Paul Fanaika will enter training camp as the Cardinals' starting right guard.
Fanaika started all 16 games last year, but struggled badly in the run game and finished as one of the worst guards in the league. He should face serious competition from 2013 fourth-rounder Earl Watford in camp. Regardless, Arizona's offensive line projects to be more effective overall this season thanks to the addition of LT Jared Veldheer and return of LG Jonathan Cooper. Jul 3 - 9:27 AM

Cardinals signed OG Paul Fanaika to a one-year contract extension through 2014.

It's somewhat odd timing, as the 2009 seventh-round pick is coming off his first career start, but coach Bruce Arians must have loved what he saw. Fanaika's power blocking fits Arians' scheme. Fanaika graded out negatively in Pro Football Focus' ratings Sunday.

The Cardinals have settled on Paul Fanaika as their starting right guard.

Fanaika, 27, was a 2009 seventh-round pick of the Eagles. He's appeared in three career games, never making a start. From left to right, Arizona's Week 1 line will read LT Levi Brown, LG Daryn Colledge, C Lyle Sendlein, RG Fanaika, and RT Eric Winston. They're going to have a helluva time in the NFC West.

Coach Bruce Arians thinks Paul Fanaika could challenge Daryn Colledge for the Cardinals' starting right guard job.

A leg injury has sidelined Colledge for over a week, and Fanaika has been getting first-team reps. Arians has always preferred power linemen, and Fanaika fits the bill at 6-foot-5, 327. Colledge (6'4/308) is a better fit for a zone scheme.

Cardinals agreed to terms with OL Paul Fanaika, formerly of the Seahawks.

A 2009 seventh-round pick, Fanaika has appeared in just three games in four seasons, and none since 2011. He'll fight for a reserve role in Arizona.

Seahawks declared G Paul Fanaika, QB Josh Portis, T Jarriel King, SS Jeron Johnson, CB Kennard Cox, LB Malcolm Smith, and DT Clinton McDonald inactive for Week 16 against the 49ers.

Mike Gibson will backup at both guard positions. Adrian Moten provides depth at outside linebacker. Johnson and Cox are listed as third-stringers.

Seahawks re-signed OG Paul Fanaika.

Fanaika knows OL coach Tom Cable's zone-blocking scheme because he was on the practice squad before being released last week. He'll add depth with RG John Moffit out for the season.

Seahawks signed OG Paul Fanaika off the Browns' practice squad.

Teams seem to be high on Fanaika's potential, but he remains a project. He'll have to stay on Seattle's roster for the final three weeks.

Browns waived OG Paul Fanaika.

The 6'5", 330-pound project out of Arizona State has bounced around since being a seventh-round pick in 2009. Fanaika may end up on a practice squad.

Browns claimed OG Paul Fanaika off waivers from the Redskins.

The 'Skins signed the seventh-rounder off the Eagles' practice squad last November. He's likely ticketed for another year on the practice squad before he's ready to push for a backup job.

Redskins signed OL Paul Fanaika off the Eagles' practice squad, according to agent Marc Lillibridge.

A mauling 6'6/336-pounder out of Arizona State, Fanaika was the Birds' seventh-round pick in April. He only made honorable mention All-Pac Ten as a senior Sun Devil, however, and is unlikely to help the Skins this year.

Eagles signed seventh-round OG Paul Fanaika to a four-year contract.

A 35-game college starter, Fanaika never garnered higher than honorable mention Pac-Ten honors at Arizona State. He has the arm length and size (6'6/336) to play right tackle, but likely needs a year on the practice squad.
