Cardinals LG Mike Iupati agreed to a $3 million pay cut.
He agreed to shave $2.75 million off his base salary and gave up the $250,000 roster bonus which would have been due on Friday. His contract is also now voidable in 2019, which is currently scheduled to be the final year of his contract. The restructure should keep him on the roster, but this is the definition of a make-or-break season for Iupati in Arizona. Mar 15 - 9:13 AM

The Cardinals can save $6.2 million if they release LG Mike Iupati this offseason.

Iupati was placed on IR and may be out for the season with elbow surgery. He's struggled with injuries dating back to last year and had career low PFF grades in 2016. Owed $19.5 million the next two seasons, it's possible the Cardinals could move on from Iupati, though he's still their best offensive lineman when healthy. Releasing Iupati would leave $3.6M in dead money.

Cardinals placed LG Mike Iupati on injured reserve with an elbow injury.

He needs elbow surgery. It's a huge disappointment after Iupati told reporters on Wednesday that there was a "100 percent chance" he would play in Week 4 against the 49ers. This is a huge loss for Arizona's offensive line, especially because fill-in LG Alex Boone is also presently on the shelf.

Cardinals LG Mike Iupati (triceps) says there's a "100 percent chance" he returns Sunday.

This falls in line with comments from GM Steve Keim. Iupati's return is good news for a run game that managed just 49 yards on Monday night. The Cardinals are also expected to get LT D.J. Humphries (knee) back this week.

Cardinals GM Steve Keim said he is hopeful LG Mike Iupati (triceps) will return Week 4.

He said the same of LT D.J. Humphries (knee), and OG Alex Boone's pec injury is not believed to be serious. It is welcome news for an offensive line which struggled both in the running game and passing game Monday night. Boone has been playing left guard in Iupati's place, so Arizona will have to decide how to shuffle the line once both are healthy.

Cardinals declared LG Mike Iupati, LT D.J. Humphries, ILB Deone Bucannon, QB Blaine Gabbert, WR John Brown, RB D.J. Foster, and DT Xavier Williams inactive for Week 3 against the Cowboys.

John Wetzel and Alex Boone will get the starts at left tackle and left guard, respectively. Bucannon isn't ready to come back from an ankle injury. Brown remains week to week with his quad strain. J.J. Nelson will be the No. 2 WR.

Cardinals LG Mike Iupati (triceps) is out for Week 2 against the Colts.

It looked like Iupati would be a game-time decision this week but instead he won't even make the trip to Indianapolis. Alex Boone will fill in at left guard.

Cardinals LG Mike Iupati (triceps) is questionable for Week 1 against the Lions.

Iupati has been limited at practice and will be a game-time call for Sunday's opener. If Iupati can't get the green light, John Wetzel would start in his place.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is "impressed" with LG Mike Iupati’s conditioning.

Iupati ballooned to 345-pounds while dealing with an ankle injury last year. He's in better shape this season at close to his listed weight of 331 pounds. The Cardinals have concerns on the right side with unproven Evan Boehm replacing Evan Mathis, but are counting on Iupati to anchor their interior line.

Cardinals LG Mike Iupati (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday.

It's his first practice since going down in Week 5. Coach Bruce Arians said Iupati "looked good" and is trending toward playing. Barring any setbacks, Iupati should return for Sunday night's game against Seattle.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is hopeful LG Mike Iupati (ankle) will return for Week 7.

Iupati missed Monday night's win over the Jets after going down on Thursday Night Football in Week 5. He'll have had 17 days to heal up if he's active against the Seahawks on Sunday evening.

Cardinals declared LG Mike Iupati, CB Brandon Williams, RB Kerwynn Williams, DT Olsen Pierre, TE Hakeem Valles, DT Ed Stinson, and DT Xavier Williams inactive for Week 6 against the Jets.

Iupati is expected to miss multiple weeks with ligament damage in his ankle.

Fox Sports 910 Phoenix reports Cardinals LG Mike Iupati is expected to miss "2-4 weeks with a ligament tear" in his ankle.

With RG Evan Mathis already on injured reserve with an ankle injury, the Cardinals have serious questions on the interior of their line. Earl Watford and John Wetzel filled in after Mathis and Iupati exited against the 49ers, and they will likely get the first crack in the starting lineup. Arizona did sign Ulrick John late last week, but he is likely just a depth addition.

Cardinals LG Mike Iupati and RG Evan Mathis both departed Thursday's game against the 49ers with ankle injuries, and did not return.

Both players seemed pretty hobbled as they came off the field. If there's good news, it's that they both have 10 days to get healthy for Week 6. Even without his guards, David Johnson rushed for more yards than any back this season against the woeful 49ers.

Cardinals LG Mike Iupati (neck) will start Sunday against the Bengals.

We assumed this would be the case after Iupati returned to a limited practice on Thursday. Iupati had to be hospitalized after his neck injury Sunday but was able to escape with just a double stinger. He never showed any concussion symptoms.
