ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Steelers CB Joe Haden (fibula) does not need surgery and will miss at most six weeks.
Haden suffered a non-displaced fracture of his fibula against the Colts. Pro Football Talk reported Haden will only miss three weeks, and Fowler suggests the corner has a good shot to beat his six-week timetable. Even if he takes the full month and a half, it looks like Haden will be ready to go when the playoffs roll around. Nov 13 - 9:49 AM

Profootballtalk reports Steelers CB Joe Haden's fibula fracture is "slight," and he will miss only three weeks.

It would be a huge break for the Steelers, whose cornerback corps looks a lot less solid without Haden's solid 2017 in the mix. A three-week absence would have Haden returning in Week 13 or 14.
Nov 12 - 6:26 PM

Steelers CB Joe Haden has been diagnosed with a broken left fibula, and is out indefinitely.

Haden got run over by Donte Moncrief in the first half Sunday, and was spotted on crutches in the second half. It's quite possible he misses the rest of the season. Although still not the player he was in his prime, Haden has been enjoying something of a bounce-back season with the Steelers, who must now move forward with Artie Burns, Mike Hilton and William Gay as their top three corners. Haden's loss significantly thins Pittsburgh's depth, and downgrades the back end of the defense across the board.
Nov 12 - 4:33 PM

Steelers CB Joe Haden was forced from Sunday's game against the Colts with a left leg injury, and will not return.

Haden got run over by Donte Moncrief in the first half, and was ruled out after the break. He remained down on the field for a long time, and re-emerged from the locker room on crutches. He should be considered week to week.
Nov 12 - 2:47 PM

Steelers signed CB Joe Haden to a three-year, $27 million contract.

Haden was strongly connected to Pittsburgh after his release from Cleveland. The deal includes $7M guaranteed this year and a $9M AAV, so the Steelers clearly think he still has some good years left. Injuries derailed Haden's career the last two seasons but he adds a veteran playmaker to Pittsburgh's secondary. Haden will get in practice time ahead of Week 1, though it may be a stretch for him to start the year in an every-down role.
Aug 30 - 4:26 PM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent CB Joe Haden will visit the Steelers on Wednesday night.

Pittsburgh is first up in the Haden sweepstakes. The Steelers are one of 12-13 teams that have already expressed interest, and it's been reported they're the "favorite" to land Haden. He should have a home in next 24 hours.
Aug 30 - 2:36 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers are the "favorite" to sign free agent CB Joe Haden.

Most signs have been pointing to this over the past hour. Haden, 28, isn't going to last long on the open market. A plus starter when healthy, Haden should have his pick of the litter. Signing with the Steelers would give Haden a chance to stay in the same division and not have to pick up his bags and move far, while also providing a real chance at the playoffs. Haden will have a home soon.
Aug 30 - 11:25 AM

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Steelers are showing "strong interest" in free agent CB Joe Haden.

This aligns with a report from NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala, who reported Pittsburgh was "emerging" as a contender for Haden. If Haden wants a chance to stick it to his old team, the Steelers and Browns are division rivals and play twice a year. He also wouldn't have to move far. Artie Burns, Ross Cockrell, and William Gay are currently the Steelers' top three corners.
Aug 30 - 11:04 AM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Saints and Chiefs are two teams expected to have "strong interest" in free agent CB Joe Haden.

Haden, 28, will be a popular player over the next 24 hours. Agent Drew Rosenhaus expects his client to have a new home by Thursday afternoon. In addition to the Saints and Chiefs, the Cowboys, Colts, Giants, and Steelers have also been talked about as possible fits. The Chiefs badly need an upgrade on Phillip Gaines on the outside opposite All-Pro CB Marcus Peters.
Aug 30 - 9:29 AM

Browns released CB Joe Haden.

The Browns had been shopping Haden seemingly ever since the new regime took over, but they weren't able to find any takers. Now 28, the former No. 7 overall pick has been a shell of his early-career self the past couple years as he's battled a number of injuries. Haden was Pro Football Focus' No. 98 cover corner out of 119 qualifiers last year. He was scheduled to receive an $11.1 million salary. The Browns are moving forward with Jamar Taylor and Briean Boddy-Calhoun. Haden should easily find another job, but he's no longer an elite, shutdown corner.
Aug 30 - 9:05 AM

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports the Browns are "aggressively trying to trade" CB Joe Haden.

La Canfora adds the team is "very motivated" to move Haden's contract, which will pay him $32.9 million over the next three seasons. His recent play does not justify that kind of money, and he always seems to be at risk of an injury. All of that suggests Cleveland is unlikely to find a trade partner. The Browns owe Haden $4 million guaranteed this year, but they can get out of the deal with little liability next spring.
Aug 29 - 9:27 AM

Browns CB Joe Haden (groin surgery) said he feels healthy and is good to go.

While he did not say it plainly, it sounds like Haden will be a full-go for the offseason program. Haden was limited to five games in 2015 and struggled as he attempted to play through multiple groin injuries last year. A full offseason would be a good start to what he and the Browns hope will be a bounce-back season.
Apr 18 - 12:50 PM

Browns CB Joe Haden underwent groin surgery.

He said the procedure "went great!" Haden was ineffective playing through two groin injuries this season, and he has been on a downward trend the last two years. He needs a healthy bounce-back season in 2017.
Jan 10 - 12:53 PM

Browns CB Joe Haden (neck) returned to practice Thursday.

Haden will need groin surgery after the season and is now dealing with a neck injury, but it looks like he will give it a go Week 17.
Thu, Dec 29, 2016 11:51:00 AM

Browns coach Hue Jackson said he is hopeful CB Joe Haden (neck) will be able to play Week 17.

Haden was forced from Week 16 with a neck injury and is dealing with a groin issue that will require surgery after the season. There is no reason for him to rush back with the Browns getting their win last week. Haden's season is likely finished.
