Newly-signed LB Brad Jones could play on the outside for the Eagles.
Jones came into the league as an outside linebacker and recorded 4 sacks and 10 hurries in limited snaps as a rookie. The Eagles have a glut of inside linebackers after selecting Jordan Hicks in the third round, and Jones struggled on the inside with the Packers the last two seasons. His main role will be on special teams, but Jones could compete for a situational role on the outside. May 2 - 9:31 AM

Eagles signed ILB Brad Jones, formerly of the Packers, to a two-year contract.

Cut by the Pack 10 days ago, Jones had also visited the Titans. Coming off a thoroughly underwhelming 2013-14, Jones will fill-in/compete opposite Mychal Kendricks as DeMeco Ryans recovers from a torn Achilles' tendon. An athletic underachiever, Jones was primarily a special teamer last season.

Free agent ILB Brad Jones is visiting the Eagles Monday.

Jones was released by the Packers last month after badly underperforming in both 2013 and 2014. The 28-year-old would be competition for the hole opposite Mychal Kendricks, where DeMeco Ryans is rehabbing a blown Achilles' tendon. The Titans could also be interested in Jones.

Packers released ILB Brad Jones.

Drafted as a pass rusher out of Colorado in 2009, Jones appeared to be an ascending player in 2012 after seizing a starting inside linebacker job. His play tumbled off a cliff immediately after GM Ted Thompson signed Jones to a $12 million extension in March of 2013. Although he is still only 28, Jones has such bad tape that he may struggle to generate much free agent interest.

Brad Jones is practicing as the lone inside linebacker in dime packages at Packers training camp.

Jones is a true every-down linebacker, involved in Green Bay's base 3-4, as well as the nickel and dime. Although he is coming off a poor season performance wise, 28-year-old Jones is set up to nicely to post IDP statistics in 2014.

ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky doesn't believe ILB Brad Jones' starting job is in jeopardy.

LBs coach Winston Moss also insisted that Jones remains the starter next to A.J. Hawk. Jones signed a three-year, $11.75 million deal last offseason, but had an all-around poor season. He proved to be a solid run stopper who also held his own in coverage during his breakout 2012 campaign. Jones recently turned 28.

Packers ILB Brad Jones is in danger of losing his starting job.

Jones started only 12 games last season due to injury, recording 84 tackles and three sacks. He graded out negatively both against the run and in coverage, and could face competition from Jamari Lattimore and Sam Barrington. Fourth-round pick Carl Bradford will also likely get a look at inside linebacker.

ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky thinks the team may look to upgrade on ILB Brad Jones.

GM Ted Thompson handed Jones a three-year, $11.75 million deal last March. Jones started all 12 games he appeared in, notching 84 tackles and three sacks. However, he received poor marks from Pro Football Focus both against the run and in coverage. The Packers could save $1.925 million against the cap by releasing Jones, though there's been no talk of that to this point.

Packers ILB Brad Jones (hamstring) is nearing a return.

Jones has been out since sustaining a serious hamstring pull in Week 5. That's allowed unknown Jamari Lattimore to shine as a starter and possibly force a rotation going forward. The only role Jones is guaranteed is in dime packages.

Packers ILB Brad Jones (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 6.

It's another tough blow for the Packers defense, who will be without Clay Matthews (thumb) for multiple weeks. Jamari Lattimore will replace Jones in the starting lineup.

Packers ILB Brad Jones was forced from Sunday's game against the Lions with a hamstring injury, and will not return.

It's bad news for a Packers defense that's been holding Reggie Bush in check. Getting ruled out so quickly suggests Jones will be dicey for Week 6. Robert Francois is now in opposite A.J. Hawk.

Brad Jones is locked into the starting weak-inside linebacker spot in Green Bay's defense following Desmond Bishop's release.

Earning a three-year, $11.75 million offseason contract, Jones tallied 88 tackles over Green Bay's final 11 games last year, adding two sacks and a forced fumble. The Packers' WILB position is highly productive in nature and gives Jones strong IDP potential. He will be an every-down player this season.

Packers re-signed ILB Brad Jones.

Jones was one of the better linebackers left on the market. A 12-game starter last season, including the playoffs, Jones recorded 92 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus graded the soon-to-be 27-year-old as a top-ten inside linebacker. Jones and D.J. Smith figure to push A.J. Hawk for the starting spot next to Desmond Bishop this summer.

Free agent LB Brad Jones met with Packers officials for roughly an hour on Wednesday.

It's the first time the sides are known to have met since the start of free agency. Jones proved invaluable down the stretch last season, starting Green Bay's final 12 games. Per the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, he played all but seven defensive snaps after joining the starting lineup. Jones visited the Titans last week.

Free agent LB Brad Jones is visiting the Titans.

Per the Nashville Tennessean, "several" teams are interested in the four-year veteran. Jones' agent claimed Monday as many as eight teams had inquired. Jones had a strong finish to 2012, but failed to lock down a starting job in Green Bay despite multiple opportunities. Jones could still end up back with the Pack.
