against the Cowboys.

Josh Brown will be the Bengals' kicker. BenJarvus Green-Ellis will handle a full workload with Peerman out of the picture. Jermaine Gresham is active.

Bengals RB Cedric Peerman (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 14.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis will handle a full workload Sunday against the Cowboys. Brian Leonard may see a slight uptick in touches as change-of-pace back.

Bengals RB Cedric Peerman (ankle) was still in a boot Wednesday.

He didn't practice. Peerman sprained his ankle during the second quarter of Sunday's win. It has the look of at least a Grade 2 injury. Brian Leonard will be forced into more snaps as BenJarvus Green-Ellis' change-of-pace option this week.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis declined to put a timetable on Cedric Peerman's (ankle) return at his Monday presser.

Lewis only called the injury an "ankle sprain," although Peerman exited the stadium following Sunday's win with a walking boot on his foot and using crutches. The signs point toward a potential high ankle sprain. Peerman had been giving the Bengals a big lift as a change-of-pace back. Brian Leonard figures to see a small uptick in snaps moving forward, behind BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

Cedric Peerman exited Sunday's Week 13 game with a second-quarter ankle injury.

He was announced as questionable to return. Peerman has added a spark to the Cincy backfield this season as a change-of-pace back, averaging over seven yards per carry. He had four yards on two runs Sunday before leaving injured.

OC Jay Gruden admitted that Cedric Peerman's play has taken the team by surprise.

Peerman was considered a strict special teamer until Bernard Scott went down. Since then, he's jumped into the change-of-pace role feet first and excelled. Over the last three games, he's averaged 7.3 carries for 52.3 yards. "Now that we have (Peerman) as the number two, he's been able to take advantage of his reps," Gruden said. "We had a feeling he would be pretty good but you don't know until you give him those reps."

Cedric Peerman rushed eight times for 61 yards in the Bengals' Week 12 win over the Raiders.

An increasingly oft-used change-of-pace back in Cincinnati's offense, Peerman offers better burst than BenJarvus Green-Ellis and figures to remain involved on a six- to ten-touch per game basis. He's worth rostering in deeper leagues, but Peerman will not be a standalone fantasy option barring a Law Firm injury.
