Titans CB Brice McCain is expected to retain nickel duties this season.
McCain played the most snaps among Titans corners last season and was the only one to earn a positive coverage grade from Pro Football Focus. With newcomers Logan Ryan and first-rounder Adoree' Jackson expected to handle outside duties, McCain will remain in the slot. Long-term, Jackson may kick inside, but the Titans may not want to overwhelm him with double-duty. Mon, May 8, 2017 12:16:00 PM

Titans CB Brice McCain has been getting first-team reps in minicamp.

He's been rotating with Perrish Cox opposite Jason McCourty. McCain was utterly abysmal for the Dolphins last season, but the Titans have apparently liked what they've seen. Even were McCain to earn "starting duties," he'd kick inside to the slot in nickel situations. It's ultimately hard to see McCain passing Cox on the depth chart.

Titans signed CB Brice McCain, formerly of the Dolphins, to a two-year, $4.4 million contract.

He can earn an additional $600,000 if he hits all his incentives. McCain, 29, was released by the Dolphins just over two weeks ago, allowing him to get a jump on the rest of the free-agent class and find a home before the new league year opens March 9. At 5'9/190, McCain will compete for slot-corner duties in Tennessee after flaming out across 11 starts for Miami.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent CB Brice McCain will visit the Titans Tuesday.

Cut by the Dolphins in February, McCain has already visited the Bucs and has reportedly received interest from the Steelers. It appears likely he finds a new home before free agency begins.

The Steelers have expressed interest in free agent CB Brice McCain.

McCain appeared in 14 games, starting nine, for the Steelers in 2014 before signing with the Dolphins last offseason only to be released after one season. He's free to sign elsewhere immediately. At 5'9/190, McCain is a bit small for the outside and would likely serve as the dime back if he returned to Pittsburgh.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent CB Brice McCain will visit with the Bucs this week.

The Steelers and Titans are also reportedly interested in meeting with McCain. Cut by the Dolphins last week, it does not appear McCain will have to wait long to find a new home. The Bucs will have more work to do in the secondary even if they land McCain.

Dolphins released CB Brice McCain.

McCain made 11 starts in the slot, but was frequently picked on by passing games. His release saves $2.5 million. Bobby McCain is an in-house candidate for nickel duties, though Miami plans to add multiple corners this offseason.

Dolphins CB Brice McCain suffered a sprained knee in the Week 10 win over the Eagles.

McCain covers the slot for the Dolphins. The teams thinks "he'll be okay," but we'll consider him week-to-week for now. Rookie Bobby McCain is next man up behind starters Brent Grimes and Jamar Taylor outside.

Dolphins CB Brice McCain (knee) is inactive for Week 8 against the Patriots.

McCain had been expected to return after missing Week 7. His absence thrusts Jamar Taylor into the starting lineup. Taylor figures to be targeted early and often by Tom Brady. Also inactive for the Dolphins are LB Chris McCain, C Sam Brenner, TE Jake Stoneburner, OL Jeff Linkenbach, WR Matt Hazel and DT A.J. Francis.

Dolphins CB Brice McCain (knee) is expected to return Thursday night against the Patriots.

McCain suffered a knee injury Week 6 against the Titans and sat out the Dolphins blowout win over Houston. McCain started every game before going down, and he is expected to return to the starting lineup against New England.

McCain has primarily been matching up with Kendall Wright, who has three first-half catches.

The Miami Herald reports Brice McCain has beat out Jamar Taylor for the starting cornerback job opposite Brent Grimes.

Taylor was thought to have a leg up, but must have missed too much time with his quad injury. Taylor is practicing ahead of Week 1. Despite the "starting" tag, McCain should kick inside when the Dolphins go with three corners, leaving Taylor on the outside. McCain is more effective in the slot. Taylor could easily end up overtaking him for No. 2 duties.

Dolphins signed CB Brice McCain to a two-year, $5.5 million contract.

The deal includes $3 million in guarantees. McCain is the Dolphins' Cortland Finnegan replacement. McCain is capable of playing both inside and out, but is more effective in the slot. He was one of the worst players in the league in 2013 before rebounding last season. 28 years old, McCain is a workmanlike addition to a thoroughly-average Dolphins secondary.

Free agent CB Brice McCain is visiting the Dolphins on Wednesday.

McCain was one of the worst corners in the league in 2013, but was better for the Steelers last season. He's best suited to the slot. The Miami Herald reports the Vikings are also interested, and that Pittsburgh is open to a new deal.

Steelers signed CB Brice McCain, formerly of the Texans.

The 27-year-old was cut by the Texans last month after having a horrid season that saw him grade out as Pro Football Focus' worst corner out of 110 qualifiers. McCain will try and earn a reserve and special teams role with Pittsburgh.
