Eagles released TE Evan Moore.
The move comes on the heels of Philly's second-round selection of Zach Ertz. Although always long on athleticism, former Stanford basketball player Moore has never developed into a consistent NFL contributor. He's now 28 years old. Mon, Apr 29, 2013 05:01:00 PM

Date:

Evan Moore (back) has been downgraded to out for Week 17 versus the Giants.

Brent Celek is the starter, but Emil Igwenagu will back him up on Sunday. The Eagles have TE Derek Carrier on the practice squad as an option. Moore played in just one game for Philadelphia after being signed prior to Week 16. He'll end the season with one catch for six yards after appearing in 14 games with the Seahawks.

Evan Moore (back) was added to the Week 17 injury report and did not practice on Thursday.

Moore was targeted twice in his Philadelphia debut last week and flat-out dropped a pass. He didn't make a good first impression. Moore is obviously the No. 2 tight end behind Brent Celek.

Eagles signed TE Evan Moore.

Moore will fill the pass-catching specialist role behind Brent Celek with Clay Harbor (back) on injured reserve. The ex-Brown and Seahawk has consistently been underutilized during his four-year career, managing just 63 catches for 810 yards and five touchdowns. Moore will be looking to make an impression on a lame-duck regime.

CSN Philadelphia reports the Eagles will host free agent TE Evan Moore for a visit on Thursday, and sign him if he passes his physical.

Moore was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday. Moore has always been a well-regarded talent as a pass catcher, but two weeks shy of his 27th birthday, injuries have helped limit him to just 63 career catches in four seasons. He's likely being brought in to compete for a roster spot in 2013, but he could fall out of the Eagles' plans depending on Andy Reid's fate.

Seahawks waived TE Evan Moore.

Moore had just one reception in 14 games after signing a one-year, $1 million contract in September. The Seahawks recently worked out veteran Visanthe Shiancoe and may view him as Moore's replacement.

Seahawks signed TE Evan Moore, formerly of the Browns.

Moore is replacing Kellen Winslow as the Seahawks' "move" tight end, and will serve as insurance for Zach Miller (concussion), who missed the majority of training camp. Moore is still doubtful to make a fantasy impact this season, but it's a low-risk, high-upside signing.

Browns released TE Evan Moore.

Moore caught a career high 34 passes for 324 yards and four touchdowns last season, but was still buried behind Ben Watson, Jordan Cameron and Alex Smith on the depth chart, and due an untenable $1.87 million. The former undrafted has legit pass-catching skills, and should find a new home before Week 1.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer believes Browns TE Evan Moore's roster spot is in danger.

Moore is behind all three of Ben Watson, Jordan Cameron and Alex Smith, and is hurt by his non-guaranteed $1.87 million salary. The fifth-year pro missed time early in camp with a hamstring injury, but has appeared in both preseason games, making three catches for 38 yards. He'd do well to stand out against the Eagles on Friday. A highly-talented pass catcher, Moore should latch on elsewhere if handed his walking papers.

Evan Moore is currently fourth on the Browns' depth chart at tight end.

Moore missed the first week of camp with an undisclosed injury, allowing Jordan Cameron and Alex Smith the depth chart. With an impressive start to camp, the athletic Cameron isn't likely to cede the No. 2 spot the rest of the month.

Browns activated TE Evan Moore (undisclosed) from the active/NFI list.

Moore ends up missing just a week of camp as he returned to practice Thursday. He has significant talent as a pass-catcher, but the presence of starter Ben Watson and impressive third-stringer Jordan Cameron is a roadblock.

Browns TE Evan Moore is "losing ground" to second-year TE Jordan Cameron while sitting out practices with an undisclosed injury.

Moore opened camp on the active/non-football injury list for undisclosed reasons. He's yet to participate in any camp practices. Moore and Cameron are similar players; basketball types who struggle in the running game. Cameron has been picking up first-team reps in two-tight end sets opposite Ben Watson.

Browns TE Evan Moore will begin training camp on the active/NFI list.

The Browns haven't disclosed Moore's injury, but it appears he was hurt working out on his own during the offseason. We never saw any reports about Moore missing time in OTAs or minicamp. Until we see proof to the contrary, consider his injury minor.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer feels tight ends Evan Moore and Jordan Cameron could see more playing time in 2012.

An increase in snaps for the receiving tight ends would be traced to the team's upgrade at right tackle (Mitchell Schwartz). This would free up the tight ends from pass blocking, meaning more Moore/Cameron and less Alex Smith. Ben Watson is the favorite to lead the unit in snaps, but is not on the fantasy radar.

Evan Moore caught four passes for 39 yards in Week 17 against the Steelers.

Moore generated a small amount of hype going into the year, but was limited by the team's preference for Ben Watson as their ''in-line'' tight end. Unless the Browns find an immediate solution for their quarterback situation, expectations should be curbed for 2012. Entering Week 17, Moore graded out as the 14th ranked tight end by Pro Football Focus.
