He'll revert to injured reserve when he clears waivers. A seventh-round pick of the Redskins in 2009, Williams has appeared in just six career games, three of which came with the Browns last season.

Browns promoted FB Eddie Williams from their practice squad.

He'll slot in behind rookie Owen Marecic. Williams is a sort of H-back type with some lead blocking experience. He won't be getting the football much.

Seahawks waived FB Eddie Williams.

With Matt McCoy injuring a knee Sunday, the Seahawks needed Williams' roster spot to re-sign special teamer David Vobora. Williams had been filling in for Michael Robinson (ankle) at fullback.

Seahawks signed FB Eddie Williams.

A seventh-round pick of the Redskins in 2009, Williams was signed off the Browns' practice squad. He has never appeared in an NFL game. He'll fill in for Michael Robinson at fullback, who could be out for as long as two months after suffering a high-ankle sprain on Sunday.

Bears signed FB Eddie Williams, OT Levi Horn, OG Johan Asiata, DB K.J. Gerard, and LB Chris Johnson to reserve/future contracts.

Williams is an H-back type with soft hands, and may be in a direct battle with Harvey Unga to make the 2011 roster. Horn drew interest from other teams late in the season, so the Bears had to increase his practice squad pay and promise him a futures deal. OL coach Mike Tice likes his potential at 6-foot-7.

Williams has an H-back skill set, but the Bears are loaded with tight ends.

Bears signed FB Eddie Williams to a one-year contract.

A seventh-round pick by Washington last year, Williams is a versatile fullback prospect with H-back type skills. He'll be in the mix for a roster spot.

Redskins released FB Eddie Williams.

Williams, a special teamer and backup to Mike Sellers, broke his fibula in late November. He'll try to latch on elsewhere this summer.

Redskins FB Eddie Williams (broken fibula) will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

Williams was a special teamer and backup to Mike Sellers. It's not a big loss, but the Redskins' mile-long injury list is getting comical. Williams will try to get healthy enough to compete for a spot in 2010 training camp.

Redskins signed FB Eddie Williams to their active roster.

Williams will take Chris Samuels' spot on the roster and help out on special teams. He could also serve as a blocking tight end with Chris Cooley out. The seventh-round pick isn't a ball carrier.

Redskins rookie FB Eddie Williams is a project at this point.

Considering Mike Sellers is still going strong, it's unlikely Williams will get on the field anytime soon. He's coming off a knee ligament injury and hasn't practiced with the Redskins yet.

Redskins signed seventh-round pick Eddie Williams to a multi-year contract.

Williams (6'1/239) caught 54 passes for 687 yards and six TDs as a senior tight end at Idaho. He has the look of an H-back and will try to make the Skins at fullback behind Mike Sellers. Williams isn't much of a tailback option.
