Patriots S Bret Lockett is reportedly done for the season after tearing his groin in New England's preseason tilt with the Bucs on Thursday.

A special teamer, Lockett missed all of 2010 with a chest injury. If he does land on injured reserve, this would be the third straight season he has done so. Although he's still just 24 years old, he's going to have a hard time landing a contract next summer with that kind of injury history.

A disorderly conduct charge against Patriots S Bret Lockett was dropped in a Providence Municipal Court Wednesday.

Two charges -- the disorderly conduct and "failure to move" in objection to an officer's demand -- will be expunged from Lockett's record if he says out of the police blotter for three months. Lockett is currently on injured reserve.

Patriots DB Bret Lockett was arrested on Saturday morning on charges of disorderly conduct.

The special-teamer, currently on injured reserve (shoulder), refused to move when a Providence, RI police officer advised him to when he was standing outside a building. The Patriots have not commented on the arrest. This news should have no fantasy impact whatsoever.

Until Tuesday's press release announcing the roster move, Lockett's injury never made public. He was a special teamer only.

Lockett was used only on special teams after the Pats claimed him off waivers from the Browns in September. He'll battle for a roster spot in 2010.
