Chiefs released OG Mike Goff.
The club paid Goff $1.7 million last year for seven unimpressive starts before he went on I.R. with a shoulder injury. The 34-year-old was in clear decline the previous season and one of first-year GM Scott Pioli's biggest errors. Wed, Feb 24, 2010 04:28:00 PM

Chiefs placed RG Mike Goff (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Goff had been in obvious decline in his final two seasons with San Diego, so it's not surprising that he didn't help the Chiefs' line. Goff is signed for 2010, but will probably be cut this offseason. He turns 34 in January.

Chiefs signed OL Mike Goff, formerly of the Chargers.

Goff hasn't missed a start since 2002, but is 33 and his play dropped off markedly last year. Ideally, he'll be a backup at guard and center in K.C.

Right guard Mike Goff injured a finger on his left hand in San Diego's Week 7 game against the Chiefs.

He will have an MRI test performed today. Goff is an important piece of the Chargers' interior offensive line, so losing him would likely affect RB LaDainian Tomlinson in an adverse manner.

The Chargers believe they have a better offensive line going into this season than most people give them credit for.

"I don't give a (darn) what other people say,'' right guard Mike Goff said. "They say that all the time, unless you got eight Pro Bowlers. Everyone always questions the offensive line. That's fine. You accept that challenge and it makes you want to work harder to prove everybody wrong." Goff and Roman Oben, veterans, anchor the right side of the line, while center Nick Hardwick, left guard Toniu Fonoti, and left tackle Courtney Van Buren have seven starts between them, all belonging to Van Buren. The good news is that LaDanian Tomlinson has shown he can run behind just about any line.

The Chargers signed veteran guard Mike Goff to five-year, potential $13.25 million deal that included a $3.5 million signing bonus.

The Chargers are spending on their O-Line, which is great news for L.T owners out there.
