Ex-Bucs and Patriots WR Tiquan Underwood has signed with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The seventh-year journeyman might finally be out of chances in the NFL. Underwood caught 52 passes across 26 games for the Bucs in 2012-13, but couldn't crack a regular-season roster last season. The famously-coifed wideout is still only 28, but he'd have to really light things up in Canada to get back on the big-league radar. Thu, Apr 2, 2015 10:48:00 PM

Panthers released WR Tiquan Underwood and waived WR Toney Clemons.

Underwood was originally expected to fill the occasional deep threat role for the Panthers, as they remade their receiver corps. He quickly fell behind Tavarres King and Kealoha Pilares. Not making it to final cuts isn't a good sign for Underwood. He caught his lone preseason target for a five-yard gain.

Panthers WR Tiquan Underwood did not see a target against the Patriots Friday night.

Underwood has fallen behind rookie Kelvin Benjamin, Jerricho Cotchery and Jason Avant on the depth chart, and may have already been passed by Tavarres King and Brenton Bersin as well. The Panthers have reportedly "not yet given up" on Underwood, but that may be changing. He is squarely on the roster bubble.

The Panthers "have not yet given up" on WR Tiquan Underwood.

Underwood has "struggled to catch the ball consistently" throughout camp and is on the roster bubble. He's behind Brenton Bersin and Tavarres King for the No. 5 receiver job. Ron Rivera said Underwood has "a skill set we’d like to have."

The Charlotte Observer doesn't project WR Tiquan Underwood to make the Panthers' 53-man roster.

Underwood reportedly dropped passes throughout OTAs, and his struggles have carried over into training camp. He's behind third-year UDFA Brenton Bersin, and is no higher than the No. 6 receiver. A situational deep threat, Underwood will need a strong preseason to avoid getting cut.

Panthers WR Tiquan Underwood "dropped passes throughout OTAs."

Underwood looked like he had a chance to start when the Panthers signed him to a two-year deal in March, but he's fallen down the totem pole. Carolina's top-three receivers are now Kelvin Benjamin, Jerricho Cotchery, and Jason Avant. 27-year-old Underwood could still be a useful situational deep threat.

ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton believes Tiquan Underwood is currently one of the top-three wide receivers in Carolina.

That is largely an indictment of Carolina's receiver corps. Underwood is more suited to be a depth piece and situational deep threat, but he will be asked to do more for a Panthers team in desperate need of wideout help. Underwood has a shot to surpass his career-high 440 receiving yards this season.

Panthers signed WR Tiquan Underwood, formerly of the Bucs, to a two-year contract.

Underwood and Jerricho Cotchery now sit atop the Carolina depth chart at receiver. Underwood, 27, had a career-year last season, catching 24 passes for 440 yards and four touchdowns. He started seven games opposite Vincent Jackson while Mike Williams was sidelined. Underwood owns a career 16.0 YPR mark and will provide a sneaky deep threat for Cam Newton.

Free agent Tiquan Underwood is visiting the Panthers on Thursday.

The well-traveled veteran would be little more than a flier for the receiver-needy Panthers, though he caught 24 passes for a career-high 440 yards with the Bucs last season. Underwood would have a strong chance at cracking the 53-man roster in Carolina.

Tiquan Underwood caught five passes for 93 yards and one touchdown in Week 17 at New Orleans.

Underwood saw seven targets and snuck behind the defense for a 48-yard score in the first quarter. He appeared in 13 games after re-signing with the Bucs after the first month of the season and started eight games after Mike Williams was lost for the year to a hamstring injury. Underwood set new career-highs across the board with a 29-533-5 line. He'll be a free agent in March but has proved he can be serviceable depth.

Tiquan Underwood caught one pass for seven yards in Tampa's Week 16 loss to the Rams.

Underwood now has just three grabs for 22 yards over his past three games. No. 2 receiver is not a fantasy-relevant position in the Bucs' offense.
Sun, Dec 22, 2013 06:38:00 PM

Tiquan Underwood caught two passes for 15 yards in the Bucs' Week 15 loss to the 49ers.

Other than the Detroit game where he scored two touchdowns, Underwood has been a total dud in Tampa Bay's No. 2 receiver role with Mike Williams (hamstring) on I.R. Underwood has very little re-draft or Dynasty league value.

Bucs WR Tiquan Underwood was held catch-less in Tampa's Week 14 win over Buffalo.

Despite his fluky big game in Week 12 against the Lions, Bucs No. 2 wide receiver Underwood is not a factor during the fantasy playoffs.
Sun, Dec 8, 2013 04:51:00 PM

Tiquan Underwood caught three passes for 51 yards in Tampa's Week 13 loss to the Panthers.

Underwood was limited to four targets on an afternoon where an ineffective Mike Glennon was called on for only 21 pass attempts. Running as the Bucs' clear No. 2 receiver, Underwood has cleared 50 yards in three of his past four games, but caught just 10 passes in the process. He can't be trusted for the fantasy playoffs.
Sun, Dec 1, 2013 05:56:00 PM

Tiquan Underwood torched the Lions for three catches, 108 yards, and two touchdowns in the Bucs' Week 12 win.

Underwood had managed stat lines of 2-29-1, 3-64, and 1-20 in his previous three starts in place of Mike Williams, so this explosion essentially came out of nowhere. He can't be trusted in 12-team leagues at Carolina in Week 12.
