Texans placed LT Chris Clark on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season.
Clark was the Texans' starting left tackle much of the season with Duane Brown holding out and then getting traded after one game. Clark is a below average starter, but replacement Kendall Lamm is a downgrade. Lamm was beaten soundly by Terrell Suggs last Monday night for a game-changing strip-sack. Texans LT Chris Clark (calf) is questionable for Week 9 against the Colts.

Clark is expected to retun after a limited week of practice. He's been one of the lower-graded tackles in the league when healthy, but will keep his starting role with Duane Brown gone.

Texans LT Chris Clark (calf) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

He wasn't available last week due to a calf injury but should be back to protect Deshaun Watson's blind side Sunday against Indianapolis. Clark will take over as Houston's default left tackle following Duane Brown's trade to Seattle. He's earned PFF's No. 56 grade out of 73 qualifiers at tackle this year.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Texans OT Chris Clark will miss one-to-two weeks with a calf injury.

Clark had been filling in at left tackle, but Duane Brown should take over there after ending his holdout on Monday. Once healthy, Clark could replace Breno Giacomini on the right side.

Texans RT Chris Clark underwent offseason shoulder surgery.

It is viewed as a clean-up procedure, suggesting it won't hamper Clark too much this offseason. Clark started four games at left tackle and then 12 games at right tackle after Derek Newton went down with double patellar tendon tears. Clark graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 72 tackle out of 76 qualifiers. Owed a $2.75 million salary, Clark is a candidate for offseason release.

Texans re-signed OT Chris Clark to a two-year, $6 million contract.

Clark made five starts last season after coming over in a final-cuts trade from the Broncos last summer. He was exposed both as a pass and run blocker and shouldn't be counted on as anything more than a swing tackle with LT Duane Brown returning from a torn quad and RT Derek Newton back.
Tue, Mar 8, 2016 08:02:00 PM's Rand Getlin reports "multiple teams" are interested in free agent OT Chris Clark.

Clark's agent appears to be making the media rounds. Now on the wrong side of 30, Clark made four fill-in starts on the blindside last season. Only once in six NFL seasons has he started more than seven games (2013 in Denver). At best, he'd return as the No. 3 tackle in Houston. In free agency, teams probably won't promise Clark more than a competition.

The Texans want to re-sign free agent OT Chris Clark.

Houston's swing tackle, Clark made four starts in place of injured LT Duane Brown last season and performed admirably. The 30-year-old would return as a backup in Houston. Clark may prefer to see if he can land a starting job.

Texans acquired OT Chris Clark from the Broncos in exchange for a 2016 seventh-round pick.

Clark started seven games at right tackle for the Broncos last season, but he spent this offseason behind rookie Ty Sambrailo at left tackle. Clark can play left tackle, so he will be good insurance if Duane Brown (finger) is unable to play Week 1.

Chris Clark is penciled in as the Broncos' starting right tackle.

With Ryan Clady back healthy to guard Peyton Manning's blind side, Denver wants to keep Clark in the starting lineup because the team considers him one of its top-five offensive linemen. Clark is a rock-solid pass protector and adequate run blocker. Incumbent RT Orlando Franklin has kicked to left guard. Clark will be pushed in training camp by third-round pick Michael Schofield.

Broncos signed OT Chris Clark to a two-year contract extension through 2015.

The Broncos' swing tackle, Clark has played just 70 snaps going back to last Week 1. A 2008 undrafted free agent, Clark has made 42 career appearances and six starts, all for the Broncos.

Broncos re-signed restricted free agent OT Chris Clark to a one-year, $1.323 million contract.

The Broncos' swing tackle, Clark has appeared in all 16 games each of the past two seasons, and made six starts in 2011. He played just 66 snaps in 2012, however. Going on 28, Clark will be an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
Wed, Apr 10, 2013 03:07:00 PM

Broncos tendered restricted free agent OT Chris Clark at the original-round level.

Clark has appeared in all 32 games for the Broncos over the last two seasons, starting six. The low tender gives the Broncos the right of first refusal and will pay Clark $1.323 million in 2013.

Broncos claimed OT Chris Clark off waivers from the Vikings.

Clark was atrocious in pass protection during the preseason, so it's a big surprise that he got claimed. The Broncos' questionable GMing continues.
