Titans re-signed K Ryan Succop to a five-year, $20 million contract.
Succop had been set for unrestricted free agency. The deal includes $7.5 million guaranteed and is one of the richest ever for a kicker. The Titans' kicker since 2014, Succop converted 83.3 percent of his field goal attempts last season. That was actually his worst number as a Titan but still above the "acceptable" threshold of 80. With a career long of 54, Succop doesn't have a particularly big leg. Feb 20 - 5:33 PM

Titans re-signed K Ryan Succop to a three-year contract.

Succop drilled 19-of-22 field goals last season, setting a career-high with his 86.4 percent success rate. He'll remain a bottom-barrel fantasy option in this offense.

Titans signed K Ryan Succop, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year contract.

Succop was released by the Chiefs on Saturday in a cost-cutting measure, though he was just 22-of-28 (78.6 percent) on field-goal attempts last season. 80 percent is considered the "acceptable" threshold. For his career, Succop is an 81-percent kicker. He'll be a lower-tier fantasy option for the Titans' unpredictable offense.

The Titans are expected to sign free agent K Ryan Succop "as early as Monday."

Succop would replace Travis Coons, who temporarily won a training camp battle over Maikon Bonani. The Titans are scraping the bottom of the kicker pile after Succop finished 2013 22-of-28 on field goal tries with Kansas City.

Chiefs released K Ryan Succop.

Succop was only 22-of-28 on field goals last year, and had three years and $7.7M remaining on his contract. Cairo Santos, who has won the job for now, is signed for three years and $1.532M total.

Chiefs K Ryan Succop is facing "intense" competition from undrafted rookie Cairo Santos.

Succop was perfectly fine in 2013, but at 22-of-28 on field-goal attempts, came in below the desired 80 percent mark. He's due $1.95 million this season. Cutting Succop would be a cost-saving, but risky, move.

The Chiefs will not bring in competition for K Ryan Succop this season.

Succop only missed six field goals on 34 attempts last season, but three of those misses were from 39 yards out or closer. Still, the Chiefs are issuing a vote of confidence by giving him every rep at OTAs -- and plan to do the same thing at training camp. Regardless, fantasy owners should be looking for kickers in more explosive offenses.

Chiefs signed K Ryan Succop to a five-year, $14 million extension through 2016.

A seventh-round pick out of South Carolina in 2009, Succop has converted 69-of-84 field goals (82.1 percent) so far in his career. This season, he's banged home 10-of-14 tries from 40-plus yards with three field goals of 50-plus. Succop, 25, has struggled for fantasy relevance because of the offense in which he plays. He's been a much better real-life placekicker.

Coach Todd Haley gave struggling K Ryan Succop of vote of confidence following Sunday's loss to the Chargers.

Succop shanked a 38-yarder yesterday and is now 2-of-5 on the season. Despite Haley's public confidence, it might be time for the Chiefs to bring in some free agents.

K Ryan Succop drilled three field goals and an extra point to propel the Chiefs to a Week 2 victory in Cleveland.

The strong-legged kicker provided all the offense with three field goals from inside the red zone when the Chiefs couldn't score an offensive touchdown. Given the inconsistency of the Kansas City offense, there are more reliable bye-week kicking options.

Rookie K Ryan Succop appears to have won the Chiefs' kicking job.

The final pick of the 2009 draft has some serious power in his leg. He's made all three of his field-goal attempts in the last two preseason games and has been strong on kickoffs. He's not a kicker we'd draft, but could be someone to keep an eye on during the season.

Chiefs rookie kicker Ryan Succop reportedly showed 60-yard range during Organized Team Activities.

Succop's leg power is real, but he still seems like a long shot to make it after posting miserable field goal percentages of 71% for his college career and 66% as a senior. The Chiefs have attributed the low marks to injuries.

Chiefs agreed to terms with seventh-round K Ryan Succop on a three-year contract.

Succop, this year's Mr. Irrelevant, was not regarded as a top kicking prospect going into the draft. Incumbent Connor Barth has a weak leg, so Succop has a chance to win the job as long as the Chiefs don't look outside the organization. They've shown no signs of doing so yet.

Chiefs selected South Carolina K Ryan Succop with the No. 256 overall pick in the draft.

Mr. Irrelevant '09 missed 10 of his 30 field goal tries as a senior and wasn't anywhere close to the draft radar. He did make all his extra points. On the plus side, Succop couldn't possibly turn out worse than Justin Medlock.
