Free agent CB Ken Lucas visited the Titans earlier this week.
With youngsters Ryan Mouton and Jason McCourty opposite Cortland Finnegan, the Titans are looking for a veteran alternative. Lucas would be a better option than Tye Hill. They're also scheduled to host veteran safeties Gibril Wilson and Aaron Rouse. Thu, Mar 25, 2010 04:23:00 PM

Seahawks RCB Ken Lucas left the Week 9 win over the Lions with an elbow injury, but is expected to be fine.

Lucas got hurt in the first quarter and was replaced by Josh Wilson, who made the game-clinching pick-six. Coach Jim Mora wasn't concerned about Lucas after the game, saying he might not even be limited this week.

Seahawks RCB Ken Lucas is expected to be "fine" after suffering a shoulder stinger in the team's Week 8 loss.

Tests didn't reveal any serious damage to the joint. Lucas has started every game this season, and has 29 tackles, one interception, and two breakups.

Seahawks RCB Ken Lucas left Sunday's game with a shoulder stinger.

Lucas went down in the third quarter and did not return. He was seen walking slowly to the sideline, and coach Jim Mora gave no update after the game.

Coach Jim Mora confirmed Thursday that Ken Lucas will open the offseason as Seattle's starting right cornerback.

Former first-day picks Josh Wilson and Kelly Jennings are falling down the depth chart. Lucas will be worth IDP consideration because he'll be thrown at often. He's also a pretty good tackler. Just don't expect many picks.

Seahawks signed CB Ken Lucas, formerly of the Panthers.

Lucas made 32 consecutive starts in Carolina between 2007-2008, but his man cover skills are fading as he enters his 30s. He's also lost some of his playmaking abilities. Still, Seattle will use more zone concepts under new coach Jim Mora and Lucas' sure tackling will come in handy. He'll battle Josh Wilson and Kelly Jennings to start at RCB opposite Marcus Trufant.

The Seahawks are expected to announce the free agent signings of CB Ken Lucas and FB Justin Griffith later tonight.

Lucas flirted with Chicago, but knows the Seattle area well and will have a better shot to start there. Griffith is versed in the zone-blocking scheme.

Free agent CB Ken Lucas says the Bears did not make him a contract offer during his Tuesday visit with the team.

The Chicago Tribune calls the Bears' interest in Lucas "lukewarm." Seattle is the other team pursuing Lucas and appears to have the upper hand.

The Seattle Times confirms that the Seahawks hosted CB Ken Lucas for a free agent visit earlier this month.

The 'Hawks and Bears appear to be in a two-horse race for Lucas, who the Panthers cut March 11. Lucas figures to go wherever he gets more money.

In addition to the Bears, the Seahawks are "believed" to have interest in free agent CB Ken Lucas, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Seattle could win any bidding war, and it's unclear if coach Jim Mora has faith in current RCB options Josh Wilson and Kelly Jennings after both struggled last season. Lucas offers much more experience and size than either.

In addition to Orlando Pace, the Bears hosted CB Ken Lucas for a free agent visit on Monday.

Unsurprisingly, the Lions haven't pursued Lucas since he refused to report after they tried to trade for him late in February. The savvy 30-year-old would provide competition for Nate Vasher and Corey Graham with Chicago.

Panthers released CB Ken Lucas.

Carolina began the day with $24,042 in cap space. The move saves $2.4M, so GM Marty Hurney can now sign his rookie class. Lucas was nearly traded two weeks ago, so clearly the 30-year-old is going to have a market. Perhaps the Broncos would be a potential suitor if Lucas was three years older.

Panthers CB Ken Lucas has nixed a trade to the Lions, making it likely that he will soon be cut.

Lucas reportedly "let it be known that he did not and would not play in Detroit." It's hard to blame him, but Lucas risks playing for less than the $5.6 million he's owned on his current contract once he's released.

Updating a previous item, ESPN's John Clayton considers Panthers CB Ken Lucas unlikely to be released.

We'll see. All indications from the Carolina beat reporters have been that Lucas is a likely cap casualty. Nickel back Richard Marshall has been ready to start for two years and Lucas' cap number for 2009 is a hefty $9.1 million.

The Panthers are reportedly shopping CB Ken Lucas.

A valiant effort, but they're unlikely to find takers. Lucas isn't washed up by any means, but the $11.6 million in base salary remaining on his deal makes him untradeable. Look for Lucas to be released by March 5.
