Dolphins CB Brice McCain suffered a sprained knee in the Week 10 win over the Eagles.
McCain covers the slot for the Dolphins. The teams thinks "he'll be okay," but we'll consider him week-to-week for now. Rookie Bobby McCain is next man up behind starters Brent Grimes and Jamar Taylor outside. Mon, Nov 16, 2015 08:39:00 PM

Dolphins CB Brice McCain (knee) is inactive for Week 8 against the Patriots.

McCain had been expected to return after missing Week 7. His absence thrusts Jamar Taylor into the starting lineup. Taylor figures to be targeted early and often by Tom Brady. Also inactive for the Dolphins are LB Chris McCain, C Sam Brenner, TE Jake Stoneburner, OL Jeff Linkenbach, WR Matt Hazel and DT A.J. Francis.

Dolphins CB Brice McCain (knee) is expected to return Thursday night against the Patriots.

McCain suffered a knee injury Week 6 against the Titans and sat out the Dolphins blowout win over Houston. McCain started every game before going down, and he is expected to return to the starting lineup against New England.

Dolphins CB Brice McCain left Sunday's Week 6 game against the Titans with a knee injury and will not return.

McCain has primarily been matching up with Kendall Wright, who has three first-half catches.

The Miami Herald reports Brice McCain has beat out Jamar Taylor for the starting cornerback job opposite Brent Grimes.

Taylor was thought to have a leg up, but must have missed too much time with his quad injury. Taylor is practicing ahead of Week 1. Despite the "starting" tag, McCain should kick inside when the Dolphins go with three corners, leaving Taylor on the outside. McCain is more effective in the slot. Taylor could easily end up overtaking him for No. 2 duties.

Dolphins signed CB Brice McCain to a two-year, $5.5 million contract.

The deal includes $3 million in guarantees. McCain is the Dolphins' Cortland Finnegan replacement. McCain is capable of playing both inside and out, but is more effective in the slot. He was one of the worst players in the league in 2013 before rebounding last season. 28 years old, McCain is a workmanlike addition to a thoroughly-average Dolphins secondary.

Free agent CB Brice McCain is visiting the Dolphins on Wednesday.

McCain was one of the worst corners in the league in 2013, but was better for the Steelers last season. He's best suited to the slot. The Miami Herald reports the Vikings are also interested, and that Pittsburgh is open to a new deal.

Steelers signed CB Brice McCain, formerly of the Texans.

The 27-year-old was cut by the Texans last month after having a horrid season that saw him grade out as Pro Football Focus' worst corner out of 110 qualifiers. McCain will try and earn a reserve and special teams role with Pittsburgh.

Free agent CB Brice McCain is visiting the Steelers.

McCain, 27, was released by the Texans at the start of the new league year. Due to his size (5-foot-9, 187), McCain is purely a nickel corner and special teams player. He was Pro Football Focus' worst-ranked corner last season.

Texans released CB Brice McCain.

McCain signed a three-year, $5.25 million deal with Houston last March but got torched in coverage, grading out as Pro Football Focus' worst cover corner out of 110 qualifiers. He's still just 27. At 5-foot-9, 187, McCain is purely a nickel corner. The move saves the Texans $850,000 versus the cap.

Texans re-signed CB Brice McCain to a three-year contract.

McCain was seeking $3.5-$5 million per season, but almost certainly settled for less in the frigid cornerback market. The Texans' slot corner each of the past three seasons, McCain notched 24 tackles and a pick in 2012. He played just 461 snaps, however, and graded out near the bottom of Pro Football Focus' CB ratings. That was likely due in part to the fact that he spent some time on the outside as Johnathan Joseph fought through injury.

Free agent CB Brice McCain's rep believes he's worth $3.5-$5 million per season.

"I would say Brice probably fits in there," McCain's rep said. The slot corner could find himself on the open market for a while if he sticks to those guns. $3-$4 million makes more sense for a nickel corner who played fewer than 500 snaps each of the past two seasons.

Yahoo reports "3-4 teams" are interested in free agent CB Brice McCain.

Reporter Jason Cole doesn't name names, but the Eagles were linked to McCain at the Combine. McCain was the Texans' nickel back in 2012, and will presumably be pursued as such on the open market.

According to CSN Philly, there were "rumblings" at the Combine the Eagles have interest in free agent CB Brice McCain.

The Texans' slot corner, McCain could be an option for the same role in Philly if the Eagles are forced to move Brandon Boykin to the outside. McCain graded out poorly in Pro Football Focus' 2012 ratings, but was better in 2011. He's made four career picks in 56 games.

Texans placed CB Brice McCain (broken foot) on injured reserve/designated for return.

The Texans' slot corner underwent surgery on Monday. In theory, McCain could return if the Texans make a deep playoff run, but he's almost certainly played his final snap of football this season. With Johnathan Joseph (hamstring) still banged up, McCain's injury leaves Houston perilously thin at corner. Brandon Harris will be forced to start in Week 14 if Joseph isn't ready. A former sixth-round pick, McCain is in the final year of his rookie contract.
