Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official website doesn't expect the team to re-sign impending free agent Jermaine Gresham.
Hobson specifically expects Ryan Hewitt to replace Gresham as the starting tight end, and doesn't even mention Tyler Eifert. Hewitt is an exceptional blocker and technician, but Eifert is the vertical threat and will have a big offensive role in 2015. Gresham, 27 in June, should fetch a nice deal in free agency after grading out as Pro Football Focus' top pass-blocking tight end in 2014. Jan 6 - 9:57 PM

Jermaine Gresham (back) will be inactive for Sunday's Wild Card game against the Colts.

Good luck, Cincinnati. The Bengals will be down Gresham and A.J. Green (concussion). Green was ruled out over the weekend, and Gresham couldn't get his back to loosen up in pregame warmups. That leaves Ryan Hewitt and Kevin Brock as the Bengals' tight ends. Gresham was Pro Football Focus' top-ranked pass-blocking tight end during the regular season.
Jan 4 - 11:21 AM

Jermaine Gresham (back) is listed as questionable for the Wild Card Round.

He was limited in his Friday return to practice. Gresham is a battler and will likely be active for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, but his effectiveness is a question mark. He was clearly well short of 100 percent in Week 17.
Jan 2 - 2:29 PM

Jermaine Gresham (back) returned to practice Friday.

Gresham sat out Wednesday and Thursday but is ready to roll for Sunday's game against the Colts. Gresham's blocking has been huge for the Bengals in 2014.
Jan 2 - 11:03 AM

Jermaine Gresham (back) is not practicing again Thursday.

Gresham appears unlikely to practice at all this week after laboring badly through 36 Week 17 snaps. We could be headed for a true game-time call.
Jan 1 - 11:31 AM

Jermaine Gresham (back) is not practicing Wednesday.

Gresham gutted out 36 snaps against the Steelers in Week 17, but was really laboring in pain. It wouldn't be a surprise if he doesn't practice at all this week before suiting up in Sunday's Wild Card game at Indy.

Jermaine Gresham caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Steelers.

Gresham missed the majority of the first half with a back injury. He was a non-factor outside of a five-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Gresham finishes the season with 62 catches, 460 yards, and five touchdowns. He graded out as the best pass-blocking tight end in the league by Pro Football Focus.

Jermaine Gresham suffered a lower back injury in Sunday night's Week 17 game against the Steelers.

The Bengals listed Gresham as questionable, but he was able to return. He only ended up missing the first quarter.

Jermaine Gresham caught nine passes for 62 yards and one touchdown in the Bengals' Week 16 win over the Broncos.

With A.J. Green hurting his arm on the fourth offensive play and missing much of the night, Gresham saw a team-high 11 targets and led the Bengals in receiving. His touchdown couldn't have been any easier. Andy Dalton rolled out on play-action and found a wide-open Gresham in the back of the end zone. Gresham has played surprisingly well this season. The Bengals get the Steelers in Week 17.

Jermaine Gresham (toe) is listed as probable for Week 16.

Gresham practiced in full after sitting out last week. He should be avoided as more than a low-end TE2 for Monday night against Denver.

Jermaine Gresham (toe) is practicing in full for Week 16.

Gresham sat out Week 15 and then visited a specialist. Apparently, everything checked out fine. Gresham is averaging 3.8 catches for 29.0 yards with three touchdowns in 13 games this season.

Jermaine Gresham will visit a toe specialist Tuesday after being inactive for Week 15 against the Browns.

Gresham reportedly "looked great running around" in pregame warmups but was ultimately inactive Sunday. It ruffled some feathers, causing Gresham to confront a sideline reporter following the game after that reporter said Gresham "quit" during a pregame segment. Gresham hurt the toe in practice last week. Kevin Brock started at tight end. Gresham is a free agent in March.

Jermaine Gresham (toe) is inactive for Week 15 against the Browns.

Kevin Brock will start in his place, and is obviously not a fantasy option. Also inactive for the Bengals are QB A.J. McCarron, WR Dane Sanzenbacher, CB Terence Newman, OT Tanner Hawkinson, WR James Wright and DE Margus Hunt.

Jermaine Gresham (toe) is listed as questionable for Week 15 after missing Friday's practice.

He figures to be a game-time decision and play a minimal passing-game role if active in Cleveland. Gresham is a streamer option to avoid this week.

Jermaine Gresham (toe) did not practice Friday.

It's a downgrade following his limited session on Thursday when he suffered the injury. Gresham is Pro Football Focus' No. 1 pass-blocking tight end this season and a top-15 run blocker at the position. While his game doesn't produce box-score results, his loss would be felt on offense against the Browns.
