Eagles placed WR Arrelious Benn on injured reserve with a torn left ACL, ending his season.
Benn is now tasked with returning from his second torn left ACL in four years. Although he's still only 25 (in September), it could be a career-killing injury for the former Buc. The No. 39 overall pick of the 2010 draft, Benn has just 59 catches in 37 career games. He's currently under contract with the Eagles for 2014, but it's highly doubtful he'll be back. Eagles WR Arrelious Benn has been diagnosed with a torn left ACL, and is done for the season.

It's the same ACL Benn tore in 2010. It's a career-clouding injury, as the 2010 second-rounder has provided little, if any, impressive tape during his three-year career. Benn wasn't competing for a starting job in Philadelphia, and was going to need an impressive preseason to even crack the 53-man roster. The chronically-injured wideout turns 25 next month.

Coach Chip Kelly said he was "pleasantly surprised" by how Arrelious Benn (knee) looked in his first practice Sunday.

Benn is trying to shed an injury-prone label, make the Eagles' roster and help fill Jeremy Maclin's shoes all at once. He's a name to watch because he's more talented than Riley Cooper or Jason Avant, and has far greater size (6'2/220) than Damaris Johnson. Benn started off with the third team on Sunday, behind the likes of rookies Ifeanyi Momah and Russell Shepard.

Eagles WR Arrelious Benn (knee) has resumed practicing in training camp.

He'd been sidelined since July 26 with a hyperextended knee. Benn is working with the third- and fourth-team offenses. He could earn an opportunity to replace Jeremy Maclin with a big preseason, but that currently looks like a long shot.

Eagles WR Arrelious Benn has been sidelined by a hyperextended knee.

Benn is expected to miss 1-2 weeks. It's another setback for a former second-round pick who busted in Tampa after tearing his ACL in 2010. Benn isn't a real threat to Riley Cooper's role as Jeremy Maclin's replacement.

New Eagles WR Arrelious Benn knows he's had a "problem with injuries," and acknowledges he's "got to stay healthy" in 2013.

"I'll be honest with you, I don't like my career (to this point)," he said. "I got to stay healthy. I haven't stayed healthy. ... And when I was healthy and out there, I made plays, and I was consistent." Benn missed 11 of a possible 48 games with the Bucs, and was rarely 100 percent. He needs to show something in Eagles camp.

Eagles signed WR Arrelious Benn to a one-year extension through 2014.

Benn and a 2013 seventh-round pick were acquired from the Bucs in exchange for a 2013 sixth-round pick and a 2014 conditional pick last week. Benn is signed for $630,000 in 2013, and he's likely getting a bump up to the five-year veteran's minimum for 2014. He'll compete for a roster spot this summer.

Eagles acquired WR Arrelious Benn and a 2013 seventh-round pick from the Buccaneers in exchange for Philadelphia's 2013 sixth-round pick and a 2014 conditional pick.

Bucs GM Mark Dominik didn't get much, but he did do well to get anything at all for Benn, who's been a near-complete bust since Tampa Bay drafted him with the 39th overall pick in 2010. Billed as a chain-moving possession receiver with run-after-catch ability coming out of Illinois, Benn has been incredibly injury prone en route to just 862 yards and five touchdowns across 37 career games (24 starts). He'll battle for a roster spot in Eagles camp.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the Buccaneers are shopping Arrelious Benn.

A colossal disappointment since the Bucs took him 39th overall in the 2010 draft, Benn has managed 59 catches for 862 yards and five touchdowns across 37 career games, making 24 starts. Tampa Bay would lucky to get back a seventh-round pick, although Benn's $630,000 salary does figure to help his market.

Bucs placed WR Arrelious Benn (knee, shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Benn was supposed to be the Bucs' No. 3 wideout behind Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams this season. It never happened. He couldn't get over the MCL sprain he sustained on the first day of training camp and ended up making his biggest contributions on special teams while Tiquan Underwood ran with the third receiver job. Benn will be in the final year of his rookie contract in 2013. He finishes 2012 with four catches for 26 yards in eight appearances.

Bucs declared WR Arrelious Benn (shoulder) inactive for Sunday's Week 10 game against the Chargers.

WR Chris Owusu is active for the first time in his career. He'll help out with receiver depth and on special teams. Otherwise, the Bucs are extremely healthy. The rest of their inactives: RB Michael Smith, S Cody Grimm, CB Danny Gorrer, LB Jacob Cutrera, LB Najee Goode and G Roger Allen.

Arrelious Benn (MCL sprain) is practicing in full this week.

He'll be active against the Panthers, slotting in behind Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams and Preston Parker. Benn will need injuries ahead of him or an unexpected breakout to get back on the fantasy radar.

Arrelious Benn (MCL sprain) is expected to play Week 1.

Benn's return to practice has gone smoothly. If active on Sunday, he'll be the No. 4 receiver at best behind Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams and Preston Parker.

Arrelious Benn (MCL sprain) has resumed practicing.

According to the Tampa Tribune, Benn looked good in his cuts and route running on Tuesday. After missing the entirety of training camp, Benn will likely open the season last on the depth chart at wide receiver.

Arrelious Benn (MCL sprain) is expected to return to practice within days.

The Bucs haven't ruled Benn out for Week 1 -- assuming he makes the team. However, he's been sidelined since the first day of camp, thus missing a full month of offensive installation in a new offense. He'll also have to get in football shape. Benn is well off the fantasy radar.
